Bostonia public house is awesome! My friends go often but I finally went with them a few weeks ago, we sat outside by one of the fire towers which was very cozy. Our waiter Jay was so efficient and really on top of his game, lots of recommendations for food and drinks depending on what you might like. Also knows all the do’s and don’ts for someone with a severe gluten allergy. We also chatted with Jay the manger that night who is a very kind and personable gentleman. The lobster Mac was to die for! It’s a great place for a nice night out with friends.

My first time in Boston and decided to check this place out. What a wonderful place, the food was amazing. My wife and I shared their Clam Chowder which was rich and full of flavor. My wife had the Chilled Lobster roll which took lobster roll to a new level. My Crab Crusted Cob was incredible. Service was great and live Pianist made for a wonderful evening. Highly recommended!

HOLYSMOKES. The Bostonia is a dream to any foodie. After a week in Boston, this is the one place I would recommend to anyone visiting. The décor gives off an old-time, brassy, upscale vibe and there was live music playing(Sunday morning). The Bostonia offered one of the best menus I’ve encountered recently– with cool versions of all my favorite foods. They also incorporated Boston favorites such as lobster, in cool ways(ex: lobster quiche). Our server was friendly and I’ve heard that their homemade sweet potato donuts are incredible as well. I’ll be back for you Bostonia!

Just walking in this place was so cool. The bar stools and booths were high up and had cool foot rests. The waiter staff was attentive as well. The menu was incredible and it was one of the first times I could have chosen about anything on the menu. I got the hot lobster roll and it was delicious. I also shared with two others who got the hamburger and lobster frittata. Both were great too and I left very satisfied and full, but felt like I had eaten fairly healthy too. It was a bit on the expensive side… My lobster roll was $ 21 but it was a great experience. Definitely a must-do in Boston!

My boyfriend and I came here for brunch while in Boston. It’s a pretty and modern space. I really liked that they had live music. It made the experience even better. The brunch menu was a nice menu with various options. We started with the tater tots poutine. They were delicious. My boyfriend had the cold lobster roll and I had short rib poached eggs. We both enjoyed our dishes very much. The best part was the Bloody Mary bar. We were able to fill our Bloody Mary to the top with so many great toppings. They had cheese, different stuffed olives, shrimp, bacon, bacon wrapped scallops and more. It was also really fun making the drink. Overall, we really enjoyed It and would definitely return.

After a little mishap with the menus. We got a mix of dinner and lunch menus. We went during lunch time. The food was amazing and the servers were great. The tuna crudo is a must have… Lamb pasta and salt and pepper wings were great as well… Overall great place.

Very good stop for dinner this past weekend. In around 7PM Saturday — good crowd but was still able to get seated pretty quickly. Service from the second we walked in and throughout was excellent. Just a very friendly and inviting overall feel. Nice cocktail menu and no issues substituting bourbon for rye in one of their signature drinks. Started with the house made French onion dip which is exactly as it sounds — a bowl of dip with potato chips. The dip was excellent — not your average onion dip — waiter shared that they carmelize the onion first which is what gives it the explosion of flavor. For mains I had the lobster roll and Kat the scallops. The lobster roll had a lot going on — bacon pieces, avocado & coriander(plus maybe a few other things I don’t remember) which gave it a very unique flavor and texture. Definitely different, but definitely good. Thumbs up from Kat on the scallops. We were waffling on dessert when then waiter very confidently and cheerily suggested the donuts. He was so convincing we didn’t even ask the flavor up front. They were excellent and after a debate on what they actually were we finally asked and learned they were sweet potato donuts. A first for me but well worth the calories! Overall a very very good experience. Very good food, nice atmosphere and warm friendly service. Definitely on the return list.

OK food, OK service, OK beer selection. Being in the heart of the Financial District this is mainly an after work warehouse for banker and lawyer types. So it’s more like suit-and-tie/skinny-blonde-lady cazh instead of carefree-night-out cazh. As such, it’s somewhat overpriced for what you get, though not outrageously so, and they get pretty good oysters. The menu is small though, and not that creative. I go fairly often because a coworker of mine cannot be swayed from it(he likes the skinny blonde ladies), and I have never seen anything new on that menu. Service ranges from perfunctorily polite to curtly frazzled, and occasionally openly impatient. I’m always glad when I get one of the polite ones. So, it is what it is. If you want a place to go when you want to feel like you’re going to(and spending at) someplace upscale, then Bostonia won’t disappoint. If you want something with originality and attentive service, you would be better off elsewhere.

Food is good, experience was bad. Would not recommend to a friend. 1) Made a reservation, arrived early. STILL waited 15 min past reservation time. 2) Seated in the back, in front of the servicing area. Lots of smoke and waiters traffic. 3) Coming out of bathroom, waitress spilled a beer AND cocktail all over my clothes.

