I love this place! The staff is super friendly and attentive. A nice relaxed atmosphere where you can enjoy friends and family. I definitely recommend this place!

Location: A nice charming and decorated restaurant on East Boston Service: waitresses were super nice and friendly Food : What a great experience of authentic Colombian food. I tried the famous«bandeja paisa» and was excellent Also the Tostones with Chicken that also was great As a appetizer we have empanadas, it couldn’t be better. Price: Affordable. Considering the very generous portions. Note: I will highly recommended to Colombian and Americans to swing by and give the try

Nice little place across the street from Orient Heights T station, nice ambience with Columbian music playing, nice furniture and a corner fireplace. Started with the Fried Plantains & Guacamole(so good, but I need to remember that appetizers are for more than one person!) Very attentive waitress, was quick to replace an expired can of Diet Coke, and foresee my need for a glass of water. For an entrée I had Bandeja Paisa(Typical Plate) — flank steak, fried plantain, rice, fried egg, avocado, blood sausage, chorizo, beans, fried corn cake & fried pork rind! After finishing the appetizer on my own, there was no way I could finish this plate(though I did finish the sausages, steak, plantain and egg). They serve a very nice spicy salsa, and when I mentioned Unilocal, she brought out some fried cassava, with a nice, remoulade type of dip. No room for dessert, but the coffee was really nice and strong– Café Bustelo, maybe? Would come back again!

Truly a hidden gem. Words won’t be able to express how awesome this hole in the wall is. I visited for the first time today and cannot wait to go back. The food was so delicious, so authentic, so flavorful, and very reasonably priced!

Honestly it gets 5 stars becuase is one of the few places in East Boston where they have decent food, service and a PATIO where you can see people walk by. My salmon was cooked to perfection and my original mojito was delicious. the service was a tad slow but i wasnt in a rush to get anywhere, thankfully. There’s barley no parking but thankfully its right across the street from the T stop Orient Heights. I had an excellent lunch here. Would be back again after my gym sessions.

Always heard their bunch was great… was not impressed. Not really any lunch style options and only main courses for breakfast was an omelet bar or Belgium waffles… no pancakes, French toast or eggs… Just wasn’t for me…

Breakfast buffet was reasonably priced and may earn a revisit solely due to all the available fresh fruits. Baked morning items all seemed to have dulce de leche etc as a schmere or filling. They had an «omelette station» but was more like a scrambled egg station, ingredients added to frying pan over heat(your choice) then eggs dropped over the top and browned.(Not offered anything but well done, which displeases me) Traditional breakfast meats sausage, bacon(deep fried) Rice and beans, rice and eggs, juices from machine. Breakfast potatoes etc. For the price it was very average but also very clean and staff were very polite. This may not be a culinary gem, however I might return if my other local faves had a wait I couldn’t tolerate.

Amazing place to have a great lunch. I go here almost every time I need to buy food. It is mostly Colombian food, but it tastes great. I really love this place and I definitely recommend you or a friend come here. :)

They recently remodeled the place, that said, their new set up is awkward. There’s no host stand and their bar is a service bar. I have a minimal problem speaking Spanish but it seemed only one staff member could speak/understand Spanish. Def a communication barrier. I live fairly close but will def travel an extra few miles to get better service/food. There was also an unclear price change from the online price to what the total rang up to in store. Food was standard.

Really nice little place. Went there early on a sat night with the lady and my two boys(7 and 6), although I don’t know that it would be great for kids any later, it seemed ok at this time. There was another family as well with kids around the same age. Started with the Shrimp Provecial, it was great! I had the Colombian typical platter, although it was good, it was a bit underwhelming from a flavor perspective, but still a good meal. Lot of food! Wifey had the Pan seared Trout, it was excellent. The kids had pretty standard kids fare, chicken fingers and fries and Sachipappas. They both enjoyed it! We all had a great meal, I would def come back but I may try something a bit more adventurous myself.

Seafood Paella was fantastic; I’d get it again in a heartbeat. We had a veggie quesadilla to start and I have to say… It was the best quesadilla I’ve ever had. There was broccoli and mushrooms and cheese and peppers and spinach and… All kinds of veggies that I’ve never seen in your standard quesadilla. The guac was tasty and the salsa fresh. The service was a bit slow but friendly and I enjoyed lingering over my wine.

Did not know they had a breakfast buffet on the weekends and let me tell you that it was extremely yummy! They have an omelet station with waffles. Some tasty Columbian food and your typical bacon and sauage. You must try their food!

Montañero was lacking avocado, sausage, and an arepa. Chicharron was a bit dry. Place is cute and has space for bigger groups. Friendly staff.

I had high expectations for this place, but it was pretty disappointing to go to a «Colombian» restaurant where most of the menu options are either Mexican and American. First of all, there was no Bandeja Paisa(the restaurant’s name would suggest there is) unless the montañero is the Bandeja paisa… in that case it needs to include some avocado and a real arepa. There was no ajiaco, aguapanela(sugar Cain drink), refajo, limonada de coco, aborrajados, etc. I expected some Christmas atmosphere with that colombian feeling we(colombians) miss while being in another country, sadly the decoration was only in a corner of the place and no villancicos were played. To be honest, the place didn’t feel colombian at all. Thank goodness there were some local places that carried real colombian treats like La Sultana Bakery where I got awesome almojabanas, buñuelos, envuelto de maiz, empanadas and arepas de huevo plus awesome Christmas spirit all over the place!

What a nice place! The service was very good — almost like I was being served by friends. And the food? Sooooo good and filling. I had the Montañera — a traditional dish of steak, rice, egg, sweet plantain, pork rinds, and corn. The steak was prepared perfectly, which is a huge pet peeve of mine. 4 of the 5 stars come from that alone. My only complaint is they offered me «Three Milks» for dessert. You’re a Colombian restaurant, It’s «Trés Leches!» Own it!!! Haha, just kidding of course. You can’t blame them for translating things for the Boston crowd. :) Oh, and by the way, it was to die for. Highly recommended!

I wanted to surprise my boy friend to a columbian place! Because he had told me he wanted to eat there. So I was looking at Unilocal to see any good or great reviews on columbian place. I went with this one because a lot of reviews and positive things and so I listen to my gut and went to this place. I don’t regret one but of it, my boyfriend loved my surprise dinner ! The food was excellent ! Took a while but it was all worth it . Reason why it’s not 5 star because i think they should have better drinks. The atmosphere is cozy and romantic but yet it can be any occasion! Would deff recommend !!

My major complaint here is I came to eat on a Sunday afternoon and there was a guy singing SOFRIGGINGLOUD!!! It literally was nightclub levels. HORRIBLE!!! It was painful to your ears, and I could not hear one thing the people at the table, literally sitting right next to me, were saying. HORRIBLE!!! The food was great, though! Kind of slow, but the food was worth a bit of a wait. I had paella that was outstanding.
