Steaks over cooked. Service very slow. Walnut salad was small. Food took forever to arrive.

While the food originally tasted great, I ended up getting food poisoning from the shrimp scampi. The food was overpriced for what you get in return. MUCH better seafood at different restaurants in Boston, will not be back.

Went with out of town guest from Va. Clam roll very tasty but only had 4 clams ! Lobster roll had no taste at all, a total rip off. Would not recommend either, very embarrassed for what I thought was a a good restaurant.

Bad. Average food. Rude staff. Abysmal service. Our server brought us the menu and we didn’t see her again for a while. The appetizers came in about 40 minutes, and that was after we complained to the manager(who brought us the food). Then we had to ask the manager to bring us the check again, since the server was nowhere to be found. She finally came to collect the check and gave a one-sentence, half-hearted apology. The only reason this review isn’t a one star is because the food wasn’t awful and the manager was very polite. He comp’d one appetizer and gave us his card, in case we were in town again.

Sat at the bar as I usually do for the atmosphere and hopeful great service. In that respect, they did not disappoint. The bartenders were great. Very helpful with menu recommendations and friendly service. I opted for the scallops. They were delicious, but like many other reviews state, they are simply over priced — both for drinks and food. May be worth it for the steaks which I hear are great as well. Tbd next time.

So it has been years since I’ve hit McCormick & Schmick’s bar area happy hour. Back then the place was hopping and I remember getting one of their burgers. This time I had my choice of a few remaining tables and I was wanting to try out their Baja Fish Tacos southwest jicama slaw — 2 tacos for $ 5, so I ordered up one of those and a Calamari roasted tomato sauce $ 5 for good measure. This was going to be my dinner. The batter coated fish arrived on grilled flour tortillas, smothered with lettuce, corn, and what not(though I’m not sure I could sense any of the mentioned jicama), and doused with a creamy sauce. The calamari was mainly rings with one cluster of crisp legs, and a few pieces of similarly battered and fried veggies, namely your ubiquitous pepper, carrots, and uncommonly artichoke hearts. Nice touch! Yes, this was not a healthy meal. But it was an enjoyable one. My server was great! Friendly, smiley, checking in on me, Tina. Her faves on the happy hour menu include the Cheeseburger $ 5(full sized!), Seafood Stuffed Mushrooms $ 7(they number 3, but she likes them even though she doesn’t usually like mushrooms), Buffalo Shrimp $ 7, and others really like the Coconut Shrimp $ 9(was it for 6?). I’ll probably have to stop by again sometime to give some of those a try. McCormick & Schmick’s Happy Hour at the Bar Monday Thru Friday 4pm — 6:30pm $ 3/$ 5/$ 7/$ 9(please refer to the menu pic posted) 4 stars *** 4⁄2016 *** I hit McCormick & Schmick’s Happy Hour for a bite before heading elsewhere. Service was friendly enough when it was extended, but the lag was a bit long with my waitress serving three additional parties to my own. I cobbled together a meal with an order of the Fish Tacos(yes, again) $ 5 and Coconut Shrimp $ 9 orange horseradish marmalade. The shrimp arrived 4 good sized creatures to the plate, and the tacos 2 bundles of fish. The shrimp plump and tasty, though not the best rendition I ever had, but the sauce did nothing for it. Not sure why they would think that horseradish here was a good idea. As for the fish tacos, they were fat bundles and acceptable, but somehow they seemed better the first time I had them. I could see that the hand that prepared these were not the same, and they tasted different and were a bit more rustic. 3.5 stars

