Had an upper blepharoplasty and my eyelids look fantastic. Has been 10 weeks now and even I have to really look to see any marks. No need to wear any camouflage makeup etc. Thought for sure that would be necessary. I am 55 years old and before the surgery my upper eyelids were threatening to curl over my lashes and had nice little flap above outer corner of each eye too.(Fair girls, avoid that sun!!) I looked either exhausted or sad all the time. Dr. Darrow went over everything in detail with me. He took his time evaluating me and listened to what I was trying to achieve. He then reviewed what reasonable expectations would be. Dr. Darrow is truly an artist. Fascinating and elating a couple days after the surgery to see how intricately he had removed the necessary tissue and put it together superbly. Can not say enough about his skill and comforting manner. You are offered anesthesia or mild sedation but I opted for local injection only and was very at ease. I am in the medical field so that may have helped going with only local. Helen, the office manager, was extremely helpful from start to finish — very responsive. She even sat with me post-procedure helping to pass the time applying routine ice water compresses and reviewing instructions. I was terrible at following post surgery instructions by packing and traveling within 36 hours and still with these INCREDIBLE results. I strongly advise against this. Tried not to scare too many people at the airport.(Warning-if you don’t follow instructions you have longer lasting bruising of course –2 weeks in my case and ENTIRELY my fault– if you follow instructions, bruising is said to be minimal). So happy my eyes are my strong feature again. Just looked and as of today you can see my before and after picture on his site — I am the 3rd woman down on the page. Those photos are after only a month — no makeup. Look even better now. As you can see, I now need a good eyebrow shaper!
