We had just arrived in Boston and got settled in our hotel when we decided to eat at the Harborside Grill. It was January so the patio was closed but the view from inside the restaurant was still great… even at night. The staff was very friendly and helpful with both our order and also with recomendations for sightseeing tours. I had the sirloin tips and my wife had the salmon. Both entrees were very well seasoned and prepared to perfection including the vegetables. I had the green beans and bok choi and my wife had the polenta and tabbouleh. We finished with the crème brûlée with donut holes. The donut holes were almost inedible(hard as a rock) but the crème brûlée made up for it as it was terrific. All in all a very enjoyable meal at prices consistent with most restaurants associated with hotels.

I was lucky enough to have stayed in this hotel to experience the view from my room! But for those who cant stay here, coming to the hotel restaurant for a view of that skyline is a treat! I dined at the restaurant for Sunday Brunch. It was pretty pricey at 25.00 per person, but once I got deep into my(several plates) of food I can see why. Salmon Nova, quiche, fresh fruit(blackberries and more), bagels, all the beverages, meats, cheeses(charchuterie style), wow! I could go on and on. It was definitely a treat that one should experience at least once.

Service is absolute crap. Servers are absent, talking amongst themselves on the floor, or eating their dinner in front of the bar, in the main house, as customers are waiting(15-minutes in our case) to be served. Drinks are a total rip-off. The $ 13.00 Hendricks gin and tonics were ordered were little more than a shot glass full of BOTH gin and tonic, and when we returned later(gluttons for punishment), we were charged $ 26.00 for Baileys and coffee drinks — EACH. Staff really drags this place into the gutter. I’d snowshoe to a place a mile away before returning to this place.

Pro: The view is amazing. if you can sit outside with a fire pit, do so. Incredible. The staff definitely tries their hardest and is very friendly and helpful, but it seems like they get slammed a lot. They are directly next to the water taxi harbor. When do you get a chance to get on a water taxi? Con: Food is really not very good. Drinks are not very good. Food and drink can take a while to be delivered, and there are translation problems when ordering. Without the amazing view and friendly staff, this would be a 0/5, but seriously the view is just nuts, plus you can take a water taxi right out in front. My advice is to order something that can’t be messed up very easily(like a Steak), then a drink that can’t be messed up very easily(like a Beer, perhaps order more than one drink at a time), cozy up in front of a fire pit, and enjoy the hell out of the view, with a water taxi ride before and after to go between Boston.

I came here last night for dinner. I was not staying at the Hyatt but heard wonderful things about the restaurant and wanted to try it out for myself. We had reservations for 7pm and arrived early. We were romptly seated and had no issue with getting a spot on the patio. First…the view on the patio is beautiful. The Boston skyline over the water is gorgeous! That alone would have made the evening worth it. For dinner we had an appetizer order of calamari and I had the salmon burger with french fries. My friend had the steamed mussels. For dessert we shared the chocolate lava. The food was good overall. The food and drinks are a bit pricey but not unrealistic. Why 3 stars you ask? The waiter though very kind took a very long time to take our order. He also didn’t come back to see how we were doing or how we liked the food. Secondly, once the sun set the patio tables should be lit with candles or some sort of light so that guests can continue to enjoy their meals as opposed to eating in darkness. Lastly I would suggest investing in candles to keep the bugs away while on the patio.

Awful service. Arrived about 20 minutes before our reservation. Sat down at the bar and each ordered a drink. Hostess came to get us before the bartender had finished making the drinks. Sat outside on the patio, beautiful view. The waiter was pretty good for the first few minutes. Took our appetizer order and came back about ten minutes later for our entrée order. This was the last time we saw our waiter all night. Our food was brought out about 25 minutes after we ordered(not too long at all). However, It was not our waiter that brought the food. Our drinks and our water were completely empty at this point. Thankfully our food was delivered as ordered, because no one stopped by to see how it turned out. Finished our meals, still no sign of the waiter. Someone else came by and took our empty plates away. About 15 minutes after this, our server came and asked if we wanted another drink. I explained to him that I would have ordered another drink, but at this point our meals were finished. He didn’t apologize at all, just nodded his head and brought the check. The table next to us got up and left after waiting 50 mins for clam chowder. No manager in sight, and believe me… We looked. I understand service being slow, but it is ridiculous when you are paying 30 dollars for a plate of food and you don’t even have a glass of water. Service was so poor, that I wanted to warn all of the people waiting at the hostess stand. Decided to come to Unilocal instead.

Service was really poor and the overpriced seafood was salty and oily. While the waitress was friendly, we waited entirely too long for food, drinks(which were never refilled) the check, Togo boxes, etc. The manager seemed entirely unconcerned that there were concerned customers. I wish I could say the food was worth the trouble.

Great food! Great service too! My husband said it was one of the best meals he has ever had and can’t wait to come back! I had the three cheese sandwich and he had a make your own meal with grilled chicken, roasted potatoes and broccoli. Both meals were great!

