This place is an absolute joke and not worth the $ 10 cover charge. I was here last night, 2÷5÷16. We waited in line for a bit to get in but the line seemed to move pretty quickly. The only reason we chose this bar was because we had friends already inside. I was with 3 other girls and one guy.(Not sure if that has any relevance… I know some bars like letting in more girls…) Anyway we get in and my friends start walking up the stairs. The bouncer in the Patriots hat shoves me out of the way and rips my friend down the stairs then goes up and tells my other friends they need to go down and wait in line. We had never been there before and we had no idea their was a line because the place was complete chaos and no one was standing at the stairs monitoring them when we got in. We wait in line and watch as the other bouncer(that is now monitoring the stairs) lets about 8 girls and 2 other guys go straight up right as they walk in, so we confront him and he says«that’s the owners daughter nothing we can do about it…» Sounds like complete BS to me… I will never go back here, definitely not to a place where the male bouncer thinks it is okay to shove girls out of the way and physically pull them down the stairs. These kinds of situations are received a lot better if one uses words and is polite rather than acting like a complete dbag. I felt completely disrespected after the way we were treated.

After searching the area for a reasonable spot for lunch, which was challenging because Feneuil Hall is extremely crowded during the summer on a weekend, we happened into The Point. It looks like a cozy sports bar and is nestled into a back alley along with other pubs and restaurants. We had a pleasant meal here with an old friend, catching up over decent fish and chips at a high top table. It is a good place to go to escape the crowds, which was the point(haha).

We came in because we heard a band playing. Had I known how loud and bad they were, I would have walked right out. My nachos were okay. They originally didn’t put the BBQ pork on them before bringing them out. My wife’s clam chowder was okay. Service was stretched too thin. The only saving grace were the cheap beers.

First, let it be we(wife and I) eat and drink a lot in lots of places but for some reason I’ve never felt the urge to post or comment despite using Unilocal a ton! On my parents final day visiting from England we decided to stop in Boston prior to going to the airport. I’ll start by saying my parents are fussy eaters, not justified food wise but setting, service, drinks etc. I walking around Faneuil hall I wasn’t sure where to go. Nothing too fancy but good food and drink. In walking around saw The Point, and figured lets maybe grab a drink a figure out lunch. While it looked like any other Boston bar we sat down and looked around. Well, the bar tender/waitress who was on her own acknowledged us and came over in a tidy manner and brought our 4 drinks quickly. We all ordered off the $ 8 lunch menu, chicken kabob with salad and rice, Shepard pie and stuffed pork loin. The food was awesome and in the words of my mother, the best meal we have had here(in two weeks traveling east coast). I was trying to pick holes and not give this 5 stars but I really couldn’t, maybe the hand dryer was poor, maybe seats could do with some upkeep but that’s about it… Excellent, see you soon!!!

We had a group post-meeting get together on the 2nd floor of The Point, and it was an excellent choice. We had 25 – 30 people, had the upstairs to ourselves where there is good room to mingle, a bar, and an overall nice feel. The staff was very helpful(Paul met us downstairs and set things up, and Kali was our bartender). Very happy we chose The Point — we’ll be back!

A favorite when in that part of town. I was regular long ago, so I am biased in favor of the place, and even with staff that don’t know me I feel at home. Beer prices are great, service is great and that’s what matters

My friends and I went here yesterday during a St. Paddys day pub crawl. One of my friends had an e-cigarette, and they told us all of us had to leave because she had used it. In the process of making us leave, one of the bouncers decided to take it upon himself to grab me around the neck from behind and throw me to the ground for no reason. He took it upon himself to use that e-cigarette as a reason to attack somebody, even though I was calm and collected during the whole process. I don’t know how they train their bouncers here at The Point, but using excessive force to get an individual out of the bar is not right and I felt I needed to make a comment of that incident here. In my opinion he shouldn’t be allowed to work there anymore as he’s just getting a rush from trying to use excessive force on customers. There’s many other bars around Faneuil Hall, this bar is already sub-par and with this i incident I’ll make sure I never go back to the Point and neither will my friends.

stopped by last night to grab a quick mug of suds and ended up finding my new favorite bar in the area. The bartenders were some of the nicest people I’ve ever met. Ended up staying all night. Thanks !

First, let me start this by saying we were visiting from Dallas. We were visiting the area to attend the Sunday night Patriots game but turned it into an extended vacay. As for Monday night, we wanted a local bar that wasn’t over priced. We happened to wander into«Point» pretty late to have some drinks and watch the rest of MNF. We didn’t eat anything but bar service was great. It definitely has a dive bar vibe and I have a feeling during a Patriots or Red Sox game this is the place to be!!! You always see the awesome, «cozy», local bars on TV and in the movies when a historical sporting event takes place in Boston and I feel like this is one of those places. It’s very centrally located and easy to find. It has a wall of tall windows so you get a nice view of the surrounding city streets and buildings. We will make a return visit to this spot on our next Boston trip. As far as prices go, we have zero complaints! Good bar prices make for a great night!

