Lamb skewer, extra seasoning, medium spice. Hands down the best freaking lamb skewer ever. Only $ 1.50 per skewer!

Amazing lamb skews not the same as the ones we got back home but close enough. A bit pricy so most people probably just have 2 – 3 skews once in a while. Thy have a resultant but The skews from the food truck is wayyyy better than the ones in their restaurant, would love it if the quality of bbq in restaurant get to the same level!

Seriously? Okay I get that I paid between $ 1.50-$ 2 per skewer but I’ve had more meat fall out of a taco than what they had on each skewer. They would’ve got 3 for the flavor of the chicken alone and the cabbage was good but everything else blah. The shrimp and beef were over cooked and the fact that I waited over ten minutes for 4 mini skewers from a food truck there’s no reason for them to be overcooked. You had me wait to overcook my food uh huh. Smh. I had to go get a second lunch which was just as disappointing. Resolution: bring my own lunch next week

This is my to-go place when I am craving for skewers. People working on this truck are different sometimes but wow’ service and food are always good! I’m proud of the Chinese young man of starting this lovely food place from scratch and having it a success. Haven’t tried their restaurant yet since it is far from where I live, but I will check it out some day.

I finally tried this when I returned to Boston a couple of weeks ago to attend my graduation. I had a few lamb skewers, a beef skewer, and one other kind(forgot). If you are going to get anything on a stick, get the lamb. You can probably find the other meats at most restaurants but lamb skewers are a bit harder to find. I had the skewers without the extra spice because I had to attend graduation and was not sure how the spice would affect my stomach. Anyway, if you want to try a food truck in the Chinatown area, this one is prettying good for a snack.

If you don’t know if you should get one or not, then don’t. If you are hungry and need something, get one. The service was great. Nice smile and friendly. Food was nothing special. They don’t use charcoal. Very boring flavor.

Simple. Delicious. Clean. Flavorful. Love the beef and lamb skewers. $ 1.50 each for simple grilled skewers with salt, pepper, cumin. Wish they had more jumbo pieces, juicier, etc., even if they were 2x the price. But this will become a local favorite.

Having had authentic Northern Chinese lamb kabobs, this has the all bearings of a great start-up, with authenticity written all over it. These lamb kabobs originate from Uighur culture. It has been enjoyed by Turkic Chinese people(pronounced wee-gur) as well as the Hui ethnic Chinese who have persian and/or muslim ancestry, living throughout Northern China. I don’t mess around with the other stuff on the menu, just lamb. And for $ 1.50 per kabob, it’s worth it. Back when Beijing cars could pass the smog check and when you could actually see the sun, this was the stuff you’d get on summer afternoons, a stack of cumin and cayenne char-grilled kabobs in one hand while chugging down a Jian Li Bao or Bejing Soda aka Bei Bing Yang! You Northerners know what I’m talking about, that orange stuff and that clear stuff. LOL. Enjoy Wow Barbeque. It’s more than a crazy RED truck, it’s a ride that will transport you to what’s left of the dusty silk road.

After walking pass this red food truck so many times, I finally decided to try it on my way home one day. I got two lamb skewers, $ 1.50 each, and of course I asked for spicy. The staff was very friendly and professional. They make to order, so you might have to wait for a few minutes for your order, depending on how busy they are. I personally didn’t mind the wait at all. There’s a flat screen TV on the side of the truck playing a set by Calvin Harris, which truly warmed my heart and soul in the chilly evening. After a few minutes(less than 5) on the curbside, I finally got my hands on these babies. There were 7 pieces of lamb on each skewer. Sprinkled with cumin and chili powder, the meat was fatty, succulent and bursting of flavors. I didn’t think it was spicy at the moment, but a few minutes after I gobbled it down, my lips were definitely tingling from the spices. I highly recommend Wow Barbeque to anyone who is a fan of Mongolian BBQ! The skewers would go perfectly with some cold beer!