Went to Bostonia Public House a week or so ago for brunch and was quite impressed with the restaurant! I had the Crab Hash and a Bloody Mary(with all of the fixings). The Crab Hash was perfect — loved that there was an ample serving of crab with the rest of the potatoes and sweet corn. However, I have to say that this was probably the best Bloody Mary bar that I’ve been to! There were numerous items to add onto the Bloody Mary(oranges, lemons, and more interesting and unique items like bacon wrapped scallops and miniature donuts)! Furthermore, the service was wonderful. The bartenders were pleasant and attentive. There was even live music playing that morning. Will definitely return the next that I’m in Boston.

LOVE this place, it is really something special. Was trying to go to a bar in a hotel. It was closed for remodeling. I asked the worker there for any suggestions in nearby since they were closed and thank goodness he suggested Bostonia Public House!!! Night one was just for drinks. The drinks were so much better and the bartender service was so much better than what we had been experiencing up until then in Boston. They has some live music on that Saturday night, as well. They told us about the bloody mary brunch that was the next day, and the very next morning we were the first people there! Hah. I have never been at a place late at night and then practically knocking on their doors to let me in first thing in the morning. The challenge: one pass at the bloody mary bar after your glass was filled with the bloody drink for $ 18. Challenge accepted. I definitely won. We didn’t need to order off the menu after that! It was amazing. And even the drink mixture itself was killer! I didn’t need to add or change anything about it. The dinner menu looked good, as well. We didn’t get the chance to try it, though. If I return to Boston there is a 100% chance I’ll be coming to the Bostonia Public House again.

Came to BPH on a Saturday night for dinner for two. I called at around 6PM same day and got 8:30PM for the reservation. Not bad! We were quickly seated in the booth next to the window, right by the door. Our waitress came over promptly to take our drink order despite how busy it was at the time. There appeared to be a bridal event or something going on upstairs so I think it’s safe to say there is a reserved area large enough for private events. We ordered the following: House sangria; 2 raw oysters; fork tender meatballs; rosemary polenta fries; chilled lobster roll; and the BPH burger. The house sangria was a red and it was decent, although I’ve had better. It tasted like red house wine with a whole ton of brandy added(read: it was strong). Would I order it again? Maybe, but probably not, given that their draught beer selection was very appealing and I had heavily debated beer vs. sangria. I’m no oyster connoisseur but I can at least say the oysters I had were fresh and tasted great. They came with some lemon wedges, horseradish cocktail sauce, vinegar, and a mini bottle of Tabasco hot sauce. all of which I took advantage of and have no regrets about. They were cleanly separated from the shell which made slurping them up super easy and trouble-free. I enjoyed them quite a bit. The polenta fries were PHENOMENAL. If you’re a fan of polenta, I highly recommend you try their polenta fries. I’m a little apprehensive about truffle mayo because I always like the sounds of it but come time to eat it, I find it usually too heavy and overpowering. In this case, the truffle mayo complemented the polenta fries perfectly and came in just the right amount. Add a little parmesan sprinkle for some salty cheesy goodness and I am all set to go! Don’t remember tasting much rosemary but at that point, I didn’t really care because the whole thing was just so delicious the way it was. The fork tender meatballs were a great choice too, and you best believe its name is well earned. The meatballs were tender, soft, but still had firmness to them. The meat was well seasoned and wasn’t overpowered by the sauce, which was friggin amazing! The sauce reminds me of the sweet tomato sauce you’d find on a perfect margherita pie, aka to die for. I didn’t get to try the burger holistically since my SO ordered it but I did get a nibble of the meat, which I found satisfactory. I’m not much of a burger person but I can see someone who does regularly enjoy burgers finding it worthwhile. My chilled lobster roll came with a side of fries(thumbs up) and a side of sliced pickles(also a thumbs up if you like sweeter, less pucker-inducing pickles) and isn’t for the faint of heart if they’re lobster roll purists, but I can’t deny my love for avocado on everything and anything. The filling could have been more generous for the price I paid but overall, I’d probably order it again. after I try everything else I wished I could order but just don’t have the stomach capacity for. I foresee myself coming back the next time I visit Boston. All in all, it was a very good dining experience. TL;DR: get the polenta fries and the meatballs, I beg you

I came here because I saw it on Unilocal!I had bookmarked it as a place I wanted to go to and I am happy that I did! We started with tator tots poutine and holy moly… heaven. Get them. I then got the burger, with a side of Mac and cheese… and also the fries because I don’t care in the slightest about diets. The Mac and cheese was phenomenal. Get that too. Our waitress was very friendly and I always appreciate when managers come over to check on how your experience is. They did this. Kudos. The ambiance is very pretty and very classy, yet you could get away with jeans at the same time(there is a bar, afterall). My friend who lives in Boston had never been here so I wanted to go somewhere that would be new for her, too! She got the lobster Mac and said it was fantastic! Little pricey but I’d definitely come back here. X’s and O’s! J