I came here with my co-workers during our lunch break and for the overall experience it wasn’t that bad. It was the last day of restaurant week so we decided to go there. For starters, I ordered the clams casino and it wasn’t bad. I felt that the clams was a little bit burnt but not to the point that it was inedible. My main entrée was the northwest salmon sauté. The salmon with the sauce was delicious as well as the rice which tasted just as good when you mix it with the sauce too. The green beans that came with it was on the salty side. Last, for dessert I ordered the mini molten chocolate cake and it was okay. Since we had to leave because we were running out of time, we got our dessert to go. Because of that, I didn’t get the ice-cream that comes with the cake since they couldn’t pack that to go, which was understandable. The cake though, it was a nice size and light. I was actually expecting for some chocolate to come out from the middle when I cut it, but it was normal like a regular cake. I wish I could’ve given more stars, but it took a while for the meals to come out. We were there for almost two hours. The waiter was very nice, but he forgot to give us bread until we requested for some. We were just wondering why every other table had some especially since we were the second table there that sat down and everyone after us got bread. It wasn’t a bad restaurant and I really like the salmon but everything else could show some improvement.

It was ok. I was not impressed by my kobe burger, but the mashed potatoes were buttery and smooth. My companions said their food was fantastic. Very good service. Atmosphere was typical upscale Boston pub. Unless I find the food a lot better another time, there is nothing here to recommend it when there are so many other places to eat.

Recently had a nice little lunch here with my daughter. I had a beautiful, creamy lobster bisque that tasted like sin, and my daughter had her standard cheese burger, which she said was very good. Didn’t care for the coconut shrimp app but maybe that’s just me. Staff was friendly and attentive. Hostess is from our neighborhood and could engage my daughter about Pokemon — very important these days. Love coming here in the summer with my mother in law to dine outside. This is an old family favorite.

Me and my boyfreind had a great, unrushed lunch experience here!!. George was our server. He is awesome, he knows the menu and he was very freindly. My boyfreinds first time in Faneuil hall marketplace and he made it a great experience. He checked on us frequently, we never had empty drinks, his attire and demeanor was welcoming and professional. It was not busy, and the restaurant was cozy and warm. It was raining outside. Seemed like the cocktails were handcrafted. The menu was small but had everything from fresh salads, seafood and steaks including filets and oscar. We spent over 100 $ and we’re satisfied with 2 appetizers, 2 breadbowl seafood cornchowders, 4 drinks and an entrée. We will be returning to try the rest of the menu! Thanks George!

I brought my family here for my moms birthday. We wanted to sit outside on their patio because they have prime seating right in the heart of Faneuil hall. The seating outside is amazing and there’s no price on that experience. Unfortunately after 15 minutes it started raining and we had to be moved inside upstairs, that completely ruined our experience because the lighting was equivalent to a dungeon it was so dark. I should’ve brought a flashlight just so I could keep my own parents. I did like that they custom printed my moms name on the menu, they’ll actually do that for anyone celebrating an event, that’s a very nice touch On the food quality, it’s very comparable To Cheesecake Factory which isn’t bad but I’m paying Del frescos prices at a $ 100 a person so I was let down. Overall I wouldn’t recommend it, at that price point just go to Del frescos or Strip by Strega or Mortons

Stopped in for the Happy Hour specials after work, because the prices honestly can’t be beat. In fact, after searching for happy hour specials in the downtown area, I decided on McCormick & Schmick’s immediately, because I’ve had such great experiences(at this location) in the past. I knew going in to it that the specials weren’t going to be the same size or quality as the regular priced options, I mean really what kind of sense would that make? But I figured the deal still couldn’t be beat, so off we went. We ordered a variety of happy hour specials, as well as beers. The service was great, from the time we walked in to the time we left. When our first dish came out, we were really surprised by the way it looked and tasted. But, as I mentioned, we were getting it for a fraction of the cost, so we definitely weren’t complaining. Our main courses were the same sort of thing; not what we expected entirely, but we weren’t going to send them back. The waitress even offered to get us a different dish before putting them down, without us saying a word. We refused and ate our meals with a smile, even though there were very obvious issues. We did bring this to the managers attention, mostly because we’ve been to this particular location multiple times and have been blown away by the quality of the steaks and seafood. We figured maybe they were having an off night. We specifically stated we didn’t want a discount, didn’t want anything off of our bill, because we did eat everything. The manager(I forget her name) apologized profusely, and brought us back our bill personally. She only charged us for our drinks, and took all of the food completely off. I was completely taken aback by the excellent customer service that the staff and management provided, and the steps they took to make the situation right. We will definitely be back to for our next special occasion because of the way this small slip up was handled.

