Just had a horrible experience here. I don’t have a car, so am limited to my laundry places. I lug a big load from my apartment to the front door, where there is a sign that they are opening at 10:00am today(not 8:00). It is 11:30. Door locked, lights are off. Out of sheer frustration I stood there for five minutes, and miraculously somebody walked up(a worker) and let me in. I put my clothes in the washer, add the detergent, and go to set the wash to «cold» and the dial has been ripped out of the machine. I had to switch my clothes from one machine to the other, and since the detergent was already in I got liquid laundry soap all over my hands and arms in the process. I really wish I could be happy with this place, because I’m all for supporting small businesses and local places. But, ugh! I’ve really had enough.

I will never come here again. In fact, I will advise anyone in the area to avoid coming here after my last experience. Short story: i bring in my dry cleaning and ask for a quick turnaround. I ask them if they can accommodate me and they reply yes. They further state that i should come in the end of the next day to pick it up. Flash forward the next day: I arrive the following day, an hour before close and they told me it wouldn’t be ready for a few more days. Now this wouldn’t normally bother me, but i asked specifically. I had a wedding that i needed the dry cleaning for. So now i’m SOL. In addition to discovering that my clothes were not ready as promised, but i also learned that the customer service here is of the fuck off variety. No effort on their side was given to resolve the issue. No calls to a manager were made. Nothing. They pretty much told me they didnt care and i would get my clothes a few days later. No apology was given. So they dont keep their promises and if there is an issue they will tell you tough shit. Yeah, that really seems like the place that i want to do business with.

For some reason I felt compelled to write a review for this laundromat. Maybe becasue it seems like it gets no love from Unilocal.I recently checked it out for the first time last weekend and became a fan. In my hay day I’ve had a lot of different laundry experiences. From college dorm experience where the laundry room as across from my room, to having to drive my laundry to another location far away, to having laundry in-house. As far as commercial laundry establishments go, this one is pretty legit. Given that I just moved to the area I was a bit concerned that laundry prices would be ridiculous because it is in Oak Square which I see as having a higher economic status than other parts of Boston. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the not so shocking prices. Basic top loading machines go for $ 2.25, front loading washers(smallest size) go for $ 2.75. Being a person who just moved from a in-house laundry unit where I paid only $ 1.25 for washing and nothing for drying it’s a bit of a jump but not too bad. The shock was that it’s about .25 per 5min of drying time. I think I’ll be investing in a laundry line on my porch for this summer to reduce that amount. However, for 3 weeks worth of laundry I spent about $ 16 in total. Not to mention on an early Saturday afternoon the laundromat was pretty empty. Perks include awesome ambiance, televisions, wifi(did not use but know it exists), flyers from neighborhood organizations along the windowsill, a helpful attendant, comfy couches, and not to mention a Dunkin Donuts right next door. I have yet to explore the other laundromats in the neighborhood but given it’s convenience and general ambiance, I’ll be going back.

Good service and value. The staff here have always been very helpful and friendly. They even gave me a free cup of detergent when mine was left overnight in my car and ended up frozen when I went to do my laundry. They also have a quick turn-around for«dollar-a-pound» fluff n’ fold service as well as dry-cleaning that is reasonably priced. Another perk is that, although it is 25 cents per 5 minutes in the dryers, they have 4 high-powered dryers that make up for the cost in efficiency. I would recommend doing your laundry here if you live in the area.

Please note that I have never been to the physical location as I get my sheets picked up, laundered and delivered. As a massage therapist, I spend a lot of money on wash and fold services. I was getting completely screwed over by my last laundry service and by a stroke of luck found this place. The customer service is terrific, they have great prices on wash and fold and they literally bend over backward to please me and keep me as a customer. I hope they stay in business a long time!
