My boyfriend and I spent a night in the city last June after a long 2 weeks of military training, and came across Emmets from a search of the area. We walked in and immediately fell in love with the venue :) Not a bad seat in the house, especially if you’re looking to watch a sports game. We just so happen to like going to Irish bars/restaurants, maybe we’re a little bit biased. The hostess and wait staff were very courteous and knowledgeable of the menu and helped with recommendations. We easily split the nacho appetizer and each had a bowl of chowder, both were very delicious. And for the entrée there was a Lobster Dinner for 2 at $ 40, and it was WELLWORTHIT, by far the best lobster I have ever had. We will definitely be heading back to Emmet’s, already made reservations on !

I come here anytime I see a show at the Wilbur– it’s far away from the crowds, but close enough that you can walk. I’ve never had any of the dinners, but the apps I have tried are all really good. I am a sucker for their buffalo chicken nachos– I order them every time I come! The staff is very hit or miss– my only complaint. The last time I was here, our waitress must have left; she never came back with our drinks, we had to order them from the bar, someone else ran our food out, and no one knew where our check was. A little disorganized, but maybe just having an off day!

We dropped in for a beer during our sight-seeing day of Boston, this place was just okay. The service was very lack-lustre, the bartender was in Irish girl who really seemed like she didn’t want to be there. The bar itself is just beautiful and worth dropping in for that point alone. With better service this would have been a great experience.

A real Irish bar that serves delicious food. We loved this place so much we came back the next night. On our first visit we ordered some Guinness and the bangers and mash. The bangers were amazing the sauce they cook the sausage in is delicious and are a perfectly complimented by the Guinness. The service was spot on. The bartender Willy is an old school classic bartender. His white shirt vest and tie are what i would expect to see in an OG irish bar. The next day we went back and ate our way through the menu. We ordered the Guinness onion soup, fish and chips, and two orders the Guiness beef pie. All three things were delicious again the sauce infused with the Guiness was amazing.

Nice place to stop and have a pint(or 2.) on a chilly Saturday afternoon. Live Irish music played by local musicians added to the warm and homey atmosphere. The apps we ordered were far from great. The fried calamari(I know this is an odd choice in an «Irish» pub, but its what we craved) was rubbery and over cooked and the spinach and artichoke dip was underwhelming. The burgers were good — but the rare and the medium were cooked the exact same and were nothing special. With the overwhelming number of «Irish pubs» in the area, Emmet’s doesn’t really stand above the crowd in any way. The service is friendly, but inconsistent, the food is passable but not worth seeking out with much better options in the area, and after 10PM it becomes another annoying college hangout to be avoided. All that being said — its an enjoyable enough place to grab a pint(they pour it well!)

They are trying, but not succeeding at being an Irish Pub. We’ve gone in a few times over the years– nothing spectacular, but reasonably priced. The food is just okay, and the bar service is anonymous, and the bar is too small to be that way. They use substandard beef for their burgers. The chowder is okay. It is really American pub food without the originality or proper ingredients to claim authenticity. The waitresses we’ve had have been very nice, and the atmosphere in general during the day is clean and well appointed. Don’t go on the weekends or nights! They do a DJ night with a guy who doesn’t know anything but tacky disco and machine music. They had a eighties night and missed Elton John, David Bowie, The Police, U2,(I think he played one song by The Cars) and half a dozen other bands– but he played a lot of bad pop songs, including the worst of Michael Jackson. This is an okay place to get a lunch in the weekday, but you want to avoid it on the weekends because the owner is more interested in getting his over priced cover than having enough bar help to service the clients, and the DJ is a pre-programmed moron who doesn’t know what a request is. My advice: It may be making you a lot of money, but the evening«entertainment» needs a serious upgrade, so if you don’t know how to do it right, get out of that business.

Loved this Irish pub! Has a wonderful, friendly feel with rich wood interior. I’m visiting from out of town for a couple of months for work so I went in by myself and sat at the bar. Jason the bartender and Oran the manager made me feel right at home, and them being Irish was the icing in the cake! What lass wouldn’t love that accent! I had the fish and chips and it was crispy and delicious. The cole slaw was nice and crispy although a bit bland for me, but being from California our style may be different. Excellent service, nice conversation– I felt at home quickly and will definitely make this my neighborhood pub while I’m in town! And the prices are very reasonable!