I LOVELAMB. Since moving to Boston, Wow Barbecue has been the only food truck I’ve consistently visited every few weeks(or basically whenever it’s near my vicinity). Skewers feature pieces of cumin-seasoned lamb alternating with succulent pieces of fat, creating an addictive taste that keeps me coming back for more. The quail eggs here also a treat and perfect late night snack! Fun fact: the caucasian guy who sometimes works the cash register speaks better Mandarin Chinese then I do(sad but true), which is why my husband forces me to practice with the guy by ordering in Chinese. This small effort probably won’t help my language skills much, but if it means eating more lamb, I won’t complain.

Once upon a time, My companion and I was traversing to Chitown for some egg tart and I decided it was time I try the Red Truck’s food. I’ve cross its path so many time in the past but we’ve always had other plans to eat at other restaurant that I never got my chance. But today was the day and I was determine with every bones in my body to finally get a taste! Sadly upon arrival the truck was not there. Hmm this is the day I’m trying it so there’s no way I’m giving up. Go around Downtown to buy some time… Finally 2 hours later… Yay the magical red truck is here! TLDR: Finally got to try the food here after such a long long time… Got the 2 lamb, the kidney and quail. Not as «spicy» as everyone advertise, and my spice game is weak! The lamb was not as good compare to the other two. It was sorta bland to me and a tinsy bit dry. Quail was second best, just fun to eat. Kidney was bombdotcom. Perfect texture, flavor, should have gotten more than one. Everything was super cheap, If they accepted credit card I would gladly buy this truck for my club meeting! My friend didn’t like hers :(Should have given them to me because I would gladly finish them.

was thrilled to come across the food truck; had to try it out! offerings were decent, from different types of meat to egg and what not. got a couple sticks w/a friend… it was alright. the server was very attentive, re-appearing at the window multiple times asking specifically if we wanted spice on this or that. but the wait was simply too long(5+ mins for a stick of meat!); didn’t help that we were standing in the winter cold at dusk. when the food finally came out, they got cold fast — not entirely their fault, but affecting the overall enjoyment nevertheless. the portion… slightly meager for $ 1.50-$ 2/stick, i mean… it’s literally two bites of food! would try again if i chance to come across it, but probably won’t chase it down the street.

When I first saw this place on Unilocal I was pretty darn excited. Then, when I saw the menu and saw how cheap each skewer was I got even MORE excited! And…and then when I saw how huge these skewers looked in the photos I nearly pissed myself! Needless to say, I was pretty stoked to come here after a long day of classes. I came here with a couple buddies and we each pitched in to get 11 skewers(you get 10, 1 is free). Now, if you were to eat all 11 skewers by yourself, it could be a pretty solid meal. But at $ 15, especially from a food truck? Mmmm… whether it is worth it is debatable. For anyone wondering, these skewers are TINY. Like, two bites per skewer. Four if you have the mouth of a hamster. If you have a big appetite… good luck. You’re going to need at least 30 of dem bitches. I tried the chicken, beef, lamb, and sausage. I got all of them«spicy»(they really weren’t spicy at all). I would say its spicy level is equivalent to a «Hot» Taco Bell sauce. The chicken was rather bland, but the most lean out of the meats. The beef was pretty fatty but tasty(of course). The lamb was pretty solid too and not bland. The sausage was probably my favorite. It was a little sweet, and«spicy» with the seasonings. In order of preference from the best to ass, I would choose 1) Sausage 2) Lamb 3) Chicken(because it’s lean) 4) Beef If you check in, you can get 20% off the«health» items which basically include the Cabbage Skewer, Tofu Skewer, and Poland Spring. But in all honesty, who would eat such rabbit food???

Wow! Barbecue! The name says it all, really. It’s great. I have only ever had the lamb skewers. For $ 1.50 apiece it’s a decent deal — not gonna fill you up or anything(unless you buy like 5 of ‘em), but they are delicious. Ask for spicy flavor, unless you don’t like spicy flavor — in which case, still ask for the spicy flavor cuz what’s wrong with you? Nah I’m kidding. You can like whatever flavor you want, man. Downside — sometimes it takes a while for them to make the meats. They make it as you order it, so sometimes it takes like 8 minutes or something. If you don’t have 8 minutes, then you shouldn’t come here. A prerequisite for coming here and ordering and then getting to eat the food that you ordered is that you have 8 minutes. So you gotta ask yourself, «Do I have 8 minutes?» If you don’t, tough luck, friend. Cuz, Wow! Barbecue!

