Fabulous! Great atmosphere. Soulful selection of music. Perfect cup of coffee. Wonderful treats and meal selections. I enjoy this space for meeting, working, and fun.

I wish I still lived in Boston because this place is great! The food was delicious(I got the Ms. Davis bowl) and the space is awesome, with big windows and cool artwork. Will make this a regular stop on future Boston visits :) Edit: just got a bomb cappuccino! Ruined the artwork because I started drinking before I took the pic

Dudley café is truly a gem of a place. It’s airy setting, vibrant with beautiful plants and dynamic artwork, was the perfect place to unwind to a cup of Moroccan mint tea after a long week. I ordered the Malala rice bowl– an absolute delight! It’s owner, staff, and their top quality service brought me warmth, nourishment, and joy. My highest recommendations!

Since the onset of gentrification, I mean revitalization of Dudley«square». Dudley Café has hit the scene. Though this place gives off a positive vibe, it is nothing more than a Starbucks imitator at best. The staff and the service were slow and unresponsive. My only concern is whether this café is for local residents or a new more posh crowd.

No lie, I ate here every single morning for four days straight during my trip to Boston. I loved everything about this place! A pot of tea with my french toast, lovely. The cinnamon rolls, epic. The breakfast sandwich was delish. The art work BEAUTIFUL! I just wanted to pack this place up and transport it to Atlanta, but those Spirit Airlines baggage fees tho…

I so want this place to be better, been here about 15 times, just because I live close and want to try to support local. Hoped and disappointed again. Sandwiches are a solid mediocre, tried, the pulled pork another time hoping it will be better. Small and Dry would be how to describe. Typical for most of the sandwiches. Pastries are just ok. Coffee and teas are excellent and space with big windows I love.

Hands down the coolest coffee shop in all of Boston. This is going to be the place the ‘cool kids’ hang out — so come on down Dudley & be among the ones who can say, «I knew it before everyone else.» Cinnamon rolls are fantastic.

This was my first time here. I gave it three stars because first of all the store was nice and clean. The homemade pastry look delicious. But TOO expensive for a breakfast sandwich and everything else. I’ll stick to my Mario’s across the street and Dunkin donuts for my breakfast. We don’t need no more coffee shops in dudley station.

So this place is, without a doubt, cute as can be with it’s lounge area and sprawling windows-a fine place to grab a cup of Joe however I ordered the curry chicken rice bowl and was sorely disappointed. There was not a spice or single seasoning to be found in the meal. It was just very, very bland which I understand to be a common complaint for this place. I also agree with the writer who noted the racial divide. This is not a location concerned with connecting with folks indigenous to the neighborhood which is rather unfortunate. If you’re looking for me, I won’t be at Dudley Café. Find me over at Haley House.

I made the trek to Dudley this morning with high hopes of what this café had to offer, and I was amazed that they exceeded my expectations! Super friendly staff who were very helpful and asked how I liked my breakfast. The fruit/granola/yogurt was delicious and fresh. Awesome selection of pastries, meals, etc. The café itself was clean and had a great atmosphere and played fun music. Very enjoyable experience. I’ll be back soon :)

This place is great. The food is very good – approachable but with interesting ingredients and flavors. The atmosphere has a modern and welcoming vibe(awesome music) and so far the service has been warm and friendly. I live in the neighborhood so I know I will eat here often. My only critique is that the portions are just a little small(specifically the rice bowl) and I wish the sandwiches and breakfast items came with a side of some kind. By no means a deal-breaker but I would gladly pay a little more to get something extra on my plate.

Great location and friendly staff. Love the prosciutto scone and sweet potato — avocado sandwich. Wanting to give the chefs time to settle in to master the menu. Consistency of flavor and presentation should come soon.

Stopped by early this morning for some breakfast. The place was not crowded, but I’m guessing that will change quickly as word gets out. Ever since my husband and I moved into Fort Hill I’ve loved the neighborhood but wished there were more walkable places to get a bite to eat in a comfortable setting. Dudley café is a little far but worth the walk. Their breakfast sandwich with ham and cheddar came with a yummy sauce, sautéed spinach and a perfectly cooked egg. Big enough to fill you up, but not too big– and it was delicious. The latte loses points for weak foam but the flavor was excellent– didn’t need sugar, which is the measure of a good latte in my opinion. Dudley café is a tiny bit pricey, but no more so than any of the Jp coffee shops I’ve frequented in my years living on the orange line. I also appreciated the friendliness of the staff and the lovely, sunny seating area. Will definitely be back here!

I so want this place to succeed, so maybe gave a couple extra stars. There is a huge captive audience that has been waiting for a place like this. The staff is friendly, The Coffee, pastries and Iced tea are all good, but the sandwiches need some serious work and rethinking. They sound pretty good on the menu, but not that exciting. Someone might need to field trip down to Flour bakery/café, see how it’s done.

It’s great to have a new restaurant in Dudley Square. The Dudley Café has a great atmosphere and some really tasty options, but also needs to work through some kinks in their menu. I can only comment on baked goods(very good) and vegetarian items(so so). The sweet potato sandwich is really excellent. But I’m really disappointed and confused by the changes in some of their posted menu items — specifically the Malala rice bowl, which was supposed to be brown rice, egg, kale, mushrooms, soy sauce and sriracha but was changed to white rice with tofu and vegetables and is extremely bland. I was also looking forward to a promised salad with mango, papaya and peanuts that never materialized. I hope they’ll come up with some more creative vegetarian options.

Oi vey. I really wanted to love it here. I’ve been resisting, for almost ten days, and waited until the hype died down to check it out. Regardless of the vegetarian options, this place is not a vegetarian’s dream come true. I ordered a breakfast sandwich(which indicated adding mean on was extra) and I picked up the«cucumber roll» sushi from the little self serve fridge thing — um, my sandwich had meat in it and I ended up giving it to my coworker, and my sushi was DRY. Rice was coarse and dry and I threw it out. That was 12 dollars I’ll never see again. Thanks, but no thanks, I’ll stick to Mario’s for lunch, ya?

Okay. This is a first impression and I’m frequently in the neighborhood, so I’ll be back. Food: Lunch sandwiches are very good. Not mouthwatering, but solid, fresh and local. Café itself: With the exception of the 1980s-graffiti-inspired mural featuring the old El train, it just doesn’t feel like Roxbury. It feels new, not necessarily in a way that is integrating with the long-established community. I hope to be very wrong and this place pans out as a gathering space for both new-comers and life-long residents of the area. Haley House Café around the corner does a VERY good job at this. But after my first visit, there seemed to be a racial divide between the people inside the café and those outside in the neighborhood. Like I said, I will be back. Great location right on top of Dudley Station and great service too.

I’m pretty high on this place early on. As a Fort Hill resident I’m happy to have another option I can walk to. I’ve stopped by three times for coffee but haven’t tried any food. The staff is great. The vibe is more Brooklyn than Boston but it’s a really comfortable room and they had good music playing. I wish this place was open when I was in school as its where I would have gone to get work done. I judge an iced coffee by whether I can drink it black or if I need to add milk. I can drink this coffee black. I’m very excited to have them here.
