Table service was good, the host was terrible. The atmosphere is beautiful, high ceilings, soft ambiance, and overall a really nice place to hang out. The price point is too high for what you get… but it’s quite delicious. The Artichoke Moussaka is really good but way too tiny for $ 16. The Souvlaki(lamb) was too well done for me. It’s my go to at every Greek restaurant so I was surprised. Two skewers for $ 16, eh. I thought the Greek flight was pretty sweet, definitely a good pour. I would come back for drinks/cold meze options.

I can’t stop raving about this place… I WASFLOORED with how PERFECT the sauces and the attention they put into their food! The beet starter was incredible. We never expected beet to be so flavorful because usually it tastes like dirt: P The lamb was wow. We devoured the lamb in seconds… So delicious. And very filling. The artichoke entrée was probably my favorite because the cheese complimented it very well and it wasn’t too strong– but just right. Definitely recommend. The dessert was like a flakey croissant feeling, but very light and fruity and we loved all of it! The waiter recommended it and we agreed! Overall, atmosphere is amazing, waiters are amazing, service is superb, and food is wonderful. Come here!!!

Came for lunch on the advice of my daughter, a Bostonian and foodie. It is a dining experience. Mediterranean food at its best. Avocado hummus, stuffed grape leaves and spiced feta and peppers started us off. Then salad of arugula, candied walnuts, beets and octopus(OHTHEOCTOPUS!!!). Finally shrimp gyros and zucchini chips. It was a party in my mouth! Best was the relaxed atmosphere. Delightful décor«industrial chic», very cool men’s room. Thumbs up!

Eight years ago when I was in school in Boston, there was not much around the waterfront. that has certainly changed! My friend and I were visiting our other friend who still lives in Boston, and she suggested we check out the waterfront for dinner. We were trying to get in a mix of new and old places on this trip. We had a big brunch, and an afternoon snack, so we were a little late to getting out for dinner Saturday night. We showed up around 9 and everywhere had lines! This area was THE place to be Saturday night apparently . My first tip to anyone wanting to go here(the general area) for dinner is to definitely make a reservation. We started walking around and found over an hour waits, and some places you couldn’t even get past the front door to see what the wait would be. My friend also called a couple places to see what wait times were like. She called up Committee, and they had a long wait, but she said we should stop by in person and check it out. So we walked over, and decided to wait it out for outdoor seating. They said it could be anywhere from 15 — 45 mins, but fortunately it wound up being a wait on the shorter side.
When we were seated outside our waiter came by, and took some drink orders. I asked for a recommendation based on the fact that I wanted a red that was similar to malbec. The waiter gave me a suggestion, and the wine was good, but I didn’t really think it was close to malbec. Oh well. The menu here is tapas style, and most dishes are meant to be shared. We ordered a bunch of dishes: Carrot Tzatziki, Okra Horiatiki, Feta Saganaki, Zucchini Crisps, Artichoke Moussaka, and Souvlaki. It was plenty of food, and it was all great! The lamb was cooked well and not dry. The tzatziki, okra horiatiki and moussaka were great too, and nice twists on the classics. All of it was great, and none of the portions were that big, but it was plenty of food for 3 of us. We skipped dessert, we were too full!
Overall I thought it was good. I thought service was fine, but both my friends brought to my attention that the waiter didn’t really ever stop by to check to see how everything was. I guess that could have been a little better, but didn’t ruin my dining experience. I didn’t find this place to be too expensive. I feel like I’m biased, as a New Yorker though, and I didn’t find any meal I had in Boston to be expensive. I’d come back if I were in Boston again, although I’d probably make a reservation, or not go on a Saturday night when the whole area is crazy packed.

Great spot to lounge, eat and meet friends for drinks. I always attend at night so not sure what lunch time is like(or if they’re even open at that time for that matter) but at night, it’s a chill atmosphere, great music, gets a bit crowded depending on the day of the week(weekends gets packed), diverse crowd and good food if you’re thinking about dining. The parking isn’t great but I believe they valet so that may be a more convenient option.

