I got takeout on a Friday night, and it was pretty delicious, though the quote time was 15 minutes over the phone when in fact, it was 3x that. The team was gracious and kept apologizing as they’re working out the kinks of a new restaurant. Food was still hot when we got home and the king crab legs were meaty!!! The shrimp and clams combo were delicious and the gentleman who took my order suggested the combo for a better price! Because I have a 3 year old, we decided to get takeout, but I definitely want to go back and enjoy the whole experience… It’s not as good as Hot + Juicy in Vegas but getting there!!!

Holly Crab! Very nice food, and the service was awesome. It was my first time trying the boiling crab and other seafood that were ‘Louisiana’ style, and I loved them all. Ryan and Nicole took great care of us while we enjoyed the seafood. Ask Nicole for her recommendation!!, she is super nice. Def. try king crab and dungeness crab!!!, they were the best.

Pretty good in my opinion, but this is the first time I’ve ever had Cajun seafood like this! But it was definitely a good experience. I came with a big group, we ordered 2 bags of shrimp, 2 bags of the king crab, 1 bag of crawfish and 1 bag of clams. The sauce is delicious and depending on which one you pick, the spicy one gets hot! We ordered a small side of sausages, which we thought was going to come in the bags of the seafood. So that was a surprise. Suggestion to Holly crab: put it in the bags so the sausage can soak up the amazing sauce! We didn’t even know we actually showed up on the grand opening day, but the staff were really nice, always checking in and making sure we had plenty of napkins and gloves and what not. I think what might be helpful for them is to get some more carb-y things on the menu because some of us were still hungry. Overall, great experience. Especially since our bill came out to be about $ 17 each for all that seafood!

i haven’t been to boiling crab in california, but i know that it’s modeled off the same principle. you order shellfish(crab, lobster, shrimp, crawfish), choose your sauce(holly crab sauce = garlic butter + lemon pepper sauce + some other magic sauce), choose your spice level(mild, medium, hot, can’t remember off the top of my head what the other one was??) and that’s it. there are some sides, you can also order oysters, but the star of the show is really the seafood in a bag(how it gets coated in all the saucy delicious goodness). our server also recommended for us to try the rice balls– they are essentially rice balls with seaweed and sesame seeds in there. they were pretty good at soaking up the sauce. i recommend breaking up the rice ball into smaller pieces, squishing the smaller bits of rice together, dunking them in the sauce, and voila! sauce vehicle. there were appetizers and drinks, but i didn’t get any of them. i noticed a special on the chalkboard at the end, which was king crab legs and some other entrée… should have noticed it earlier. next time!

Really delicious food and a lot of range to choose from :) Prawns, king crabs, clawfish and oysters were really fresh and the sauce was amazing. The staff were friendly, good service and the restaurant was big enough to fit a group of people. Definitely coming back next time!

Definitely not something you can find just anywhere in boston. They just opened a couple days ago, so they are training and working on training and procedures. Despite just starting, they are doing an awesome job on customer service and the food is tasty. Plus they do takeout. Will definitely be a repeat customer!

My fifth time enjoying their food. House special sauce taste pretty awesome. Personal favorite is their shrimp, holly crab sauce with regular spiciness. Oh dont forget to order fried oyster and/or cat fish side orders which comes with crispy fries. Man, definitely recommend.

Holy Moly Holly Crab! Welcome to the neighborhood! Southern Cajun seafood boils, the best gumbo I’ve had since NOLA! This newly opened spot is tons of fun and great for group dining! Matt and I rolled in after watching our son race down the street at BU. Greeted by friendly waitstaff who immediately rip off a paper tablecloth and proceed to equip you with bibs, gloves and lots of napkins. We started out with perfectly fried super fresh oysters. Shades of Mother’s in New Orleans –Yum! Chef/owner Ryan is a graduate of the CIA and told us he spent many years in Vegas at high end restaurants perfecting his craft. We settled on the Holly Mix spiced boil with fresh crawfish, perfectly cooked head on shrimp and succulent baby clams. They literally came to the table in «boil in bag» submerged in spicy, lick your fingers sauce. Holly secret sauce was fragrant with garlic, spicy with a bite. At our server’s suggestion we ordered rice balls which we threw into the bag so that they could absorb the sauce and juices. Those napkins and gloves came in handy! This place is a natural for groups but we enjoyed it as a couple too. Worth the half hour trip to get there– we’ll be returning soon!

Went here last night with a group of friends for their official grand opening — very good food all around though I’m giving them 5 stars more for their customer service. Having lived in atl for 3 years the low country boil here is pretty good, but my one criticism is that you have to order corn/potatoes/sausage on the side and it doesn’t come with the seafood which is a bit untraditional — usually it’s all cooked together. Still very good food But they have even better customer service. We had a big party and when paying the original receipt and the split checks did not match and had different gratuity amts — they spent a good 15 – 20 min figuring out what caused the confusion and even gave us the difference(we left it for them anyway) but it was nice they spent time trying to figure it out.

Really delicious Cajun seafood! The king crab is awesome, and they cut it up in front of you and drop it in a big bag of delicious sauce and seafood– what more could you ask for? The staff was friendly and the restaurant is pretty large too, so you likely won’t have to wait to get a seat. There’s free parking on a lot of the side streets and convenient metered parking too. Easy access to the T as well. If I ever go back Id probably just get the snow crab, given that the king crab is pretty expensive, but I think it’s all gonna be delicious(there was a 25% off for the first night ;). They have live seafood and frozen ones too, so for a few bucks more you can guarantee your food is fresh. It is a little pricy though relative to some of the other food in the neighborhood– but also higher quality. I can tell this place knows costumer service and that they know what they’re doing. If the area is willing to spend on seafood, then I think Holy Crab will be around for a long time to come!

Holly Crab! Great service! Keep getting us new gloves and napkins. Very reasonable price and the weight is much more compare to the Shaking Crab. The seafoods are very fresh and the claw fish are live. First day for the soft opening. 1lb king crab($ 31) and 1lb shrimp($ 13) are now $ 39 for both. Live crawfish is $ 15/lb. 10 oysters are just $ 15. All sodas are free. Plus you get extra 25% off at last. Great experience and will come back again!

The first Cajun Seafood restaurant in Boston! Across the 88 asian supermarket and Commonwealth Sports Club, there is «Holly Crab»! It used to be «Saray» Turkish restaurant but not anymore! This type of Cajun Seafood restaurant is really common in California, Las Vegas so many people might already know about this concept. Most of seafoods are coming in a plastic bags and as soon as you open it, you can smell spicy, garlicky, buttery seafood. You have to eat them by hands with gloves. I ordered combo of «Shrimp and King crab legs», 2 # of Crawfish, Fish and chips, Clam chowder. All foods were amazing but the«King Crab legs» was tremendously delicious. And the price of this combo was only $ 39 and it’s really generous. I will definitely come again and enjoy these foods. Bön Appetit!

I’m not one to write reviews, but I had a excellent food today. Amazing, the best crab dining experience I have had in the U.S. So glad Holly Crab opened up! They have everything from oysters, wings, seafood, french fries, yam fries, and clam chowder, etc Food is great quality and leaves you thinking about it the next day The seafood combo with sauce(you can choose spicy level.) had all the perfect spices. The service was excellent, great atmosphere. My new favorite place. Going back asap.