Writing this review based on 2 visits Visit #1 Dinners ordered: 2x steak and Guinness Pie, 1x burger and the power food salad with a few beers Service and food good. Burger very average. Salad was really only greens with maybe a couple small tomatoes. Could do with some croutons or shaved carrot to spice it up! Visit #2 Nachos and artichoke dip to start(chicken on nachos was tough fried goujons cut up. Shredded buffalo chicken would have been better) Dinner was 2x lobster roll(good value at $ 15 each), and 2x Fusilli pasta The bill came and we ran our credit card through only to notice that ANOTHER tables dinners were on OURBILL! It got fixed but had we not noticed we would have been in trouble Atmosphere We live in Ireland and this wasn’t too far off an Irish pub Music a bit too loud for dinner convo

We went to this place accidentally and it didn’t disappoint. They had live Irish music playing that added to the pub atmosphere. Good was deliciously. If you love potatoes you’ll love this place. Loaded potatoes for apps, so good.

Rubbish. I went here one night out of a desire to grab some quick dinner. The location is great, but the inside isn’t. When I walked in I was greeted with the din of a live«Irish band» in a space the size of my apartment. The music was absolutely deafening. The food was absolute crap. Bland, nearly cold, and not worth the cash. The fish was greasy to the point of giving me a stomach ache. I won’t be back.

This appeared to be a nice spot for lunch so I stopped in with my daughter . Guinness was tasty. I ordered the Irish Turkey sandwich. It was ok, but did not have the Irish bacon as listed. No biggie . My main problem was my daughters meal. She ordered buffalo chicken wings. Much to our surprise there was an actual feather sticking out of not one, but two of the wings. Beyond disgusting. Server was friendly enough and changed the order for a Caesar salad. Our appetite was obviously gone and that was that. Can’t say I have ever had an actual feather sticking out of something I ordered. Amazing. Will not be back.

Came across this place by surprise. The food was fantastic. I had the steak tip salad, so good. There was live music playing… felt like I was in Ireland. I want to go back for brunch. Family friendly and ery reasonably priced.

We were visiting Boston and decided to stop in for a pint. It was Friday evening about 530, and there was already a pretty good crowd at the bar. The bartenders were very friendly and attentive. I did not eat any food, but my friend ordered the chicken liver pâté appetizer and she said it was excellent. There twere TVs on showing the soccer game, which seem to bring in a crowd. This pub is definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area.

It seem like it should be a great place, but the food is bland and not very inviting. I had the Shepherd’s Pie, while hot, it just did not have much flavor. My wife did the Fish and Chips and they were not crisp and greasy.

Fantastic service. Great food. I had the fish and chips. The fish was moist and flaky. We also tried the shepherd pie potato skins — very good. Beef stew, chicken pot pie and burgers were also very good.

Great atmosphere, really chill and authentically Irish– one time that we were there, there was Irish music played live. It’s a nice chill bar, with lots of seating and good for a group of friends. Unfortunately, the food there was pretty terrible and at best, slightly worse than average. I was hoping for better considering the vibe of the bar and authentic nature of the restaurant.

Very typical, hearty Irish Pub food. Large portions, served relatively quickly. We really enjoyed the spinach dip. The one thing i thought was odd about it was that the homemade pita chips they serve with it were fried(not baked) and very greasy… sometimes chewy almost. Baking them wouldnt leave that«fryer’ taste in your mouth. Luckily, the spinach dip was so good it covered it up! Out of our party of four, two get large sandwiches, I got a turkey burger, and another ordered a salad. They seemed to do everything well. I would recommend upgrading to the sweet potato fries, which were very tasty. Seems like a nice spot to grab a guiness, hot sandwich, and watch a game. On a Thursday night after a Bruins game(around 9), it was surprisingly quiet and we had no trouble getting a table.
