Was skeptical to ever stop in because of the reviews, but when everyone else was closed on Christmas Eve, this was my only option. They only had fryer options available so I got the chicken strips. No complaints :) The prices on the alcohol were fair compared to other places I’ve been. The service was great, and they have pool tables! I’ll definitely be back. Glad to have found a place where I can kick back and relax.

Garbage service and prices. It’s more like the bar from Star Wars. Honestly I don’t know how they keep the doors open!

You know Joe’s in the ID? Yeah. that place you’re afraid to even walk by, let alone drink at? This is the suburb version. Known mostly for it’s Chen’s-esque bar and not it’s food, this is the place on Finn Hill to get shit-faced any day of the week. Once upon a time, I used to meet a friend here all the time for drinks. It’s super rare I go now, but I just can’t bring myself to forget it completely. I have never had the food when I could also stand up without assistance, so probably not the best judge of it. I’ve never gotten sick, though. So there’s that.

The best Chinese food I have ever had, hands-down. The egg fu young was super tasty, and the beef with veggies was decent too. I’ll be back for sure! Just kidding. This place sucks.

What a dive. It smells bad, the customers are loud and offensive and really this place is a nuisance. Stay away. Hopefully they will go away and a decent place will open up.

I would give zero stars if I could. We live close to this place. The establishment puts their focus on their bar and its stumbling drunk patrons who have to prop themselves up on the sidewalk while they drag on their cigarettes. They do not place any emphasis on on their food or in providing a nice establishment for the community to eat at. Over the years we have seen this place rapidly decline in food quality and taste and freshness. It’s been a while since I last ate here(and it had changed to Chuck’s from China Chef), but the last time was memorable as whatever I ate(and I believe it was the chicken chow mein) tasted rancid and nasty and I couldn’t finish eating. The only good thing? I was just sure I would end up with food poisoning and I didn’t. I have never been back and have no plans to. Wish they’d do away with that whole bar/restaurant, gut the place and put in something decent.

I absolutely love dive bars. I gave Chuck’s a try several times and have always been disappointed. I live very close to it but now drive out of my way every time to have a cold one. Don’t bother, this place really is gross.

This is not new as some would have you believe. It is still the China Chef with an expanded bar area and now serving hamburgers, from what I have heard. Their menu may have changed, but the owner and kitchen still look the same. I haven’t tried it so I’ll give it 3 stars until I try or hear any different. I guess that is a boost from the former 1 star rating.

Has there been a scary place where you hear children dare each other to go into? Some of these places might be a haunted house, an abandoned train stations, or even just a graveyard. For me growing up Finn Hill it was the Airport(which isn’t really there anymore) and China Chef. China Chef, in my opinion, only really stays open because of the popularity of the dive bar attached to it. I have had their food once, and would have to be drunk to go back. But I hear if you’re looking for some drunken fun you can go there!

Looking for good Chinese food? Stay away from China Chef. Everyone else does. I’ve never even seen a single other customer here. I have seen their cooking utensils on the sidewalk outside their kitchen though. But after night China Chef turns into a bar. That’s when the real action begins, and the regulars show up. UPDATE: Remember how China Chef leaves their cooking utensils on the sidewalk outside the kitchen? Last night I caught one of their drunk customers urinating in that exact spot. Now I know why there are always strange stains on the sidewalk there. Go look for yourself. Where is the health department when you need them? UPDATE2: China Chef has renamed themselves«Chuck’s.» Which is perfect, because now we can all start calling it «UpChuck’s». PROS: Located next to(slightly) better restaurants. You can get drunk at night. CONS: Cooking utensils + Drunk idiot = Urine on your food.
