Food is good. Good beer selection. Nice, casual atmosphere. I’d give it 4 stars if the beers weren’t so expensive. $ 9 for a 16 oz draft pilsner?

I went with my daughter for a late lunch. Nice atmosphere, a little jammed for space. We both ordered Sean’s Simple Chicken. Janelle our server was terrific. Made us feel at home and had great energy. Half way through the meal my daughter said, «Yuck that is a bug.» I thought it was a big caper but it had legs! It was about 4 times bigger than a caper. We were shocked. I know that things happen, but I do not every remember finding a large green bug in my meal before. I understand that mistakes can happen. They did not clean the spinach properly. The key is how does the manager handle it when the mistake occurs. Janelle was shocked. She said you probably won’t pay for that or your meal. The manager NEVER came over to the table. Another woman came by to give us the check. No one came to apologize. I went to approach the manger and ask him about it. I thought for sure the meal would be comped. I asked him about what happened. Again no apology. He just looked at me and said, «ITHAPPENS.» I was shocked! I thought for sure they would comp the meal and I was going to give Janelle a $ 20 tip and leave. They did take off my daughters meal and I did not want to make a scene. I paid the bill and we left. I wish I would have taken a picture of the big green bug! The manager should have handled it much better. No empathy or effort deliver quality customer service.

Great eatery in the new up and coming /fashionable area of the Southend. Great fried chicken sandwich, excellent service with friendly workers. One of my favourite eateries. I had like to find outside chairs in the springtime as the place is excellent for people watching. Additionally, turn down the lights at night so its not so glowing inside while dining.

I love everything about Parish(both I and II — they are basically the same, except II is alwys less crowded.) The chil space, great beer list, good cocktails, friendly staff and the sandwiches. Oh, the sandwiches!!! I love the regal Regis the most, but the Zuni Roll, The Benny, and the La Mistral are all excellent(The last being INCREDIBLY rich, and incredibly delicious.) The only sandwich I’ve had that doesn’t impress me at all is the Bond chicken sandwich. And the potato salad is perfect. Always ask for that.(Tho some of the other sides are good too!) The spicy purple cabbage slaw that usually comes with the Benny is also excellent! For apps, Sean’s Simple Meatball is excellent. The veggie potstickers here were legendary(PLEASEPLEASEBRINGTHEMBACK!) For salads, the hot and cold chicken salad is excellent(as was the late, great nicoise). This is an awesome, chill, affordable place you can go over and over again.

Been here several times. Went recently again for lunch. Great sandwiches and beer. My wife enjoyed the half portion of Sean’s Simple Chicken. Still a great portion, and very tasty. The rest of our party enjoyed the Zuni Roll, a classic, and the Charlie Max, a delicious pastrami sandwich. One in our party ordered the Benny and didn’t particularly care for it. We all tried it and felt that everything was too pickled; the vinegar and sourness overpowered any other tastes. Will definitely go again, but do wish they had fries or homemade chips as a side instead of just potato salad or slaw.

Was very impressed by the sandwiches we ordered(grilled cheese and riolsta?) They were amazingly crafted. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly, especially on St. Patrick’s day. It was late at night and slow, but they have the roll up windows which was awesome.

So… I love Parish. Have a mug, come here often, etc. Tonight, I ordered the Lulu BLT, a favorite, but it came out and only had 3 of the usual 4 pieces. When I asked the server, she said that the kitchen said it was a modification??? What the heck Parish? Lame change and stole me of a delicious lunch for tomorrow. Not pleased with my usual neighborhood bar.

Go for the food… the Mexican meatball or meatloaf sandwiches always fill me up. I have been here a few times over the last few years and though the menu is the same as the one at the Boylston spot, I think the service is better at Arlington x Boylston. Nevertheless, if you’re in these parts this is a place to get a great«gourmet» sandwich.

I like the atmosphere of this place and the food is on point too– the parish chicken burger was huge and delicious. Some items were overpriced($ 10 for onion rings) but it’s a nice place to eat with friends. The staff is really friendly and accommodating. I’ll definitely be coming back.

Good sandwiches and very interesting concept, taking the best sandwiches from around the city. I’ve been eating here for years, but the menu hasn’t changed much.

Overpriced but the food and beer menu is superb. Specifically, their vegetarian blackbean quesadilla is top notch, as is the pasta bolog, some of their sandwiches, and the onion rings. On the beer side their mug deal is good(130 beers in 180 days and you get a free customized mug FORLIFE) and makes this a local watering hole.