I got the burger. I still don’t know if there is any burger worth $ 18, but it was very tasty.

I’ve eaten here 5 or 6 times over the past 3 years when out of town friends are staying at the hotel and not able to grab dinner downtown. In the past, I’ve enjoyed a rich lobster pasta dish and would have given this restaurant 3 – 4 stars, mostly losing a point for the poor drink selection. Last night the menu lacked that previous lobster dish so i orderred the bollegnese. If I could give it negative stars, i would. Pasta was dry, sauce lacked any flavor and was so bad i would have preferred for them to go to the grocery store and pour something straight out of the can, and lastly, the specks of meat added nothing. The grated cheese was the only good thing i could say about the entire dish, and the beer selection continues to be very subpar. So last night’s meal gets a negative one star. The attentive staff and good service don’t deserve any of the blame, this one is on the kitchen.

I came here on a chilly Friday night to celebrate my 27th birthday. After taking the bus from Beacon Hill and the arduous walk around the harbor(and by arduous I mean a dress amidst Boston’s imminent winter) we stumbled upon the restaurant. The first thing to take in is the sick view of Boston’s skyline from across the water. It was dark by then so the city was lit up against a black sky and it was beautiful. We got a table by the window(though the glare from the outside lamps makes the view subpar behind glass) and we ordered the apparently award winning clam chowder and salmon macaroni and cheese to share. I’ve only lived here in Boston for a few weeks, and had yet to try any famed New England clam chowder, so I’m really glad this was my first taste of it. It was very very good, but my waiter’s thick Boston accent made it about a million times better(«CHOW-DAH.») The clam chowder made up for the abysmal salmon macaroni(which was just not good). From all the spotty reviews I think this place might be best for tapas and drinks to take in the view rather than dinner, a good first date night for sure. Checking into Unilocal allowed me a free dessert so I also partook in a chocolate mud pie and a cup of coffee. The perfect capstone to my night. (I hate spectacles so I don’t know if they offer any kind of free birthday related dessert, but I got mine anyway so all’s well that ends well.)

How disappointing. Unless you’re staying at the Hyatt, don’t bother. I will not even order dinner, the hummus is so bad I can’t leave fast enough.

Brought our 4 year old daughter to dinner and were treated very well by Jennifer, our server. Food was out quickly, including appetizers and bread/water. View is amazing which is icing on the cake. The menu looked delicious and my Shrimp Bahn Mi was super tasty. Salads were large and good too. Kids menu options were awesome as healthy options of salads and fruit were plentiful. They accommodated our request of a kids cheeseburger even though it wasn’t on the menu. Thanks!

Best clam chowder at chowderfest 2013. Well deserving of the title. Amazing clam chowder. Also they have an amazing view of the buildings in Boston. This place was great.

The view is what makes you forgive everything else of a disaster at this restaurant. If you have at least two hours to wait for your dinner to come out this is the place for you but expect horribly rude hostesses that have apparently never heard of what smiling is. The clam chowder is great but the entrees are boring/bland and you could probably make it yourself 20x better at home at half the price!

Had a fantastic lunch on the waterfront. Carlos(the server) was very helpful in making fantastic suggestions. Lobster BLT and a cold beer really hit the spot. With a great view of the city and a great meal, we will certainly return. Thank you.

had breakfast here during a stay with my roomie. The view and restaurant atmosphere are breathe taking. I decided to treat myself to a probably overpriced $ 20 steak and eggs. Eggs were cooked perfectly, hashbrown was delicious(my fav) and wheat toast. The steak however wasnt tender enough and didn’t seem like good enough quality but good to the taste buds. I guess I paid for the view. It also took me 40 minutes to get my breakfast and the restaurant wasn’t packed.

The restaurant at Hyatt Harborside offers a sports bar, indoor dining, and a nice outdoors dining area facing Boston harbor. I was staying here for a layover and after a five hour flight with no food I was starving! At 4pm they were still serving lunch. I ordered a cup of clam chowder, lobster roll with salad, and rhubarb pie. The chowder was excellent — creamy yet not too rich. The clams were a good size and still had texture, as did the cubes of potatoes. The little oyster crackers went well with the chowder. The lobster roll was the first I’ve ever had — a treat since I don’t visit the NE states much. Large chunks of lobster meat(mostly claw) seasoned with mayo and a creamy slaw with chives bursting from a toasted brioche bun. The bun had a nice toasted and firm outside while the inside was soft and sweet. The lobster was delicious. The side salad I asked to supplement the roll was also good: mixed greens with tomato, garbanzo, large cucumbers, and a smoky vinaigrette. The croutons were unique — large chunks of fried bread that is closer to a Chinese donut(«Yow Jaw Gooey»). Dessert was seasonal rhubard pie with vanilla ice cream. I was expecting a pie slice but our came a cute little mini whole pie. Crust and filling were good but would have been better if served warm. Although this is the only restaurant on site, I give high marks for the excellent lobster roll and chowder.