Came here with a couple girl friends for one of their bday dinners. It wasn’t overly crowded when we got there around 5PM, which we expected bc of the post workday rush. That was a nice surprise. However, it definitely started to fill up while we were eating and such. Even so, it’s not one of those places that you’re sitting elbow to elbow with strangers. Service was pretty good. Although, they kept asking about my friend’s birthday, but then didn’t do anything as they eluded they would. This doesn’t really take any brownie points away from them though; just an observation. I very much appreciated that our waiter was very knowledgeable regarding the menu. He made great drink recommendations based on each of our requests. I got the Happy End, which was nice and sweet. For a girl who doesn’t particularly like the taste of alcohol, this was a perfect cocktail. This restaurant was pretty much a tapas place, so they had recommended 2 – 3 dishes per person to start. Between the 3 of us, we ordered : Avocado Hummus: light and refreshing! Grape Leaves Dolmades: Came with 4, not as tangy as I’ve had, but that was a nice surprise. Kalamboki: If you love corn, get this. It’s like a better version of street corn. Artichoke Moussaka: This was the table favorite! My only complaint is that it’s so small. Nice and creamy, went perfectly with left over pita we had from another dish. Grilled Octopus: Parts of this dish were good, but some of the octopus was burnt and unevenly cooked. Although, I suppose one should expect that just due to the nature of an octopus’ shape. Keftedakia: Delicious meatballs. Highly recommend! Souvlaki: I personally am not a fan of lamb, so my opinion on this doesn’t matter much. I tried it bc my friends really like lamb, and they seemed to really like it! Not too gamey, and the tzatziki went well. Overall, it was a delicious meal!

Outstanding cuisine and atmosphere are the first things I think when I think of Committee! I go there often to get my favorite drinks, Greek style mojito and Mastiha basil lemon by the best bartender in Boston, Stephanos. He is an amazing mixologist. If you sit at the bar and watch the bartenders make drinks it’s an experience unto itself. So meticulous and a true attention to detail. If you are looking for something different, I was lucky to attend their special dinners hosted on the 1st Wednesday of every month. A chef and a sommelier present a 5 course dinner perfectly paired with a greek wine at their small private room featuring a different region of Greece every month. A truly amazing and educational experience for sure!

My husband, 1.5 year old son and I went to Committee this past Sunday for an early evening(5pm) Mother’s Day dinner. We had reservations and the staff seated us promptly. However, the restaurant has no high-chairs(yup, you read that right) — so our son had to be kept in his stroller for the entirety of the dinner. Come on, Committee. If you don’t want kids at the restaurant, then you should have turned down our reservation. You are in the same building as Vertex Pharmaceuticals and Bright Horizon’s Day Care Center– are you telling me there isn’t a parent who works at Vertex who wouldn’t mind bring their child in for a quick bite? I would like to put you on par with Toro and Trade. but at least they have high-chairs! So, despite the food being pretty good. On principle alone, I will never return.

After touring the Institute of Contemporary Art just a stepping stone away, I had some time to spare before dinner reservations so my friend and I stopped into Committee to relax and shelter from the intermittent weather of snow and rain. We arrived at the tail end of brunch, so the restaurant was quiet with a few patrons at the bar. However, we really just came through to have a sip and some small bites. The first thing you notice is the absolutely stunning interior décor. Wooden crates line the bar, exposed beams and pipes along the ceiling and exposed brick walls fill the interiors. There were a few hints of earth with its succulents and air plant centerpieces, but overall, it was a pretty hip and cool spot to be. For drinks, Lucy got the Prince of Beirut while I settled on my usual fare, Bulleit Old Fashioned. The old fashioned was simple and quite good. The orange peel had a nice decorative flair to it. Lucy’s drink was a bit more complex — Beirut pilsner, tsipouro, Greek honey and lemon. The item that caught our eye on the menu was the Greek Cheese Plate — Kasseri, Manouri, Feta. It was enough to share without being heavy and came with dried fruits and nuts, marmalade, honey and a ginger-cranberry toast. The toasted bread was plenty and great enough on its own. Although our time here was short, it was worth the time to take a bit of a breather before facing the cold winds again.

This place reminds me of Greece! There is no restaurant in NYC or Boston that I have been to that makes me travel back to there. If you want a fantastically authentic experience of the Greek cuisine, this is by far the best place to get it. Absolute must here: Grilled Octopus!!! The all time classic! At Committee, it comes with white beans, Kalamata olives, sun-dried tomatoes. Greeks love to eat boiled greens: Okra Horiatiki is a great tasting experience which includes Feta, tomato, cucumber, red onions, Kalamata olives, Greek olive oil, okra crisps. superbly healthy and delicious. The Souvlaki option comes with lamb! It doesn’t get better Drinks: Ouzo(will get to your head) and rakomelo will make sure you have a good night. If you’re looking for a great drink, ask a bartender! They were more than happy to ask me what I was in the mood for, and went from there!

