I stumbled across this gem while going to visit with a client. Not only is their food phenomenal, their customer service makes you feel so welcome. I had the penne alla vodka and it was delicious and reasonable priced. You can tell the food is made with love. I will definitely be back!

I am a pizza snob. There is no great pizza in Southie, but if you want some Really GOOD pizza, Mirisola’s is it. Don’t waste your time elsewhere. The only downside is that they don’t deliver, but their price, quality, and friendliness overcome that so 5 stars it is.

I just places an order for a half and half pizza. Upon picking it up, everyone at this location was nice and courteous. However, once we got home and opened the box, we realized that only one half of the pizza was freshly made. In fact it was more like 80% of the pizza as there were 6 pieces of one type and only 3 pieces of the four cheese pizza. The four cheese pizza was incredibly dry and cold as if it was just taken out of a fridge. The dough was tough to bite into, so we had to throw it away. It was very disappointing. I called and notified them.

This place has some of the best pizza I’ve ever had. The service is great and I love the atmosphere of the quaint restaurant. They recommended their pasta with vodka sauce and said it was their best dish; well they were right. It was amazing. I’ve tried other Italian restaurants, even in the North End, and I prefer this place over all of them.

Best eggplant in southie hands down. Their eggplant subs come on a braided sesame roll that compliments their sweet marinara. The eggplant is always thin and perfectly breaded. A must have

Looking for a great local family owned restaurant, go no further. We had the supreme pizza and it’s what I expected, great. Friendly local staff. Go in and enjoy.

Fantastic family-run establishment in South Boston. I ordered carry-out on a below-freezing night in February. The penne alla vodka was ready in 20 minutes. It was excellent and $ 12 is hard to beat for the quality. I’ll definitely be back soon.

I live two blocks down from Mirisola’s, and despite the abundance of small family-owned Italian eateries in the South Boston area, Mirisola’s is still my go-to. They are happy to get call-ahead pick-up orders that are usually done within 20 minutes of the call. My one reservation is that there have been a couple times when the quality of food was not quite up to the high taste standards established during previous visits. Maybe the sauce is a bit more watery than other times, or the meat is a little tough now and again. Whatever it is, it hasn’t stopped me from going back. Try the penne alla vodka.

I came here last weekend with my sister for my birthday dinner. It’s definitely a family run, small restaurant which is part of what makes it so great. There aren’t a lot of tables, so you might want to check ahead if coming with a big group, but we found seating easily enough. The staff/owners were very friendly and although we were told it would be 40 minutes for our food, it came out much quicker. We ordered a bottle of wine(good stuff) and both got pasta. The food was delicious, and although the pasta was almost too chewy, we cleaned up our plates. Overall a great experience!

Great Little neighborhood spot. Whenever the pork tenderlion is on special I get it.

Don’t know about the pizza, but the pasta is completely mediocre. I didn’t care that it looks like a standard village house of pizza, because I thought from the reviews that I’d be treated to decent italian. Wish I had gone to café porto bello or salvatores.

The best eggplant parmigiano in South Boston, without a doubt. Not a fancy place by any means, a family owned corner store.

This is exactly the type of place you want to have in your neighborhood. I’ve only ordered takeout from here so far, but its always been delicious, isn’t overpriced, and is nearby. So far I’ve had the eggplant parm, chicken parm, and an italian calzone. All three were delicious, restaurant quality dinners but only cost $ 11 – 12. This is definitely a little hidden gem in Southie.

Had great take out tonight. Very friendly place too! Spaghetti and meatballs and chicken Marsala were fabulous! Great prices too. Don’t miss out on this hidden gem in Southie! The atmosphere is quaint and quite comfy — not stuffy! Will definitely go back to try out more selections!

Not much to look at when you walk in(sub shop?) but thanks to Unilocalers we stayed and were glad to do so. I had a bowl of their Chicken Soup which was very good. I would love to have it on many a cold day. The owner encouraged me to have the baked haddock(special) and he was spot on with his reco. Didn’t go into an Italian place for either of these items, but very pleased that I did. I don’t get down this way very often, but I would go back for sure

If ever you wander into this gorgeous little grotto of a neighborhood during a pretty summer twilight, you should cap the experience with a visit to this restaurant. First thing’s first: this is a mom and pop through and through, so don’t expect more service than you’d get from your grandmother. This is good food(I had the Penne a Vodka, and it didn’t disappoint), but it’s not fast and it doesn’t come with bells and whistles. You grab a menu. You sit down. You place your order after a bit. And then you wait. You grab a Peroni or tussle with your phone for twenty-five minutes. You overhear friendly banter from neighborhood locals who know the owners by name and demand they come over and sit for a second. When you get your plate, you enjoy it thoroughly – and by the time you go up to the counter to pay, you realize an hour of your life has just been well-spent, and you’ll feel like only your grandmother could have possibly done better. Tip well – Mirisola deserves it.

A great neighborhood joint, this is a delicious place to visit if you have time to wait. The eggplant parm didn’t fall victim to drippy/droopy syndrome and had great flavor. I had the haddock special, which had a simple breading spiced up and perfectly balanced. I wouldn’t order the side of ziti with it again, but i would definitely mow down on that fish for second helpings.

Best pizza available in Southie. Not the whole city though. No menu online which forces you to go in which leads to a mafia style set up. We came in and they’re was a number of old timers crushing wine and playing cards. Don’t let that scare. The owner knew right away we weren’t familiar with this place and helped us immediately. Great little gem with the sopranos feel.

I give the ziti and meatballs a 3/5, but the penne vodka a 4/5, so a 3.5, but 4 for rounding. Prices are fair, and the salads are good as well. Marinara was nothing to write home about, but the vodka sauce is legit. I would come back to this place.
