I have been there several times and have liked the food each time. First time, my husband and I had some Spicy Eel sushi. I had some reservations about it but it was delicious. Had Teriyaki platters, excellent. The next time, I took my mother in law for lunch and it was great. Third time, I took my daughter and we had so much food that we took it home. I had enough leftovers to fix for dinner that night with my husband. I will keep going back as I loved the food. Great job!

Their Garlic chili shrimp is amazing! We also get the crispy beef and double pan fried mandarin chow mein. I used to go to another chinese place, but their food seems fresher and less greasy so we switched.

If I could give them ZERO stars I would. The food isn’t that good, but we’ve been going to Kips since I was a kid and like to support local businesses. We will NEVER return nor will I recommend to anyone. Recently my family and I were dining at Kips and there was a screw in my lo mein, yes a screw. When I called over the waitress to tell her what happened she went back and the workers were laughing and had smerks on their faces. They did not comp our meal, didn’t have a sincere apology and just deducted that dish from our bill. Very poor customer service and just rude.

Ordered Mongolian beef, chicken chow mein, and a chicken teriyaki bowl. Everything was terrible the rice was either overcooked or somehow soggy. I would have enjoyed three day old reheated Chinese food from literally anywhere else over this place.

This is an amazing family owned restaurant. I’d probably rate it 4 stars, but some shitty reviews are in here, so i’m putting 5 to make it even

Sadly I have to write this and I really hate doing it BUT unfortunately Kips has gone down in taste and quality. Had to throw all the takeout away the chicken didn’t have any flavor at all, the fried rice had way more egg than rice everything was just off I have loved this place for years but for those prices panda valley is a short drive and still taste better I can’t believe such a great restaurant would change so much

I go to this place at least once a week, great food great portions and the owner is a true gentleman. I can’t believe he doesn’t have 4 or 5 stars cause Having a restaurant background myself I can’t see them doing anything wrong. Well done and keep on doing what you are doing. Great sushi!

I would give them 5 stars but they happened to move into the same space that my favorite sandwich place used to occupy and it’s not their fault but I still feel sense of loss and I need someone or something to blame. If you like chow mein and you eat chicken, order chicken chow mein, pan-fried(cantonese style) noodles with almonds. You will not be disappointed. I’ve been coming here since they were a tiny shop across the street from what was then«Pic N Save» off Main Street. It’s just another childhood favorite.

Cute little place… Food was OK. Not as impressive as their other location. We opted to eat outside. Besides the huge bug light making disgusting zap/fry bug noises…(which BTW was sitting directly above another table) lol… Everything was fine. I do have to say something… Not just about this establishment. BUTALL/MOST OFTHEM… WHATONEARTHISUPWITHTHE1NAPKINDEAL??? Is there a policy? I hate asking for MORE napkins… And then they come back with 2!!! O. o This is always a deal breaker for me! I highly doubt will be returning. :( Too bad… I had high hopes for this place.

My husband has been to Kip’s since he was little… so we had to kill some time in East County so we thought we would have dinner at Kip’s — checking on Unilocal — the location has changed from the original spot on 2nd south of the 8 freeway… the new place is smaller. I ordered the moo goo gai pan(I always order this!) — very bland. My husband ordered the garlic chili chicken and it was a cry topping on the chicken. It was good flavor but dry fried chicken inside. I scrapped off some of the garlic chili dry rub and put it in my moo goo gai pan and it was better. super bland everything. Such a sad story. It was edible but disappointing. Kids had sweet and sour chicken and it was mostly batter. ugh…

I just picked up our order from Kips and brought it home. I want to get sick as I’m writing this… I ordered sweet and sour shrimp, it came battered deep fried and was soggy the shrimp were tiny and limp over cooked OMG disgusting. Who puts battered fried shrimp in this dish ?? Should have been non battered shrimp. The shrimp were about 1 inch in length consumed by tons of soggy batter. Fried rice tasted like it was cooked with dirty water. I won’t even go into my husbands food I just want to add we dined in the other location for years and years and it was excellent. This location can’t be the same owner running it. Does not have the same karma. I won’t be returning !!

The food is decent. The prices are ok for the portions you get. Sushi is a lot smaller than what I’m used to. I’ve never eaten in the restaurant, just used them for delivery. They are located approx 5 minutes from me yet I takes close to or over an hour to get my food delivered. I don’t know why it takes so long but I’m going to second guess using them in the future. If your going to charge me for delivery at least be more prompt about it. After an hour I finally received my order. They spilt one of the entrees so teriyaki sauce was soaking all the containers from the bottom of the bag. The egg rolls were so greasy I couldn’t eat them. And despite asking for no mushrooms in the teriyaki chicken, there were mushrooms. Consider this my last order from Kips

When I check a place out for sushi, I like to order some maki rolls, just to see if they can make such a simple roll, great. At this place, I ordered the Maki combo, with tekka maki, salmon maki, and regular California cut roll for $ 10.95. I have to admit, these were some of the smallest maki rolls I have ever experienced( ). The tekka maki were the best of the bunch and had the most ingredient in them. The tuna was mildly rich in flavor and they were tightly rolled( ). The salmon maki barely had any salmon in them, to actually taste the rich flavor of salmon, so they were basically a bust( ), and the California maki rolls too had such a minimal amount of avocado in them that they made me sad( ). Given the quantity of small size of the rolls, these combo should be better priced around $ 8 and some change. Service was not as good as it should of been. They did not bring me a menu until after some time, and another employee had to bring to me who was not even my server, I had to get up to find my own low sodium soy because no one would come to my table even after I received my food, and it to forever to get my check. In the end, yes, I have had better service and food, and to make matters worse, I left hungry, so I went down the street to visit the local Taco Bell.

I’ve heard a lot of really good things about Kips, thought for certain I would be enjoying a good meal. Boy was I let down. Kips was pretty quick to have my online order ready in just under twenty minutes! Amongst all there rushing to have my order ready quickly there was some plastic-ish material left behind in my box of to-go fried rice. Surprised, yes, pleasantly, no. Among further inspection into my meal I quickly realized I was not the only human hovering over my little cups of sweet and sour sauce, for me and my girlfriend found an unfamiliar hair. Surprised, yes, pleasantly, no. All in all kips left me wanting more, feeling hungry, and slightly disgusted. By all means if your one of those, «Don’t knock it till you try it» kind of people, have a go at kips and let me know what you think…