I had my birthday dinner last night at committee, and let me just say this place is fabulous! From the service to the food, we had an amazing experience and I could not have asked for a better evening. Tasha the event coordinator was so sweet to put together a table for me and patiently answered all of my questions. The wait staff took care of all 15 of us and the food was downright delicious. Everything was so fresh and the portions were a really nice size for the price you pay. Pretty great deal if you ask me. All in all we had a great time and I highly suggest trying committee out. It’s a great after work bar too. Perfect for a quick drink and bite to eat :)

The décor is great here. But sadly, that’s probably the best part. Dishes are unimaginative — and some, including the hummus, are on the bland side. Some of the dishes come out of the kitchen extremely quickly — leading one to believe that they are premade or reheated. The Greek meze concept is great, but not executed well. The verdict? Come here for a cocktail, but go elsewhere for food. Doesn’t live up to the hype.

Came for their inaugural brunch today, and was NOT disappointed. Highlights include: The Champagne Tray with the executive upgrade. Fresh fruit juices, fresh fruit, nips of booze and a bucket of champagne. Make your own mimosa station at your table. You can’t go wrong. Shaksuka: for two or more and amazing. Served with pita and delicious. Greek yogurt pancakes. Cooked to perfection. Honey, fresh fruit, Greek yogurt. Unreal. Music was also great. 90’s R&B and sing along jams. Will DEFINITELY be back.

I’ve been meaning to try this place for awhile and I finally got the chance to go this weekend. It was worth the wait! Cool atmosphere and décor, even down to the bathroom. Beet Tzatziki was really tasty(great bread for dipping!) Grape Leaves were light and flavorful Artichoke Moussaka was a little rich but really good Grilled Octopus was amazing Our server told us they’re starting to serve brunch in April so I’ll definitely be back!

Review is solely on the Atmosphere/Service/Drinks alone. The food looked stellar but I didn’t eat there. I ended up at Committee a few nights ago after we were supposed to be meeting a big group after work for drinks at Gather, and there was a big private party there. I’m really glad that we ended up at Committee. The space itself is roomy and open and it’s good for groups. We had about 15 people and there was plenty of room for us to stand at the bar. Bar service was friendly and attentive. I ordered a bottle of Maine Beer Company’s Mo and a blood orange old fashioned, both were fantastic. The food coming out of the kitchen looked great. They have long tables and are very well suited for large parties. I left around 9:30 and it was very busy but not overwhelmingly packed so you couldn’t move. I look forward to going back and having dinner.

I have been dying to try Committee for ages. Finally, on a chilly January Saturday, my friend and I ventured to the Seaport for dinner. As soon as we walked in, we adored the open seating plan, the high ceiling, the chesterfield couches in the lounge area, and the interesting lights. As we were waiting for our table, we were approached by a charming gentleman who bought us a round of drinks(I will forever associate this fortuitous event with Committee) — and the drinks were resplendently delightful. I got the«Red Eye Robbie» and it was almost too gorgeous to drink. We proceeded to order the spanakopita, the zucchini crisps, the souvlaki, the calamari, and the beet tzatziki. This turned out to be a lot of food. The proportions are amazing. I would order this many plates at Barcelona and only be partially satiated, here, my eyes were woefully surveying how much food was left over, while my stomach gurgled happily. Each plate was mouthwateringly good — the spanakopita was flaky and filled with spinach and feta, the zucchini crisps were addictive, the souvlaki was juicy and filling, the calamari was spiced just the right way, and the beet tzatziki was something new and enticing. The staff was great, the atmosphere was beautiful, and the vibe was wonderful. I’d visit again in a heartbeat… Especially if the regular clientele is willing to lubricate me with those tastebud-invigorating cocktails.