Stopped into Bostonia on Sunday for brunch and really enjoyed it. The atmosphere is lovely and we were seated at a high top table near a window which was great on a beautiful sunny day. There was also live acoustic music near the bar which was a really nice touch. I ordered the short rib Benedict and really enjoyed it. The hollandiase was delicious and the short rib was super tender and flavorful. Can’t comment on the cocktail selection as I didn’t partake but the menu appeared to have a good selection of interesting drinks. My friend opted for the Bloody Mary bar which is 18 dollars. You get a bloody mary with your choice of vodka for no extra charge and then open access to the buffet where you can add various toppings to your drink like bacon wrapped scallops, donuts, cheese, shrimp etc. You only get one run at the buffet but if you get creative you can really pack on the toppings! Overall I really enjoyed brunch here but I am taking off one star for service. Our waiter was a bit discombobulated and kept forgetting things we ordered. Not a huge deal but it was a tad frustrating by the end as it happened more than a few times throughout the meal. Certainly wouldn’t deter me from coming back though as Bostonia seems to be a great spot.

First off, fantastic décor, interior is warm and inviting with lots of unique pieces and rustic appeal. The location is dreadful for anything besides your own two feet — it’s in the heart of the FD surrounded by the grandeur of all the business buildings. The service is polite and well informed, they respect your sense of privacy and space when you’re in a large party, which is quite nice actually. I didn’t feel rushed or confused during the order process and the waitress was helpful and smiling throughout our group’s struggle. We loved the food and drinks; everything was delicious, bold and fresh. The burger was fantastic but the mac & cheese is what blew me away; talk about unique! Definitely worth a visit for anyone around the area; but more importantly for out of towners. Our party was from Cali and they enjoyed the experience, very Boston-flair!

I am absolutely so happy to have come to this establishment! Everything we ordered was just exquisite, savory, shareable, and amazing! We were looking for a great steakhouse. the Bostonian Public House came up as one of the top recommended on Unilocal and I see now why! This vibe in the environment, décor, and staff make this place a 4.5 star establishment. I will say, as a steakhouse, I was expecting more red meats, and they basically only have one main entrée with beef. That said, it was amazing. We ordered the tater tots, the polenta fries, the cold lobster roll and 2 orders of the steak and potatoes. The lobster roll was pretty good, a bit on the heavy pepper side, but the avocado gave a good creamy-ness and helped with cutting the soft heat. The chopped cilantro also comes through while the bacon on top is just the good amount of crisp crunch it needed. The steaks looked simply amazing, they came with a potato type layered cake and greens. We had a small issue with the first steak being overlooked, we did not fuss at all, but asked if we could get a medium raw instead and we had three staff members including the restaurant manager to apologize. I wanted to mention this because honestly, I have never felt so amazed with the amount of costumer service and care the The Bostonian offers. That is the way to keep clients coming back, and ensure that this becomes a quick regular spot. This is a great place to come for lunch with an upscale type feel. We arrived around 4pm and waited for the dinner menu to come up. By dinner time, a gentleman sat down to play the piano for us. Man, perfect way to enjoy your meal. Also, if a margarita lover, the perfect pear margarita was really good and while the alcohol feels hidden, it’s definitely in there! This is a great spot for a first date, a second, and then to bring back the kids years later! Hope more restaurants take a note from Bostonian Public House! Keep up the amazing job and keep cooking up some amazing food!

Loved this place! Decided to go to brunch yesterday for Valentine’s Day last minute and found this place on Unilocal.Being that it was the coldest day of the year by far, we were hoping to be able to get a table without a reservation. We opted to eat at the bar, which was just as good with full service. There was a musician playing guitar which added really added to the ambiance. The cocktails and food were delicious! We started with the poutine, and then had the French toast and eggs benedict which we both thought were out of this world. Service was great! Would definitely return if in Boston again.

I wandered in here for dinner on a very chilly(and rainy) Friday evening. Though the place was pretty busy, I was able to secure a seat at the bar and order a delicious cocktail from a bartender with a cute accent. The cocktail was light and fruity and definitely helped warm me up after exploring the city all day. For eats, I had the tots poutine and the spicy wings. All were fried, all were delicious. A calorie splurge that proved to be completely worth it. The poutine did get cold quickly so you’ll need to eat those fast. But they’re so good you shouldn’t have a problem doing so. As I mentioned, the place was very busy — if I were a Boston local, I could see myself being a regular here. The clientele were very attractive. :)
