Mike the Mover

Awful. The same here. Never showed up. The worst, kept promising till the very last minute so that it was too late to hire somebody else.

Mike is terrible. I found him on Craigslist Boston to move a sofa. In spite of having several days notice and phone communications on the days leading up to and on the day of scheduled pickup, he called me an hour before he was supposed to pick it up and said he was late at another job and wouldn’t be able to do it that day. He then basically said he didn’t care about my business: direct quote, «I’m not going to leave a $ 400 job for a $ 100 job». He also wouldn’t do it later because he didn’t want to get stuck in traffic. Finally, he promised to do it first thing in the morning the next day. He no-​showed and is unreachable by phone, and now I am scrambling to find someone else. Absolutely atrocious.

I hired Mike the Mover to do my move this past weekend. I should have known better when he said he didn’t have a website and only accepted cash for first time customers. He gave me a flat rate for the move and estimated how long it would take. He advertises that it’s $ 40/​hr, which is per man and without the truck. He showed up not 1, not 2, but 3 HOURS late. His truck was not so much a truck, but a 15 passenger extended van. My stuff did not all fit in it. It was raining by the time he showed up and he didn’t bother to cover my furniture and dragged it through my new house all wet and didn’t even offer to dry it off. He scratched up my furniture and walls and lost several screws somewhere in his van. This guy was awful. He didn’t offer to give me a discount for being so late and I had to haggle with him for it. Absolutely ridiculous. DO NOT USE THIS GUY!!!
