Reviewing this based on it’s name sake: Phở. On my first test of good phở places, this place meets it’s mark: it has«phở» in the name. That drew me in the door On the second test of flavor, this place falls a little flat. I tried the beef phở(Phở Dac Biet), and can definitely say I’ve made phở from a recipe online that had more flavor than this. It was not bad by any measure, and I enjoyed my meal, but I am a bit of a phở-natic and like to believe I’ve tasted some of the best phở outside of Vietnam, so this was just«meh.» It satisfied a craving, if that’s what you’re looking for. If you have the patience to walk an additional 5 minutes, Phở Basil up the street is definitely a better choice. Also, for almost $ 10, they definitely skimped on the protein. The third test of location/interior/service passes just fine. It is conveniently located right off the E Northeastern stop and 39 bus. The interior looked nice but was nothing special. Service was standard. Overall, not a bad place to stop in for the lazy and hungry, but pass this by if you’re looking for some delicious phở.

This place used to be the crown jewel of Huntington Ave. Over the past two years the quality has gone down the drain. Today as I was eating lunch, which was a very bland bowl of beef phở, the folks who were about to be seated next to us were greeted with a live cockroach running across the table. This happened during the lunch time rush. Needless to say they left immediately and my colleague and I could not get the check any faster. The staff did not apologize nor did they wipe down the table after they killed the roach. I can only imagine the insects running through this place when the lights are off. I will not be back until the board of health inspects and deems this place acceptable.

The lunch special here is a great deal! We tried the Panang Curry and«Spicy» Eggplant(neither were very spicy) and were very pleased with both dishes. Most of the other restaurants in the area are fast-foody, so it’s a welcome change! Service was good, and we were in and out in 45 minutes. Really happy about the fresh veggies and good quality meats/tofu in our dishes!

This place is amazing!!! They deliver really fast and when you get it, it’s as if it just came out of the oven or stove or whatever. It’s really good and the people are very friendly. It’s good especially for vegetarians because they are able to make most of their entrees vegetarian. It’s a good break from northeastern dining hall.

Lunch box special is a pretty good deal: lunch noodle/rice dish +$ 2 for soup and salad and fried appetizer of some sort. Crab rangoon was great, crispy roll was bland, salad was under dressed, but the pad thai was great, and my coworker loved the korean fried rice. We both needed more hot sauce, and I wish they had something other than sriracha. Service was fast, we were in and out in less than an hour for lunch.

I got take out Phở Sate and there was a fly in my Phở. Granted it was a small fruit fly and not one of those giant flies but still. Any incest in a restaurant’s food is unacceptable.

I entered the place with some hesitation given its looks, menu and environment. My first course was a bit dull, but the main course was very fresh, large, and delicious. It’s Asian food for Americans, but it’s good. The service was pleasant too.

I’m a big fan of phở but the waitress for pick up tonight sucks. She acted entirely rude and threw the receipt on the floor. She didn’t ask me to sign as usual lady did. She rolled her eyes. So rude.

I love this place. Large menu with many different flavors. All phở soups(and they have many) are tasty, especially in winter. But the Ho Fun and Drunken noodles and the Panang Curry are incredible. Very good price for the quality if compared to similar places. I keep going at least once a month, whenever I’m nearby.

If I can’t decide what I want as take out on my way home from work, I always return back to phở&I. and I guess I’ve just had really great lucky with the To-go because each time I order, I never wait longer than 10 mins.(other reviewers have said otherwise) & if I’m too lazy to go pick it up they deliver pretty late too so that’s nice. Pad Thai is my go-to, and they serve pretty good portions so I can actually save some for the next day. Pad See Ew is my next favorite. I’m not very adventurous with thai food because I love getting the same thing over and over. I hear good things about their drunken noodles so I have yet to try that. Spring rolls are ridiculously overpriced. 2 rolls, $ 5– really?

I found the name rather misleading as I only went since I was craving phở. Only one other person on the restaurant looked to be eating phở. I was determined to get phở. I had to flip through the menu a bit before seeing the phở. This confusion aside I was very pleased with my experience here. I ordered fried spring rolls as an appetizer, phở of a vegetarian variety, and a soda as a treat. The soda was flat, which I didn’t personally mind, but such might discourage others. My server was very knowledgeable and changed out the dipping sauce for my spring rolls upon hearing my preferred diet in the most caring and accommodating way. The food was brought out in a timely matter and steaming hot, making me very excited. Everything was exactly what I wanted at such a reasonable price! I left completely satisfied, I will most likely be returning in the near future. A definite plus was that I did arrive pretty late in the day but was not rushed in any way by any employee. However, I still tried to eat rather quickly. Again, I will absolutely be returning… maybe even as soon as next week!

They have the best Thai food. I’ve been here a handful of times and have only tried their Thai dishes. I have yet to be disappointed.

I don’t get why this place is so popular. It’s mediocre food and overpriced. There’s better thai places around the area. I’ve been here a few times to give it another chance but was disappointed each time. Quality wise it’s not that great. The pad thai and fried rice are really salty.