We heard pretty good things about this place and decided to venture over last night. Have to say, the décor and ambiance made a great first impression. Looks like a place where lots of people come to people watch. Now for the slight drawbacks — 1) They don’t take reservations for smaller parties(at least for the weekend) and we were quoted 45 minutes to an hour wait. The actual seating time was over an hour. It wouldn’t have been that bad except for point #2. 2) Bar service was so veryyy slow. At one point, we waited a good half hour for someone to acknowledge us and this was with us flapping our arms all over the place desperately to grab their attention. Here’s the 411 on the food we tried: 1. Salt-Roasted Beets — Tasted very fresh and tastes a lot better than it looks. I think the presentation of this dish needs to be worked on a little more. It almost looks unappetizing(see pic). Then there’s also the texture. I’ve never tried beets shredded like this before. Overall, not a bad dish but could use a bit more salt. 2. Artichoke Moussaka — Highly recommended. By contrast, this was probably the tastiest dish that we’ve tried. It’s been too long since I’ve had Moussaka since it’s usually prepared with meat. This vegetarian variety fulfilled that craving. The only thing that could’ve made it better was if it had just a dash less salt. 3. Gemisti Melitzana — Lots of cheese in this baked eggplant made this a pretty hearty dish. I also think the warmed feta tasted more like regular goat cheese. Goat cheese lovers would like this choice. 4. Midia Ouzo — Mussels were flavored in a garlicky tomato sauce. Decent amount of mussels cooked perfectly but full warning, it is very garlicky! 5. Shrimp Skordo — Very flavorful dish but also slightly heavy handed on the salt. The rice that was served with it was quite tasty as well. 6. Lahmajun. Didn’t personally try but it received pretty good marks. Overall, it seems that some plates needed just a bit more salt while others had just a bit too much. All were pretty good. Committee has all the right makings to be a 4 stars but for now, it’s a 3.5 as there is room for improvement. They need more bar help and more focus on the food presentation and salt content in their food. Portions are very decent and I wouldn’t compare it to tapas sizes. You can probably get away with just ordering 2 tapas per person. I would come back to try this place again but would skip this venue if coming here just to have drinks. However, all you people watchers out there might like this. It reminds me of the bar scene at Empire but less pretentious.

I’ve been to Committee twice, once for a Unilocal event and a second to see it in action. First impressions — fan of the décor, designed to be a great happy hour spot. And it is in the sense that there there is a good selection of carefully concocted cocktails and a varied selection of red and white wines. Libations aside, I liked the set up of lounge chairs in the front followed by the bar and formal seating area in the back(and of course the penny floors in the loo). The Unilocal event was held in the lounge area and(I was told later) the decision to hold the event there turned around several friends who were unable to spot the host desk tucked on the side. Food was difficult to obtain and drinks other than wine were darn near impossible(think one bartender carefully and painstakingly precise making drinks in batches of 6 – 8). Memorable items included the souvlaki, yogurt chicken skewers, and hummus. I tried enough food to make a return a few weeks later. We came on a Saturday for an early girls night and there were only 3 – 4 other tables. Server was attentive and drinks were filled and flowing, but things were a bit slow to come out. Having tried most of the options on the cocktail menu, you can’t go wrong with any of the options(pins & needles, old fashioned, and smokeshow were stars of the night). Food is where I thought it was a miss. Portions are small even on the mezze scale and not conducive to the drink and be merry atmosphere Committee was going for. Aside from the highlights noted from the Unilocal event, I found the tzatziki and kafedatkia(meatballs) to be memorable. Misses(or dishes I didn’t quite care for) included baba ganoush, beets, grape leaf dolmades, and spiced lamb. We ended up going to another place for food a few hours later. With all the other options popping up in the Seaport area, a return to Committee wouldn’t be at the top of my list but it does offer something different.

I came by committee during its first week of opening early in the week. I really liked the décor of this place, it’s trendy while being kind of rustic. The style of food here is tapas so It’s good for groups, they also have a good amount of communal tables. The bar is gorgeous and very well designed. Add this to your list of date spots on the Waterfront. Where this place fell a little short for me was the value(3 people cost $ 270, no one left drunk or full) and the wait on the food on a pretty slow night. The vibe here was still great though, I think coming here later in the evening would be the sweet spot and sticking to cocktails and going light on food would be your best bet. I was impressed with their cocktail program, the Smokeshow was probably my favorite. Shrimp — this was good but not great. After the shrimp were de-shelled you were left with a few normal sized shrimp. A+ on presentation though. Meat Pie — this was just alright. Really expected something in Filo dough, it was more like a meat wrap. Halloumi Cheese — this was a meal highlight I would definitely recommend getting this. Pretty traditional preparation, lightly pan fried in ouzo. Chicken Souvlaki — this was also another highlight, but it was essentially chicken on a stick in a honey marinade. Special note to the fellas. After a couple drinks I decided break the seal and use the restroom. I walked in and immediately thought I was in the ladies room because there was not a single urinal. Horrified I ran out and double checked. First restroom in memory that didn’t have a urinal in the restroom. So no guys, you didn’t accidentally walk into the ladies room. I wonder if this was by design or if the contractors mistakenly built two ladies rooms.
