National coffee day!(9⁄29) Got a free medium roast coffee. The person who rung me up seemed disenchanted, but free swag. I’m not sure if there’s a hype over DD coffee, but I wouldn’t be surprised if there wasn’t.

I love Dunkin’ Donuts, really, I do. However, I’ve been to this location about a dozen times since moving to the area, and have been disappointed by the service, friendliness, order accuracy, and atmosphere on about half of the visits. Enforcing the«no loitering» policy around the Dunkin’ might be a good start to improvement in the managers cared — homeless people asking for your change seems to be a staple around the establishment. The cashiers are regularly morose(come on! You guys get free coffee! Why so sad!?) and tend to forget about the details of my order, and the English comprehension leaves a little to be desired. They do have good coffee though :)

Like most things in this bit of the South End, this Dunkin Donuts is gentrifying. I haven’t experienced the rough tides of others, despite heading there a few times. There are a few rougher folks outside, but not junkies – just people trying to get by. If you’re only comfortable in Beacon Hill and Wellesley, Unilocal cannot help you here. Anyway, they chronically fail to put whipped cream on my girlfriend’s coffee coolata, but they’re super-happy to fix it. They’re pretty quick these days, and have a few good efficient tricks(like when there’s a long line on a weekday morning, they poll the middle of the line to get their sandwiches going). Other DD’s definitely have less of a wait that time of day, but I think it’s probably due to location more than service staff. And yes, they do have a parking lot. You want coffee? Great, go.

Used to live near this dunkin donuts. We all called it the needle park becuz there were so many heroin addicts there. Adding to the scariness of the place is the extremely slow service and the knee jerk way they add a dozen sugars to every coffee(I take mine black no sugar). When you consider everything wrong with this store, this may possibly be the absolutely worst coffee place on the planet. Want d d coffee? Go to the one at Columbus and mass ave or at BMC. Both are cleaner, safer, faster and more accurate. Go anyplace but here.

My 2 star rating for this DD doesn’t even take into account the bizarre customer base! I don’t know what is wrong with the people who work at this place. I’ve entered this DD and stood there for a good 10+ minutes before someone comes out of the back room. What are they doing??? I’ve also been served by someone who was taking out the garbage and then, all of a sudden, was preparing my coffee without washing their hands. Yes, they have a parking lot. Yes, it’s convenient to my house. Yes, the customers there provide some entertainment value. And yes, for some reason, I will continue to come here even if I do have to wait 15 minutes for a dirty cup of coffee.

Had to get out of the house for an hour or so in the morning, needed coffee, so I took a walk to this DD where I’d previously only had take-out. Got the paper and went inside for some joe and a greezy sandwich. Two different grody people begged for money from me. One was a weird old lady who looked drunk at 10 am, who went so far as to demand I take out my earbuds so I could hear her beg more clearly. Lame. Coffee and gross sandwich are the usual.

Even though this Dunkins has the convenience of a private parking lot(rare in the South End) as well as a recent interior renovation, overall it still sucks a donkey’s munchkins. There are certain members of their staff that just ruin the store completely — they just don’t care… I’ve been in here once when an employee made someone’s breakfast sandwich incorrectly and when the customer pointed it out, he literally YELLED at her. WHOA. I’ve waited much longer than necessary on multiple occasions even with several staff members working — the slowness has ranged from people chit chatting or simply just poking around the supplies. Why is there a need to organize the donuts nobody plans on buying instead of helping those in line? On another occasion, a staff member buzzed someone into their locked bathroom while another customer was already in there — AWK. I hope they weren’t taking a «chocolate stick.» ;( Just a note — there’s a really good chance that there will be a homeless person opening the door for you and asking for $ — sorry guys, I only carry plastic…

Something about this Dunkin’ Donuts gives me the heeby jeebies. This particular location tends to attract some very strange clientele. There’s always a few homeless people lurking about outside asking for money. The last time I was in there a woman made at least a dozen demands as to her order, all while screaming at the guy who was working there. The people that work here aren’t exactly proficient at speaking English, forcing me to have to repeat my coffee order at a minimum of three times. And the lines are always very slow moving. Their donut selection also seems to get wiped out rather early in the morning. If you’ve set your heart on DD, I’d pick a different location — its not like there’s a shortage in this city.

This Dunkin Donuts is high up on the Dunkin Donuts hierarchy. I’ve never gotten a burned bagel(although now I’ve jinxed myself), and the donut dudes™ are very friendly. And by friendly I mean not surly. Plus it is sunny and nice in there, with a bunch of tables along the two sides of the store that are covered in windows.