Meh. It didn’t «Wow» me. I ordered the beef, lamb and pork skewers, for $ 1.50 they are a pretty good deal, but the meat is tough and seemingly cheap. You can chose the level of spice, I ordered«mild.» The rub was quite tasty but it couldn’t save the dish. The guy working the truck is super nice however and I got a huge kick out of the fact that he blares heavy metal in between customers. Def. heard some old school Metallica coming out of the speakers. Rock on.

I am calling this chance of fate during our exploration of Boston, we exited the MBTA Chinatown station, and the truck was parked right in front us of across the street. We went to check it out this red food truck, it turned out they were serving Chinese barbecue skewers, probably first time I have seen them in the US. We got some Lamb Skewers, one spicy and one regular. The spicy powders on the skewer are the best part! The meat was decent, and I wish they could fill up 80% of the stick with meat instead just 30% of it. Not comparing them with the ones I had in northern China, they were decent for the US. Wow Barbecue definitely brought some memory of my travels in China. Good to see something other than dim sum or sweet and sour pork served in the Chinese category here.

Fact: Meat is always better when it’s on a stick. What does Wow Barbecue serve? Meat on a stick. If you’re in the area and you want a delicious, cheap, Atkin’s friendly snack, then there’s really no better option that Wow. I recommend the chicken and the lamb. FWIW: Unilocalers who check in to the truck get 20% off their purchase. Since a skewer runs anywhere from $ 1-$ 2, you’d probably have to order a whole bunch to even notice you’re saving any money, but hey, buy for a crowd and you might find yourself with a bonus meat stick(now that just sounds dirty).

I love Mongolian lamb skewers! So when I passed by this food truck the other day I had to try one! Each skewer costs $ 1.50. I wish there was more meat per skewer. Before I could savor the taste of the delicious lamb, it was all gone! :(I could probably have 10 of this to be satisfied. I especially like sprinkling the spicy chili powder on the skewers! This truck is located in Chinatown! These skewers are great for snacking!

I always pass by this food truck and I finally caved in and tried the lamb skewers here. I was craving some mongolian lamb the other day and this really hit the spot. The only problem I had was that I didn’t get enough of it! Each skewer is $ 1.50. It took a while to wait for the skewers but it was worth the wait. The lamb was succulent, juicy, and full of flavor. I added the extra spices and I finished the skewers in less than a minute! I will definitely come back another time. They are always at the corner of Washington St and Boylston St.

On Saturdays, you’ll find Wow Barbecue across the Chinatown RMV. Although it’s Chinese owned, I can’t help but see Wow Barbecue as a yakitori truck. I love the concept, affordable yakitori has been non existent in Boston… till now :) They have offerings of lamb, chicken, tofu, quail eggs, and cabbage– averaging from $ 1 – 1.50 a skewer. According to their facebook page, they are the only authentic BBQ lamb in Boston. A little pretentious of a statement IMO considering how other halal places surely must do lamb kebabs too, but I get the gist– they take pride in their lamb skewers. Had their $ 1.50 lamb skewer(4 pieces) — spicy. It’s made on the spot for you so expect a short wait. The spice they use to coat the lamb is very similar to the Japanese spice«shichimi», except Wow Barbecue’s is 2x spicier. I choked and was taken aback by how spicy the chili pepper was going to be– nothing mellow to cater to American taste buds, it’s FULLONASIANSPICY: D Just the way it should be. The lamb bits were the perfect size for yakitori, succulent and not dry. I look forward for them to expand their menu, to me Wow Barbecue will be dubbed the yakitori truck of Boston.

It is about the culture the authentic bbgs brings. Not to mention those young guys quit their best paid job to make it available, you’d have to travel far east to the other side of the earth to taste the type of food! Such as adopt a culture takes time, I would not quickly jump into a conclusion this food is not as good as the food from another region and culture. Taste small skewers with such a low cost(in comparing with a hotdog roll), we may consider ourselves lucky, as walk on the silk road to experience the part of world history…
