Got a great Basilcata sandwich. Filling and felt great about eating it. Healthy fresh food, extremely pleasant staff. New Jersey needs a Viga!!!

Cockroaches in the prep kitchen and staff not wearing gloves. The smell coming from the prep kitchen is terrible. Don’t eat here.

I work in the area so I am constantly either stopping by viga for a quick lunch or eating catered food from viga. Here is my take: Breakfast — Viga has very good breakfast options for decent prices for the area. Omelette bar, sandwiches, the works. I tend to stop in because the coffee is good and there typically isn’t a line unlike Starbucks or DD Lunch & catering — viga boasts a pretty solid lunch menu with anything you could ask for from an Italian eatery. Nothing too amazing, but nothing terrible. The salad options are nice and surprisingly big. I like their homemade apple cider vinaigrette. The lines can get pretty crazy so make sure you know what you want before you get in line.

I have used Viga to cater several events at work, and the food is just terrific. Great portions, reasonable prices, great flavor, and great service! Thank you again for another great meal!

I understand the appeal of Viga. It’s cheap, there are a lot of options, and they have cycling specials and deals. I just can’t get behind their food. Don’t get me wrong, the food isn’t bad at all. I just wouldn’t say it’s particularly good either. If I could describe most of the food I’ve tasted from Viga, I’d call it «fine». Everything is filling, but I haven’t ever really had food from Viga that was distinctly flavorful. I’ve had a couple of pretty bland calzones, some greasy pizza, and a couple of pretty good but uninspired salads. If you’re looking for a quick bite for cheap, check it out, but don’t expect to have your mind blown by any measure. As an aside, they do always give you free bread with any purchase. And while it isn’t particularly great bread, it is FREE bread. Who doesn’t love bread? And who doesn’t love free? Kudos to you on that Viga, kudos to you.

Viga’s great. Not incredible or outstanding, but great. I usually run in here on my lunch break when I need something cheap and quick that isn’t Wendy’s. I love the baked ziti, and mac & cheese on Mondays. A small pasta is under $ 4, comes with a little yummy piece of bread, and I can never finish it all. Their pizzas are positively enormous and very good. If you’re looking for a good place to cater pizza for the office, Viga is an excellent option.

In terms of versatility, deliciousness, fun, quality, price and operational efficiency, Viga takes top prize. If you work in the area, you should probably know by now that this is the go-to place, the staple of any lunch conquest, and on thursdays they do lobster mac and cheese(check their website for all of their daily specials). Sandwiches, pasta, pizza, salads, wraps, calzones: It’s all good here. I pity the poor souls that pay double across the street at Sebastians.

I really love this place. Not only is it reasonably priced, but their portions are great and they give you free bread. Their pre-made salads are really the best price per portion going anywhere around the city. Get the coupon punch card and make sure you go on Tues for double punch. On your 6th order you get $ 3 off. On your 12th order you get $ 5 off.

this is for the catering services– for some reason tufts is hell bent on getting this crap for pretty much every mandatory lunch meeting i’ve had to go to in the last 3+ years. all the sandwiches are always mushy with too much bread and not enough filling. the chicken salad is always so heavy on the mayo that i feel a heart attack coming on just from looking at the stuff. tuna is meh. the best part was today’s chicken parm though – i cut the piece of chicken in half and it was nice and pink! awesome. excuse me while i go shove a finger down my throat.

as our lord and savior jesus christ used to say: VIGAAAAAAAAAANOMNOMNOM This place is the go to spot when you want something simple and delicous. My two favorites are the chicken salad(best in the city in my opinion, maybe with pesto?) and the chicken sandwich with tomato and avacado. Just awesome. Dont get scared off by the long lines, you will literally never be in there more than 5 – 7 minutes even if the line is out the door. Theres a rewards cards as well, $ 3 dollars off every 5 sandwichs, $ 5 off every 10.

If you dig a 60⁄40 fresh-to-spoiled lettuce ratio say HEYHEYHEY and come on down to Viga! I haven’t had any of the hot food options because eating pizza/pasta/paninis at lunch is disgusting and seriously how can all of you people even look at yourself in the reflection of your timed-out monitor during your 2:45 gutbomb coma, but I’d guess they’re innocuous enough. I used to be all about the Caesar salad here, because it’s mad-mad-mad cheap(under 5 $ for a sizable one) and quick and whatever, but lately the lettuce has been so brown. SOBROWN. Step it up, Viga.

Used to love this place but their food quality has gone downhill. The economy has turned, and I feel so has their food so I haven’t been there for months — maybe even a year.