The food was good though overpriced. The shrimps were clearly fresh but the chicken was chewy and dry. Location is phenomenal. What I did not appreciate was service. Our waiter took very long to deliver our drinks even though they were not full. He clearly listened to the order with half ear and brought be a wrong drink. I wanted a non-alcoholic feature drink and he brought me an alcoholic cocktail. When we asked if they were sure there was no alcohol in it, they realized he brought us the wrong one and they corrected the mistake immediately. In conclusion it has a great location but since it is touristy, the service is bad and the prices are high for the quality.

I enjoyed my afternoon here but when I really think of what I enjoyed it didn’t have much to do with McCormick & Schmick’s. I loved sitting outside in the shade for lunch. The breeze was lovely and the waitress friendly. I had time to kill so I wasn’t in a hurry, which was a good thing. My lunch without an app or bread lasted almost 1.5hrs for one person. I ordered salmon, it was tiny but cooked well. It took forever to come out and not till I was already done did I see my waitress again. I did order dessert and coffee, no refill or offer to refill the coffee. Lunch was okay, I have had better in much less expensive spots. With all the other options I am not sure I would eat here a second time. Food was ok, service was less than ok, but their location is fantastic.(1 person, lunch, 1 beer, dessert with coffee $ 45)

If my friends did not have vouchers I would have given this a half star. Awkward waiters, slow service, cold bread, and less than mediocre food. My friend ended up returning her lobster bisque, since she did not ask for lobster bisque with her salt. Awful! They may want to bring in new management to save this place. I assume it’s still withstanding because of gullible tourist money and perhaps the happy hour drinks. I’ve been to other M&Ss around the country, this happened to be the worst experience.

This place is a pure turist trap and there are much better places to eat. The only thing that was okay were our drinks. First off the bread in the bread basket seemed a bit stale — like it had been pre cut and been standing out a while. We ordered the chicken parm, fish and chips and the spaghetti for our daughter off the kids menu. The first thing we found was that our daughters spaghetti had a spicy tomato sauce on it, which she wouldn’t eat. We complained and the waiter came back with a plate of spaghetti with the same spicy sauce on the side. So my daughter had spaghetti without anything on it for dinner. My chicken was fine, but the pasta that accompanied it was so terribly bland tasting that I had to salt and pepper it a lot so it was half way edible. My poor husband and his fish and chips was the worst. It was his first time in Boston and he wanted fish and was looking forward to fish and chips. Half of the fish was so overcooked that it was hard and inedible. Some of the fries where still raw too. The waitress handled our complaints very well and we ended up not paying for the spaghetti and fish and chips. I am tempted to give them 2 stars on that account, but they simply failed so badly with the food that I don’t believe that they are worth more than one star rating.

Besides the location in Quincy Market, with a view of street performers and the city, this restaurant leaves much to be desired and it’s way overpriced. We sat on the patio, which was lovely. My husband had a skunked Harpoon IPA and I had a glass of the only Malbec they had in a glass. It was okay. The food was bland. Our stuffed mushrooms lacked seasoning. I put my own salt and pepper on since the chef forgot. My meal, a «stuffed shrimp and filet» combo, was really small and lackluster for the price. $ 40 for 3 medium shrimp, topped with a scoop of bland stuffing, next to 4 small bites of steak, «steamed» green beans that were clearly sautéed, and some mash that may have sat a while. Everything was ice cold. Not gonna lie– it wasn’t so bad that I didn’t eat it. I was hungry and I spent a lot on it! But seriously regretted my order. My husband’s scallops were over-cooked and served with potato hash that wouldn’t rival my local diner. After our meal, service got really slow and it took an eternity to get our bill. When I went inside to use the restrooms, I was overcome by the smell of fish from the kitchen, and the bathrooms and carpeting looked filthy and falling apart. This restaurant is a tourist trap. I left feeling like I would have been better off buying anything from the fleet of local food trucks waiting outside by the park. Lesson learned.
