Unfortunately my evening didn’t end so well as they wouldn’t let our group split the check and then the server followed me out of the bar to argue about it!

I visited Boston to watch the Astros play the Red Sox and this was the first bar I went to. Talk about breaking stereo types, everyone here was extremely friendly and easy to talk to. Played darts with some locals and talked about the baseball series. The beer selection was good and the pretzels were the best ones we’ve had at any bar. We even went back a second time during our trip. Perfect neighborhood bar.

This is a great little bar in Beacon Hill. The bar is narrow and long, but the best table/seats are next to the windows that look out onto Charles Street. The Sevens is a true neighborhood bar in Beacon Hill.

Here is a thought; don’t call yourself a pub of you only have a beer and wine license. Although I did throw darts with about three or four Donald Trump look-a-likes so at least that’s something! Bartender; a dick. Douchebaggery; 10 out of 10!

Bartender was a complete jerk. I would go anywhere but this bar. Waited forever for a drink then got an attitude. Awful experience. Don’t go there

The service wasn’t great. Right when we sat down, the host was rushing us to order. He asked us questions like«Are you going to order or sit around?» and when one of our friends was on her phone«Are you paying attention?». Such a turnoff right from the start. The food was not bad. We got the wings with bourbon sauce and pizza and it was pretty good. Other than the service, everything else was good.

I will never again get food here. Ordered chicken fingers and pretzel bites. The chicken fingers were Tyson brand frozen chicken fingers that they heated in the oven. The pretzel bites were almost too hard to chew. Not restaurant quality at all. Worse yet the bill was $ 18! This is the first time I’ve felt bad about spending money on food.

True dive bar. Only would recommend if you want to wet your whistle with one drink. The place was packed however it took 45 minutes to get a bowl of soup and spin & artichoke dip. I watched them nuke both items before bringing it to the table. The amount of fruit flies in the place was a little disturbing. My wife had them circling her win. I would probably look for better options next time in town.

It was really bad, very little bad quality food. Very expensive wines, bad service, she didn’t even bring us water … Very unfriendly! And you will smell like fried food when you leave this place. Totally not suggested.

Found this place early into our week long stay in Boston. We ended almost every day here with a few pints! Great social atmosphere and we felt comfortable and welcome. Service was excellent(thanks John!) and so was the beer. We didn’t eat much so can’t really comment on the food. Great little neighbourhood pub!

I simply love coming here for a cheeky afternoon pint whilst in Beacon Hill. The woman who works there in the day is absolutely lovely and remains so even when dealing with dreadful customers who are parked on bar stools complaining or asking inane questions. I suspect it could be full of bros at the weekend, but definitely nice and quiet during the day.

The Sevens Ale House is where the locals hang so you you know it’s good. I ordered the BLT sandwich and a pint and was totally satisfied. The place is authentic. When in Boston do what the Bostonians do, drop by the Sevens for a pint or two.

Local joint, fun for drinks and chatting with friends. The waitstaff is nice and you usually know a couple people in the crowd. It’s a nice mix of people: lots of prepsters from the neighborhood some out of towners, some recent grads, some 30 somethings and 40 somethings. They have beer and wine and sub par pub food. They have darts and a couple TVs. A good neighborhood joint when you don’t want anything too fancy and just want a to chit chat over a pint of beer.

My friends and I stopped here while bar-hopping in Boston. I certainly liked the atmosphere and the dank bar smell. Service was excellent. The bartender actually acknowledged us as we walked in and basically followed us to get our drinks! Food-wise, there’s not much to say because all we had were wings.

I came here a few times to grab a quick pint of Guinness and/or Sevens beer. Bobby is awesome — I came in tonight to say bye, but he’s off. Just a great guy and all the employee’s are great!!! I really cool place to just go grab a beer, great food and good conversation. Bobby thanks for the recommendations on where to go in Boston and learn some history of Boston! Louie

Most people want to go to Cheers when they visit Boston but the sevens is a true neighborhood bar. I started going to the sevens about 5 years ago when I moved back to Boston. Since then, they’ve watched my husband and I date, get engaged, get married, graduate and then sadly move away. It’s a beer and wine only place. They don’t take Amex. Get over it. The atmosphere alone is awesome. They’ve got darts in the back. The hot pastrami on light rye with Swiss cheese recommended by a stranger is the reason we started coming here. Trish, John and the regulars are the reason we keep coming back. I will miss this place but always make it a point to visit when in Boston.

Went here with a friend for a late lunch. This place is exactly what it seems – a dive bar. That being said, they do the dive bar scene very well. My friend and I ordered a couple of drinks and I went with the corned beef reuben with macaroni salad. When the food arrived a short time later, I received a decently sized sandwich with a good portion of macaroni salad. None of the flavors blew me away, but they held true to a classic. I really enjoyed the bread, dressing, and corned beef all together and thought that the macaroni salad had a nice flavor and texture as well. Quick service and no frills, worth checking out for a quick bite or pint.