The good thing about Viga is their consistency between their locations. I have already reviewed other Viga’s so not too much is different here. Some of my favorites include: Penne Badia(Tuesday’s only) — chicken alfredo with sun dried tomato, garlic, and olives Buffalo Chicken or Steak Wrap — Best buffalo wrap I’ve ever had, the steak tehy use is excellent. I usually get the grilled chicken to be more healthy. Their fried chicken is unreal Chicken Parm — Best chicken parm I’ve ever had…

Thank you Viga, for actually serving true, grilled chicken. Not«grilled» as in broiled, or on the top of a flat grill, but actual flame-grilled chicken!!! Viga is my #! place for lunch in Boston’s financial district. Will usually order either the Milano(grilled chicken) or Pavorati(italian meat) sandwiches, but will also get Viga’s pizza on occasion, too. Great portions, great prices, and in my experience consistently good food. Viga can get very, if not extremely busy at lunch time, but that speaks to its reputation. Viga also offers a «frequent customer» card deducting either $ 3 or $ 5 off the price depending on the number of card-punches accumulated. Buy-one/get-one free pizza slices before noon, and special deals on Tuesdays. Even more of a reason to go! GIve Viga a try, I think you’ll like it.

Normally I like to visit a place several times before I review, but my lunch yesterday was just too good. The grilled chicken sandwich at Viga easily ranks in my Top 5 Sandwiches I’ve Ever Eaten. That’s no small accomplishment: Like Joey from Friends, I list«sandwiches» as a favorite food. Grilled chicken, provolone, avocado spread(read: guacamole), and tomato relish on a baguette = ultra-delicious. Viga is going to give me problems because the rest of the menu also looks awesome, but ordering anything else means there will not be grilled chicken sandwich in my mouth. Not a five star because the atmosphere sucked(noisy, crowded, overflowing trash cans), though I was impressed with the speed of service given the crowd size.

Viga is a great little lunch spot. They offer pastas, pizza(which is greatly superior to the totally-missable Al Capone’s a few doors down, though inferior to Pizzeria Regina in South Station), hot and cold wraps, and salads. The SMALL size salad is one meal. The LARGE size salad is two. So, compared with Cosi, it’s about half the price, and fresher, with a better range of dressings. I deem it the best salad in Downtown Crossing. But, to get access to all the salad options, arrive before noon, as they’re pre-packaged and the inventive ones go fast. Overall, the prices for all food compare very, very favorably to other Downtown Crossing spots. They’d be a four-star spot, except that they continue to give me Chicken Caesar wraps in which they unleash amazing amounts of Caesar dressing… we’re talking puddles dripping out the bottom and forming pools on the paper wrapper. Today I even asked for«easy on the dressing» and, sure enough, the girl amazingly slathered it on like Hurricane Katrina. What’s with that? Don’t they ever ask themselves, «would I want to eat pure Caesar dressing?»

Been to this location a few times when doing Union errands for my work. This location is alright but I’m more used to the Pi Alley area. This set up is a little different and smaller, I feel more comfortable over down Pi Alley. With that being said, great establishment though. Cheap salads, I give that an A++. Under $ 3 for a side salad and bread, thats a great lunch. I’ve only ever gotten the salads here and the Steak Fra Diavlo wrap, yummy. No onions though, they load them up too much(not a fan). Def a place to stop by though when trying to figure out a quick(very speedy service) lunch on a busy work schedule. The only downside to them is they kinda rush you at the register, and you feel a little overwhelmed when they’re like NEXT! And you’re still trying to get your money back in your wallet and your bag zipped.

I really want to give five stars to this restaurant, but I can only give four because this restaurant is only open on weekdays from 11AM to 3PM, which really baffles me. Despite that it is only open on a typical lunchtime schedule during the typical working days, it is a great place to eat at. The food also comes really fast, making it one of the fastest take out pizza places I have been to in Boston so far. The pepperoni pizza is really good. After chewing on the crust, you can taste that it is almost fresh out of the oven, and it is so chewy. It is probably one of the best pizzas I have eaten. When I worked in Downtown Crossing, the office sometimes chooses this place whenever they want a pizza party. I had the Chicken Parmesan pastas and sandwiches, and I thought the Chicken Parmesan sandwich was great. The small Chicken Parmesan pasta dish was okay, good enough to fill up one person. I think if you ordered the larger size, it will fill you up more. Make sure to take a roll of bread with you(you do not need to pay extra) when buying a dish. It’s really fresh, good, and chewy. I would definitely come back to Viga again for lunch if I ever return to working in the Downtown Crossing or Financial District area. The only problem is that the hours are not good. I really, really want to give this place five stars but the hours are what’s holding me back. However, I believe this place is the best take out pizza place in Boston.

Viga is one of my lunchtime splurges– not because of the price, but because I want to eat every single item on the menu the minute I walk in the door. Their portions are generous, but what really gets me is the number of options available. This is a great place to go with a split group of friends, as you can get salads, sandwiches, pizza, pasta, and more. Every sandwich I’ve tried has been a knockout, and a friend who I recently brought here confessed to planning her next visit days in advance. Beware the long lines, but most importantly, make sure you’re in the right one for the food you want! It’s not always clear where you should be standing, so be proactive and pay attention to who is ordering and who is waiting to serve you delicious food, and your service will be a lot faster.
