Mary Baker Library For the Betterment of Humanity

Holy freaking STRANGE! I actually encourage everyone to go here once, just so you can experience how weird it is! It’s like forcing someone to taste your nasty food, or smell something pungent just to show them how bad it smells.
From the minute I walked in, I was met with blank stares and robotic talk. The maparium was interesting. The tour guide was anything but human, and I doubt she cared for much but the betterment of an alien race… certainly not humanity. It was interesting to catch the eyes of the tourists in there… gazes of fear and regret.
The actual art of the maparium was pretty cool. I’ve never been inside a giant glass reversed globe before. The presentation of this artwork, though, was incredibly odd. Random overview of speaking «hello» in a few different languages… followed by a brief, inaccurate history of human settlement and colonization, followed by an unexplained video of a space shuttle blasting into orbit.
Go for the experience, but expect goosebumps.