We found this place just walking around in Boston and it was a cool find. Basically your quintessential Irish pub with all the old wooden décor. We had a variety of appetizers which were all good and the brown ale was excellent. The place was also very busy with tourist and locals.

I gave this bar a second chance and it still failed me. Slow service and way too crowded. Only go here if you are wasted or too dumb to know the difference between a good a bad bar.

Picked this place on our trip to Boston for dinner. On a block full of bigger and more crowded bars, the Point is a more laid back and could remind someone of a dive bar. But we picked it because of the ½ off burgers on Thursdays(which starts after 8pm). We got«The Brunch» cheddar and fried egg & bacon and«The Hay-something» burger with swiss and mushrooms. We were bummed they were not ½off when we ordered and might regret our choice of bar but the burgers came out to be one of the best tasting burgers and the fries were amazing! I’m infatuated with fries so it’s exciting to eat really good ones. The bar was slow and only one person worked behind the bar when we walked in. A few minutes later the bar picked up, lots of people came in and plenty of waiters and bartenders. However, service was a bit poor as we had to wait a long time to get the waiter over to our table to ask for the check. They got a good soundtrack for background music! Last note, their lager selection was good also. We had the summer lager(sorry don’t remember name) and it was light and refreshing.

I’ve been to the point a couple of times for beer and apps. It’s a good place to go if you are looking for a cheap beer option and decent food. They have $ 8 Bud Light pitchers or $ 2/beer. Can’t beat that price in Boston. The last time I went we had a nacho appetizer with pulled pork. It was good, but nothing special.

I love The Point. When I was working in Center Plaza, it was the go-to spot for me and a few colleagues for a drink and some appetizers after work. I still go from time to time when the mood strikes. Last night, I went with my friend and steady Point date. She and I ordered the same as we always do, but the server argued with us that they didn’t have onion rings and never had onion rings. We figured maybe it was a new thing. He argued back that he had been there since 2006 and they had absolutely never had onion rings. We had never seen the guy before, and he was nice enough, but those onion rings got us through the majority of 2012 and about once every couple months in 2013. I still have dreams about the dipping sauce. That said, my friends and I will always come back to The Point.

Walked in after a Bs game from a suggestion from friends who go to school here. Service was fast and friendly. I grabbed a couple draft beers and they arrived quickly. I order a steak tip sub which came perfectly cooked. It tasted great and had HUGE portions. Great friendly place with awesome atmosphere.

My best friend and I, who were visiting Boston, stopped by the point to grab a drink before dinner one night. We were greeted with awesome bartenders, and hilarious local regulars that recommended two of the best dinners that we had in Boston. We had a great time in a very casual, and friendly environment. They took care of us real well, and sent us home with inside jokes and new friends. Stop by for a pint next time you’re in the area!

Ewww, ewww and ewww. I came here because my student association was having an event at this place. I ended up leaving after about half an hour because I could just not stand the atmosphere. LOUD music, crowded bar and tons of college students and early 20s types being super obnoxious. The overall feel of the place is cheap and dirty. The only redeeming aspect was the very nice and friendly bouncer at the door. There are such better places in the area to get food and drink. Why is this place still in business?

The only redeeming part is the friendly bouncer at the door. Our server acted as though she could care less about serving. Took way too long to get one drink and menus… and then she never returned… and it wasn’t busy. We had to walk up to the bar and wait for the bartender(who also walked off) to pay. Where did they go?! Bathroom was disgusting. Another reviewer wasn’t kidding, the door opens up right into the bar and tables. Move along to Canal Street around the corner for the sports bar scene…

This place sucks and it’s all that you need to know. This is the place college kids, tourists or anyone in general goes to get a drink if the lines at the better clubs in the area are too long. You wait outside to pay $ 5 then wait inside to get the upstairs part of the bar which further makes the place more crowded. This place should be renamed, «The World’s Crappiest Tiny Bar.» I’ve been to dives which can be enjoyable but this place is just a dump. My old roommate has lived in Boston and never hear of the place either which even signifies how much this is a no name place. We left after 10 minutes to one of the better establishments in the area. I’ve never heard of a bar that has one bathroom that opens into the bar. Really? It really looked liked more people opted to piss on the floor than actually use the toilet. I’m surprised no one gets hepatitis from using it. The bartenders are inattentive and couldn’t keep pace with folks getting drinks. You can expect crappy drinks served in plastic 8oz cups that are just as crappy as the pour count. The crowd was fine but this place was a huge«sausage factory» which is okay if you you’re a girl who like people get wasted off of Bud Lights. Save your time and get to other places around the area that are way better. I’ve seen a better time and atmosphere in a fraternity basement.
