It’s okay. The flavor lacks authenticity, but not bad. For the price, not too bad a deal. If I’m less lazy or it’s not as cold, I would almost for sure walk a few more blocks and get better Asian food in Chinatown. My biggest gripe is that the food is not professionally prepared. It’s like they have this good idea for fast Asian food, but the execution is subpar. For example, my phở(idk why it’s even phở; tastes nothing like phở) is a bowl full of broken noodles. Like, one inch long noodles. Someone messed up and didn’t prepare the noodles properly. Amateurs. So I probably would still just use this place as a backup for maybe once every other month.

Came for lunch and got the red curry special with tofu for 6.50. A ton of food and solid flavor for that price. Pretty spicey but definitely will be back

I bought the banh mi with grilled pork and hot sauce. It’s soooo good! It’s not like the traditional banh mi since the bread and vegetables are different, but this is definitely worth trying.

This place is excellent. I work right down the street and end up going here almost every day. Personally I’m a huge fan of the tofu ramen and crispy rolls, but having had a couple of other dishes I think they’re all similarly excellent. It’s cheap; everyone is friendly; the food is excellent; the wait is short. Really nothing more you could want from a place.

They came to the Sunday SOWA food trucks. I got pork and salad. It was good except it was more fusion than Korean. It was fairly priced. We ate at a small park two blocks away. It was nice. Fair amount of food.

Had the bulgogi beef on brown rice with salad at their food truck at Children’s Hospital in Boston. Tender and flavorful beef with a delicious sauce over brown rice. I will definitely go back to try more things on their menu.

well this is a first. the first 3 stars Im giving to a place I will go to again and again. Here’s the scoop. I like all the food there, for a take out place, the location, price, décor, staff and yummy factor had always given it a 4 star in my brain. «SOWHATHAPPENED?» you ask? I’ll tell you. The help changed and that was the start of the fall. The food is still good and prices but when you used to kinda had it all before, now it’s lack luster and I’m a «take it as a pkg deal» kinda butch! After the über friendly woman in the Yankees BBall hat, who I had been ordering from 2 times a week for like a year, all of a sudden wasn’t there I noticed a shift in the whole place. The new help is nice, but it’s sort of disturbing when a staple in your day drops from existence and then the«store front» changed. Not sure what was going on there, but someone made the decision to get rid of the open cooler and low counter to put up a dark wall of drab. yeah yeah its a take out place BUTSTILL it used to be kinda cute! look at the pics from before! and then to top it all off the other day I was informed they are doing away with the fresh rolls. WHA…whaaaa…WhAtTtT!!! I hope the Yankee hat woman went on to great things in life but that aside I’m not sure why it was decided to start fixing things that weren’t broke. I admit, I seriously don’t go there 2 times a week anymore. I go about twice a month. maybe more this winter b/c I reaaally like the spicy Phở It just doesn’t have that POP it used to. Cheers!

I got a bowl with lemon grass chicken and jasmine rice, which the cashier insisted on calling white rice. Plenty of chicken. Perhaps too much. And I hate throwing food away. The dark meat chicken was cut up in large pieces(some with fat attached) making it hard to eat. The bowl included some good veggies(greens, sprouts, carrots). For $ 6, I’m not complaining. But I not raving either. For similar food, Bön Me is slightly better(see my review).

This place is spectacular. It’s take-away only, but the price is right for the quality of the food. I typically try to be healthy when I’m here, so I’ll order lemongrass chicken over greens with extra veggies. My order is ready in like 30 seconds and they give me an insane portion of chicken… I honestly can’t even eat it all in one sitting and it makes me wonder how they make a profit on my $ 6 salad. I’ve also had their bahn mi which is totally satisfactory. Not the best bahn mi I’ve ever had, but I would definitely order it again if I was in a sandwich mood. Their ramen is also tasty and one of my coworkers absolutely lives off their phở in the winter. I’m beyond lucky this place is so close to my office. I love that there’s a healthy, delicious Asian place to compete with the overabundance of mediocre take-away lunch options in the financial district.

Excellent food. Very good takeout place without much waiting… Went for Bowl option… Korean Chicken BBQ was very nice, the chicken was still juicy with little burnt on the outside and their salad with that was very tasty too… My only complaint is that the egg noodles wasnt warm enough…

The food is not bad, but it is not great. The beef bulgogi was not particularly flavorful, and they mixed potato with it! I’ve never had bulgogi with potatoes; it isn’t right. That said the place is dirt cheap, the vegetables were very fresh and the food was OK. Will probably try again with another dish in the near future.

5 stars, really??? It’s dirt cheap, but the portions are sort of small, and the food is a little bland. This is definitely watered down for an American lunch crowd. It’s really not all that much of a step above typical food court Asian food(which I prefer for the value equation). Having said that, I go every once in a while to pick up lunch on the way back to work from C-Mart.

