The Celebrity Series of Boston is the best visiting artist series in the greater Boston area. It is a not for profit that brings solo musicians, chamber music ensembles, orchestras, dance companies, writers, family programming, and so much more from all over the world. They have top notch artists, and there is something for everyone.
Celebrity Series productions are presented at Symphony Hall, Jordan Hall at NEC, Sanders Theater at Harvard, Cutler Majestic Theater, and the Tsai Center at BU.
I recently attended a Celebrity Series presentation of the Takacs Quartet with Muzsikas and special guest Marta Sebestyen. They performed Hungarian folk music, as well as the music of Bela Bartok that was influenced by by it. The music and production were both top notch.