Oh Parish. Price is the ONLY thing keeping you from a solid 5. $ 20 for a tuna burger? Really? I find myself always ordering vegetarian here and there’s a reason why: prices are steep! But I love love love the atmosphere, the music, and the beer selection. And I am a BIG fan of their egg sandwich, which is spectacular and a good deal for $ 12! Despite the overinflated prices, I keep coming back here because I love the atmosphere and the people and the beer! Always find myself having a great time here… And will continue coming back every time I’m in town, for sure! Also: they serve food really late: always a good thing to know !!!

Parish is a good place with a nice selection of creative(and very large sandwiches) as well as a good craft beer selection. I had«The Benny» which I thought was excellent.

Good food with OK service. I’ve been here twice and both times every dish missed the point of being great because they were just too damn salty. Awesome beer selection and great sandwiches, if you can handle the sodium.

Summary: slow and less than the Boylston location. Meal time: lunch on a Friday Service: painfully slow Food: bland; ordered the Benny and there are so much bread I can barely taste the chicken. This is a really bad attempt at a Vietnamese sandwich.

The food was Al Gore boring. It was plated nicely but visual appeal means nothing when it comes to taste. Taste is unaccounted for nor is menu selection. Do you like pickles and bacon? That’s basically the menu. Don’t get me wrong I love bacon… but I also like my arteries.

My first experience at Parish was just, well, meh. I actually held off on writing a review at that time, because of how much my coworkers rave about this place. I assumed I must have gone on an off night. But when I visited for lunch last week, I left feeling the exact same way. I ordered the Mexican Meatball sandwich. The meatballs had a good cilantro flavor and were kicked up a notch by the jalapeño au jus. With the addition of some fresh jalapenos, it was definitely worth trying, but nothing I would come back for. I took a couple of bites of the famous Zuni Roll as well and officially do NOT understand what the hype is about. Every bite was just warm bland turkey. There was not enough contrast in texture and the chipotle was absolutely unrecognizable in the cranberry sauce. Meh, meh, meh. I think my coworkers may shun me, but no more Parish for this gal.

Best sandwiches in Boston. If you’re looking for oversized, deli-style sandwiches you’re better off going to Sam lagrassas, but for unique, gourmet sandwiches this is the best. I had the Zuni Roll– well balanced wrap and liked that the sauce was on the side. Potatoe salad was well balanced, not too much mayo but had great flavor.

I think it’s pretty cool that all the sandwiches are created by local chefs in the area! I got the Eggplant Milanesa, comes with a Chipotle Mexican slaw. If you are the small percent of people who don’t like cilantro(like me), avoid the slaw and substitute for something else. But aside from the cilantro in the slaw, it was pretty good. The Eggplant Milanesa was good. The thing I didn’t like about the sandwich was the bread. It was good, but the bread felt like it was super buttered up and maybe even slightly greasy. Maybe it’s just me? Lastly, service is slow. It took us a long time to get our dishes and the place wasn’t even packed. I think I’ll give this place another shot and try a different sandwich.

My favorite place to eat in Boston. Granted, I go here pretty regularly because it’s so close to my school, but that doesn’t take away from the plethora of high-quality options. Of all the reviews I have on Unilocal,I would consider this review to be the most credible; I have ate almost every menu item this establishment offers. For appetizers, the onion rings are to die for. I’ve been to some pretty high end places that offer onion rings for twice the price(think Grille 23) and still don’t live up to the flavor of the Parish onion rings. For wing enthusiasts, the Parish wings are also a must-try. They are a little expensive for the amount that you get, but these baked wings are an experience that every wing enthusiast needs to try with hearty helpings of the banana mango chutney sauce served on the side. The egg quesadilla is also delicious, but definitely more of a deep cut to be tried after you’ve been hooked to Parish. That’s not an affront the dish, the wings and the onion rings are just that damn good! The sandwiches are the reason I keep coming back here. There are very few sandwiches I haven’t tried here and even less sandwiches I don’t like. My personal favorite is the Mexican Meatball. If you can handle spicy, then you have to try this on your first visit. Props to you if you can finish that sandwich. The Parish Chicken Sandwich is very good, but a little overhyped. It’s delicious, but not incredibly unique. The Egg Salad Lyonnaise is another favorite of mine, and recently at that. I had stayed away from this sandwich for the longest time, as I generally despise egg salad. If you’re on the same boat as me in that respect, fear not! It doesn’t have the usual overpowering mayonnaise and calling it an egg salad sandwich honestly isn’t even an appropriate title. The Rialto is very good, if a little less than filling in my opinion. The Eggplant Milanese is an excellent option for vegetarians. It also accomplishes the rare feat of filling my stomach(something that vegetarian dishes generally don’t do for me). Honestly, after I typed that sentence I realized that I was going to run down the whole menu and that is way too TLDR. In short, try everything! The only menu items I feel lukewarm about are the Chicken Herb Sandwich and the Spicy Tuna Burger. Not bad sandwiches, but honestly didn’t leave that much of an impression. Fairly easy to get a table in short order here(even on weekends) and the beer menu is EXTENSIVE. Got to go, I’ve just convinced myself to go to Parish.