I hate to be harsh but this place does not deserve five stars. I truly believe this is a «yay I’m a fan» four stars. Honestly though i would still try this place if you are in the area. But to me, the lacking mentality about this place that does not make this five stars to me is that: I would not go out of my way to eat here… Side note: I would give this place five stars for people who hate venturing into Chinatown because of the dirtiness or because its scary as an alternative to asian food… The good: this place is super clean, somewhat upscale, kind of what you would picture if a food truck opened up a physical location. The staff is super friendly and YES they do accept cards. There’s nothing really bad about this place. The food(which is always the most important factor in my rating) just has nothing that differentiates itself from other restaurants, especially being so close to Chinatown. The food is good! not GREAT! That’s all that can be said…

I admit that I was unimpressed by the original Momogoose food truck when I went there on opening day, but Sate has never been anything but excellent! They must have worked out the kinks in their menu, because everything I’ve tried has been fresh and tasty. Lemongrass chicken actually reminds me of the version my dad used to make(which is high praise) and the spicy pork has just the right balance of spices and a nice char flavor in the background. I ordered the daily special curry once and while it was a bit bland, it still had a good general flavor and a nice balance of meat to vegetables. I ordered the phở this afternoon(rainy weather = soup weather for me) and they customized it exactly to my tastes– regular phở with just a pinch of the spicy sate mix made it perfectly spicy, but not overwhelming. I will definitely be returning for my soup needs this winter when I don’t feel like hiking over to Chinatown for the authentic stuff!(and no, authentic phở doesn’t have broccoli or zucchini pieces in it, but they added to the soup’s texture anyway)

Have been here 3 times so far and I can say I’m a fan. I’ve only tried their rice noodles with bulgogi, yellow curry chicken, and Korean BBQ chicken. While the last two were good, the bulgogi was by far my favorite which I think I will order every time from now on. Will definitely go back to try their banh mi and phở(when it’s not 90 degrees out). Being Vietnamese, I grew up eating more of these two items so I tend to be a lot pickier. And with Chinatown just a couple blocks away, I know I can find something cheaper and more authentic, but I think for a quick bite that is around the corner from my office and satisfies the craving, Sate does the trick!

Tucked in to a hall in this office building I wasn’t sure what to expect. I was not disappointed! I ordered my usual BBQ tofu ramen and the(new?) employee first used chicken but was told with absolute certainty, «You have to remake that» which is just awesome. The food is amazing and totally on-par with the trucks so no complaints there. The only weird thing is that it’s *really* quiet in that hall, unnervingly so. I hope they get music in there at some point. Just a little sound would make it not so library like. Five stars for delicious food in a consistent spot and for making sure I don’t eat chicken water! So glad to have a place where I know I can get my ramen fix from my favorite Momogoose people!

Oh man. I’ll confess to being a little addicted to Momogoose. Super fast, convenient, and delicious Asian food for cheap — served out of a truck by friendly employees! So I was very sad months ago when the Momogoose truck that would park right at South Station and got replaced by some horrendous yellow Asian food truck. Thankfully, I heard through Twitter and Facebook that Momogoose was opening up a brick and mortar location nearby, and I decided to check it out today at their«soft opening.» I would say that Sate(pronounced sah-tay) is very similar to the food truck. You got your soups(I had the phở), rice dishes, and Vietnamese baguette«banh mi» sandwiches. I tried one of my coworker’s fresh rolls, which contains rice noodles, vegetables, and tofu, and that was delicious as well. Their service seemed a little bit slower than the food truck(which has lightning quick service), but maybe that was because they were newly open. Is it a Michelin star restaurant? No. But it’s cheap, healthy(at least as far as Asian food goes), and tastes delicious. For what it is — a lunchtime spot that caters to professional folks like myself — it is fantastic.

Oh my god, finally a Momogoose Brick and Mortar location. I can finally get my Southeast Asian fix without having to travel too far in rain or snow. My personal favorite is the Korean BBQ Tofu on salad and the servings here are so generous! The price is super affordable to boot!

This is the brick & mortar restaurant for the beloved Momogoose. I work in the building and have long been awaiting their opening. And now that they’re open, they haven’t disappointed. The menu is similar, if not the same, as the truck offering ramen and phở soups, banh mi sandwiches, various curries, and other southeast Asian bowls with your choice of salad, noodles, or rice. As well as vegetarian ravioli, fresh rolls, and spring rolls. Combination lunches inlcude an entrée, a roll or ravioli, and bottled water are $ 8. The portion sizes are a pretty happy medium(in other words, they are big enough to keep big eaters happy, and small enough not to feel wastefull to smaller eaters). Everything always tastes fresh, especially the crisp vegetables. My favorite is the lemongrass chicken in a salad bowl with a bit of siracha on top. They also offer Teas’ Tea and some sodas in addition to bottled water. Service so far as been a little slower than the trucks but I am sure that’s because they’re just getting their sea legs at this new location. Overall, this is a great value for lunch with good and relatively healthy choices. Definitely a welcome option to the Leather District!
