They make your food fresh and the couple that runs the place is very friendly and welcoming! The place seems to be empty more often than not so I’d say if you’re in the area, pop in a support a local small business. I had the chicken bibimbap and it was great!

Love the food here, and the owners! What I most like is this place does authentic Korean cuisine, the only reason I cannot give it 5 star is the menu, I wish they could have more options, like rice cakes, takoyaki, kibam which are all my favorites!

Very good salads, quite good sushi, exceptional value, very friendly husband and wife team. Service is endearingly slow. Oh and it’s a BYOB!!!

A cute little place for Korean food in Orient Heights. Parking can be tricky, don’t give up. The menu is mostly sushi and I think they even changed their name. The food was delicious and the owners were so friendly. The only thing about this that didn’t give more stars were the portions. They were really small. Don’t be fooled by the $ 4.99 special. It too is quite small, but delicious. You get a little bit of protein with a scoop of rice and sauteed vegetables. The dumplings were good too, but I’d rather have a meal for the same price.

oh my… we drive by this place pretty much everytime we go to boston, and the signs outdoor DONOT do it justice!!! It says sushi and other stuff on the outdoor signage and that absolutely put me off. you know fusion makes me very skeptical. So Unilocal lead me here the other night when the bf and i were looking to grab some take out for a movie night in. and wah la we came here, and when i arrived at the restaurant i really contemplated turning back, because i didnt know that was it… but we gave it a try, we got the beef bulgogi and unagi/avo roll, dragon maki and rainbow roll and my oh my YUM! They legit made everything from scratch which resulted in a bit of a wait but that’s cool, i saw them get rice and actually make it on the spot.hmm. This«husband and wife» place as my bf calls it was delicious and we will definitely be back when we want some korean/jap when we’re closeby. Our total was about 35 $ which is okay i guess, but i was hoping since it’s in east boston it would be a bit cheaper, but give this place a try… they are very very nice.

I was in East Boston and was pleasantly surprised to find a Japanese/Korean restaurant in the area. Stopped by here for a quick dinner not expecting much but turned out to be a pretty good meal. I got the beef teriyaki which was really tender and well-seasoned. The place is cozy, but seems like a largely take out place. I would definitely recommend it for a quick meal.

I came for lunch on a Sunday and ate in. The spicy pork special was pretty good for being only $ 8. I also ordered the fried gyoza. Both were really good. The pork had a lot of onions, it was a bit much. The gyoza was crispy and flavorful. I wouldn’t come here for a quick bite. Service was super friendly but on the slow side. There was another customer who ordered to go and I had waited for my food and finished it before they even got theirs.

Café Orient Heights is truly one of the best places to get amazing food at a confortable price in East Boston. I have lived in this town since I been a child and after going form restaurant to restaurant, my sunday choices are Café Orient Heights. I recommend the Salmon Teriyaki or the Chicken Katsu. The sushi is pretty amazing, The owner and his wife make the food from scratch every time you call them, every ingredient is fresh and the service is amazing. This place is a hidden gem, dont wait and go or order from it. Carlos S.

«Cody D.» is way off base on his/her review. You state that there are better options in Orient Heights… what may they be… enlighten us. Tacos perhaps? Or maybe Burger King is the other option in the area that you would recommend? There is obviously nothing wrong with the cleanliness of the operations because they are still operating dip-shit. I order from here on occasion and I must say it is the only healthy option in East Boston! They have excellent Bulgogi and sushi — both of which are reasonably priced and their delivery is very timely. The place is a take out place essentially — it is not a place where you would sit and«dine» — despite the few tables in the place. The food itself is on par with Koreana in Cambridge and it is reasonably priced. I rate it highly because there are no other options in Eastie, the food is on par with the«other» restaurants in other parts of the city, and they deliver.

I was surprised to see Korean fare outside Allston on Unilocal,so a friend and I came to try it out. It’s right by the Orient Heights T station, a small café with 3 tables and seating for 8 or so. We had an amazingly delicious Korean dinner for two for $ 30. We got bibimbap(rice, vegetables, and meat in a bowl for you to mix together and eat) with bulgogi(thin slices of Korean-style marinated beef). It was a hefty portion for $ 7.95 a bowl, and it was quite scrumptious to boot. We also ordered a one sushi roll and kimchi, which were both tasty. We were the only ones there on a Thursday night and received A+ service, though that might have been because we had a Korean speaker in the group. I noticed on the menu that they also have katsu(breaded, fried meat usually served with rice), which is a favorite comfort food of mine. I’ll be back to try that.

This little Korean place is a hidden gem! I’d walked past it so many times on my way home and finally decided to stop in for a late lunch. The café is tiny, and the owner, who tripled as the server and chef, was super friendly and talkative. I had the bibimbap, which ended up being fresh and tasty. The portion was a bit smaller than I was used to, but given the reasonable prices, I hadn’t much reason to complain. I left the restaurant with a smile in my belly and on my face. I will be back, Café Orient Heights! :)

I wouldn’t call this a hidden gem, although it is pretty hidden. Food was sub-par at best. And I have concerns about the cleanliness of the operation. They are the only Korean food shop in Eastie, so they have that going for them. There are better options in Orient Heights for food and far better Korean restaurants in the city.

This place is easy to miss if you don’t know that it’s there. It is odd to have a Korean joint amidst a mostly-Colombian neighborhood in East Boston, but a welcome addition ! This place seems to not get too much business. The inside looks like a Chinese take-out joint. They also serve sushi in here and advertise it also. I didn’t want sushi from a place like this but I DID want some korean food. I got the Bim bim bap which was good. The Kimchee wasn’t as «strong» as I like it or have tasted before. This is mostly a take out place with a few chairs and zero privacy in here. Overall I have had tastier Bim bim bap and kimchee, but this place is something different in a sea full of sameness. The owner(s?) are Korean(or at least look it) and the lady is very nice. I admire and like to support Mom and pops joints who take a risk to feed people. My bill was 11 $ — Beef bim bim bap, miso soup, kimchee which was all fairly good. I will be back … everyone should give this place a try.

This TINY little restaurant is great. I would really only call it a takeout place because although they have 3 tables it is not somewhere I would go for a sit down meal. The couple who owns it are so sweet and adorable. The food I would consider to be the asian equivalent of a pizza joint. Its fast and tastes decent, not the best bi bim bap I have ever had but I wouldn’t expect it to be. Its good solid takeout food at very fair prices. Check it out.

Café Orient Heights is a very simple place that you might not even notice from the street. The menu consists mainly of sushi, which from my experience has always been fresh and well prepared. It’s hard to find good sushi in the area for lunch, and I’m glad I gave this place a chance. Their house dish is Bi Bim Bap which is a pretty big meal that comes with rice, 5 kinds of veggies, spicy sauce(SOGOOD), an egg, miso soup and your choice of chicken, beef, pork, shrimp or more veggies. It actually looks rather plain, but it’s really good, and the spicy sauce goes a long way. They also really push kimchi, which is super healthy but not for all tastes. I don’t mind it, but I don’t love it as much as the population of Korea does. Plus the idea of fermented cabbage kind of throws you off. I would definately say try it though. The Gyoza here is excellent, it’s a must have. I get mine steamed and they’re perfect. Even the ramen here is great, which isn’t your $ 0.39 meal from Stop & Shop. It’s still pretty basic, but it’s SPICY, has some veggies inside and oh so yummy. Definately try this place out. They’re very low key and deserve more buzz. The lady and gentleman that I’ve dealt with inside have been very sweet and they aim to please. They also deliver which is always a plus.