It’s like a 3.5 if that means anything to you. Maybe not ok Pretty sad when I order my food in Viet and get a WHAT from the waitress, like I’m sorry I offended you. Anyways, food have their ups and downs. I love the lunch specials, plentiful and lots to eat yay! Love the coconut juice, get it everytime I order delivery. Avocado smoothies is good but no way one can mess up avocado. Love the pork rice plate, very tasty; however — I order 2 portion delivery and when I open the two boxes my box have half the meat of my friend’s… I literally had so little meat it was hard for me to proportion my rice with it so I don’t run out of meat. Make me so sad because it’s pretty yummy. Q_Q Their Phở is ok. The only time I had good phở was in VN or in Houston, so I guess I’m picky. Wonton noodle soup is good but there’s like 4 wontons and I don’t ever eat the yellow noodle in general so I’m literally throwing my money away. Their bo luc lac(Beef something) is pretty bad though. Or maybe this version isn’t my version so I don’t like it… But still it is literally too salty and too saucy and not enough rice(eat in version). I’m use to my Bo Luc Lac to come with french fries + mayo dipping serve on a heaping portion of greens at other places so I think I like the Viet version more. Don’t be offended if you like this and I don’t. But don’t say I didn’t warn ya about them sodium level. Hypernatremia up in here. My friend’s chicken fried rice was bland and boring. T^T I got negative points because I took my friend here and he didn’t like the food. Like why you let me down P&I :’(I have a reputation to maintain! Still, will continue to order delivery if I’m having some serious VN craving because there’s no other place that would deliver to me + I’m a bum that don’t leave my house to go to Chinatown for some DK goodness.

+ food’s good + meat is well cooked & seasoned + fairly authentic + prices are fair — To-go takes FOREVER(may not be the place’s actual fault, depends on the service you use) — the amount of meat you get varies VERY widely between you and your friends and what hour of the day you actually order I was really disappointed in the amount of meat vs. rice ratio of my meal. To be fair, we ordered 8 orders of the same thing(pork over rice) so perhaps the kitchen was overwhelmed, but between my meal and the others around me… there was a significant difference between the amount of meat we all had. I counted literally 8 slices of meat on my and a HEAP of rice. I can say that I was full… but it was definitely all carbs! If I wanted rice, I would’ve just gone home and done the rice-cooker. Taste wise, the meat was actually pretty good and they give you a serving sauce that you can pour over your rice. There’s a few slivers of some marinated vegetables on the side – all for $ 8.50 + tax/tip. MEH.

I have ordered from phở & I twice in the past few days, and every dish has been excellent. in addition, the food has been delivered within 20 – 30 minutes from the time of order and is hot and fresh. my first order included the tom yum noodle soup(large) since I wanted to try the more traditional phở that the restaurant is named for. the broth had an amazing flavor with lemongrass, chili, and lime, and it came stocked with mushrooms, chicken, shrimp, and noodles. I was able to finish everything except for the noodles by myself. the second time I ordered and loved the unseen noodle. the bean thread noodles had a light delicious flavor and consistency, and I enjoyed the mix of shrimp, chicken, egg, and other vegetables including big pieces of carrot and mushroom. i also tried and enjoyed the mi xao, which was a traditional lo mein dish that was very delicious. my husband also loved the fried rice, but he finished it before i could try any. for appetizer, i have also ordered the steamed gyoza. the dumplings were smaller and thinner, which made it a great starter that didn’t fill me up with excess dough. the homemade soy sauce on the side had an excellent flavor that i also used on some of my chicken from the other dish. phở & i is a great gem in the fenway area, and i am so glad that we discovered it. we will definitely be ordering from here on a frequent basis.

There’s a reason why most people walk the extra half mile or so down Huntington to Phở Basil instead of going to Phở & I. Because, let’s face it, Phở Basil is much, much better. However, at 7pm when you’re starving and don’t want to leave your dorm room because it’s balls cold outside and you have absolutely no dinner food closeby, Phở & I wins because it’s a cheaper delivery. Well, or so I thought. I got drunken noodles and some gyzoa. The total, including tip and delivery, came out to $ 20. Worth it? NOPE. The drunken noodles were too oily, the gyzo decent enough. Oh well, at least it was dinner and sated my hunger. There won’t be a next time though.

The food there is good, but the service… And I just found out the owner of this restaurant is the parents of Mark Zuckerberg’s wife, Priscilla Chan. Yeah, you are eating at Mark Zuckerberg’s mother in law’s restaurant.

I came here with my friend and wowww this place was bustlin’. It was pretty cold outside, so I can see why everybody wanted phở. We were seated at a bar sort of table. kinda short and facing like a wall. I ordered the normal beef phở and drowned it in sriracha like I normally do, but I feel like the phở here is super light and not oily/msg-y like the ones I normally get back home. I didn’t feel phở-burn after eating it. just felt nice and warm in my stomach as I ventured back into the snow. We also got the fried banana dessert afterwards. it was just whatever to be honest, but who gets desserts at a phở place?(my friend wanted it) All in all, pretty good experience here. Service was spotty but it’s forgivable since the food was pretty good.