Good food, beer and service. But the bar stools and foot rests suck! I’m 5’10 and can’t sit comfortably in the stools. I leave quicker than I normally would because of this.

I often come to this location because it’s right down the street from my house. It’s a great location but service is hit or miss. Tonight i sat at the bar next to some very handsome men. That was the only part of the experience that was decent. The music was so loud that I thought I was at a dance club for a second. It’s torn between a sports bar and a neighborhood bar trying for club status. I’m thinking it’s not a good idea to have a dance club on Mass Ave and Tremont St. If you come in a «on» night then the service is great but many nights seem to be «off nights» so be patient if it’s an «off» night. Get the Sean’s chicken. I think you will love it as much as I do. Yummy yummy yummy!

Parish is awesome. Love the hummus plate appetizer; so on point. I always get the Boylston chicken sandwich and it’s fantastic. The tuna burger is also delicious. Great spot, have come here quite a few times and will continue to do so.

This location is an unfortunate pairing to the Boylston St. flagship. I want to cut them some slack because we went here during the second… or third? … snowstorm during the Snowpocalypse of 2015, but honestly, it was pretty atrocious all around. The best thing about the experience was the onion rings: lightly battered, crispy, and a rather large portion. It also came with a delightful dipping sauce. This is where the delights ended. After walking over an hour through Boston neighborhoods looking for a place that was open, I ordered some flavored hot toddy. The bartender sloppily made the drink, spilling it everywhere after filling it to the brim of the glass, and forgot at least two ingredients(one of which was a garnish lime, but still.) He was pretty odd throughout our visit, continually asking us what we wanted, and rushing us through everything. The lines were dirty, evidenced by the odd taste of three separate beers. Out of no where, the staff began clearing the room of tables and chairs, seemingly closing the place down. We were ready to leave anyway due to the other unfortunate events, but were surprised that there was no explanation given by our bartender. As we walked out we heard one of the other servers say to a table of people that they were closing for renovations. At this point we understood why the bartender was rushing us, but a simple explanation of this would have been a better way to manage the situation. I love the Boylston St. location and would choose that one over this one any day.

Can’t get enough of this place! I’m here at least once a week and am currently working on my mug… 125 beers in 180 days! The staff is fantastic, beer selection is massive, and the food is truly delicious. My favorites are the Hot and Cold Chicken Salad, Veggie Potstickers, and Sean’s Simple Chicken. The Mac & Cheese is awesome but definitely get it with bacon! Also, always get the potato salad as your side — you won’t regret it.

Ate here on a Friday night around 7:00pm. The restaurant was at 75% capacity and they only had 3 waitresses on. I just had an appetizer, the meatball that comes with a side of crustini bread. The meatball which is a blend of meats including veal was delicious! The gravy(sauce to you non Italians) was perfect. Reminded me of my grandmother’s recipe, God rest her soul. I wanted to give them 4 stars but the service was terrible. A 10 minute wait before anyone came to our table, the bus boy putting the tray of clean utensils on the extra chair at our table and using it as a staging area to put them away, and another 15 minute wait to cash us out. I always tip 20%+, but tonight I could only bring myself to paying 15%. Great foof, terrible service.

Great service. Soccer game was on and we got to sit side by side to watch the game. The food. The Zuni. The cole slaw. I didn’t taste any of the bacon, havarti, or smoked cranberry sauce in the crisp turkey roll up. The smoked cranberry sauce on the side was unique, though not berry memorable. The coleslaw was good. $ 12 ain’t worth it. The beer selection is great. A slew of IPAs, stouts, and foreign beers. If you drink all their 125 beers on the menu in a few months you get your own beer mug and an engraving for free.
