Very happy to report that the quality of beef at the Metze bar has been significantly upgraded. It’s very tender and devoid of any of that previously mentioned gristle. In fact, it seems that the Metze bar ingredients in general have been upgraded. Now if only the beef was of the grass-fed variety! Too much to ask for ANY restaurant I suppose!

It’s a good neat place. Recently they changed their setup and order is delivered quicker than before. I like their Tandoori Chicken Shish Kebab wrap. Chicken is grilled perfect and with all ingredients it tastes delicious. Chicken Burger meal is a good deal as well, it comes with fries and a soda.

I don’t understand any bad reviews for this place. It happens to be a few steps from my office and it’s definitely my favorite lunch food in the area. I can’t get anything other then the hot and cold salad bar because it’s so freaking tasty. I love basically anything on there and it’s pretty reasonable for salad bar prices. From the pre made kale salad dishes to the pasta mixtures and the hot fish or falafel. I also always ask for a tahini sauce to drench over everything, and the free pita you get as well. If you’ve never been, go now… You’ll have zero regrets!

I really, really wanted to love this place. Unfortunately, all of the food I got from the hot bar was cold, the fritters were soggy, the falafel were rock hard, the quinoa salad on the cold bar was totally flavorless, and the quinoa was overcooked and lacked any of that firm, popping texture that makes it so awesome in the first place. I might have been able to deal with the falafel if I’d had something to add some flavor — but the tahini they gave me was disgusting. It tasted incredibly sour. Speaking of sour, they do sell cans of Turkish sour cherry nectar, which I’ve never seen before, and it’s totally delicious.

Placed a very large catering order for our weekly catered lunch. Boston Kebab House did not disappoint! After looking at their menu, we weren’t 100% sure what to order exactly, so I spoke to the very nice lady on the catering line who made some fantastic recommendations based on how many people and our budget. All entrees come with sides, so there was plenty of food, and everyone in the office was very satisfied. The thing that people kept saying was«I am full, but I don’t feel like I need to take a nap now» which is how we normally feel after our catered lunches. If you are looking for fresh, delicious food, this is highly recommended. Delivery was right on time, sides were just enough for our 60 people, and the utensils and plates they give are superior to most places in terms of stability.

I am never going to this place again, and you shouldn’t go there, either. I’ve been there three times. The first time I didn’t know how to order, and blamed the half-salad I got for $ 8 on my own bad ordering technique. I was stressed and confused — I didn’t understand anybody working there, and I felt bad asking them to repeat themselves! The second time I slipped on their floor, which was wet. If I had been injured I probably would have had a real lawsuit. Today was the third time. After paying $ 8 for a quarter-full medium salad, I have decided that I am never going to this place again.

Today’s visit was slightly disappointing. I always enjoy the kale and tuna salads on the cold bar. Unfortunately the tuna salad was missing today. I was forced to try the orange chicken on the hot bar. Sad to report that the kale salad today was gritty. It was obvious that the kale was not washed as every bite had a sandy crunch. The orange chicken was just OK. I am usually very happy with my selections and therefore not sure what happened today. I will give them another try soon.

I went here so many times and loved the salads but today was the second time I found«something» in my food that did not belong there. First time there was a small rock in my sauteed spinach. No big deal — stuff happens when it’s food from the ground. But today was just gross. This gross bug that appeared to have a giant egg filled tail crawled out of my salad as I was eating. The manager refunded my money but said this has been an issue with other people as well and they are«looking into other vendors». Would never eat here again.

The more I go here, the less I enjoy it. The meat is medium quality, a bit tough and chewy. The flavors are brash and not complex. The salad that comes with wraps is ho-hum. I really should stop going.

I really enjoy this place for a large salad, but they never put enough of each ingredient in the salad so instead of just getting a few things I really like I get a lot of things to make the salad more fun. They have a bunch of types of dressing which is nice. Also the kebab plates are also good. They have a lot of food on the plate, so if you are really hungry get a tandori chicken plate! Dont forget to ask for aoili and hot sauce!

Line goes out the door during lunch. You need to be nimble and quick with your choices. It’s a rapid fire game of salad toppings. Hesitate on the falafel? Don’t even think about it. Not sure if you want apples in your salad today? Blood pressure goes through the roof. Snap decisions are made. But in all seriousness, people really move fast through the salad bar, so even if the line is down the stairs it’s not a huge wait. Prices are super reasonable for the salad line(~$ 8), since you get unlimited veggies and can really pile it up. People go out all out here with the toppings. There’s a separate line for kebabs and other hot foods, and also a self serve line of soups and by the pound salad if you are too hipster to stand in line with everyone else. Basement seating is cozy, and the restaurant in general is claustrophobic and probably a fire hazard with how many people I’ve seen stuff themselves in here. Overall, really great lunch option with heaping portions.

4 Stars This is a surprisingly efficient operation, but it can be confusing. I’ve been a fan of the salads(build your own) because it is a good deal. You have to be careful to not over do it, you could get a shock at weigh in. The meze and warm are also a great choice, again restraint is required. My go to meal is the Doner Kebab(5⁄5), one the best I’ve ever had. I mix up the plate and the sandwich. After that I like the Kofte Kebab(5⁄5), again prefer plate. My third choice is the Chicken Kebab, nice marinade. The Falafels(3⁄5) are good but in my opinion not their strong suit. Other items I like: 1. Hummus(4.5÷5) 2. Babagunush(4⁄5) 3. Grape Leaves(4.5÷5) 4. Tabboule(4⁄5) 5. Bulgor Pilaf(5⁄5) don’t always get a starch at lunch but this is awesome. The downstair seating is cozy but it fills up quick, go early or late if you want to eat there. In the spring/summer/early fall; get it to go and hit the Post Office Sq «Oasis», bench or grass seating also fills up. * parking: No, No, No. You could leave your merc/bmw/audi on the street but I wouldn’t. PO Sq garage. * great food good organization that gets you fed quick. * for the most part staff are friendly, but it’s high energy environment. * the«Go Salads» are a deal just not my style. * prices keep climbing but that’s every place in Financial District.

I have been many times. It’s a good place to have lunch. The store is small but you can find almost all mediterrian foods. I think they should this have bigger place. Guys are nice and kind. I liked them.

I wanted a sandwich half falafel half kebab and I got no falafel and a dry kebab meat. Disappointing, we were a big group and they forgot half of the extras we ordered. Point: do not come with a lot of hope over here, if you order from the menu you will be only ok, if you come with extra requests… Forget it.

See what happens when you find yourself back at an old favorite after a hiatus? Changes! Prices have inched up. The soup special has been phased out. The old school board in the window is now a screen. Well, at least the fries are the same wonderful double-crisp fires. I checked out the weekly specials board and opted for the falafel and chicken wrap $ 7.24. I added the fries, and was asked if I wanted to add the fries as a side for $ 2.75 or to swap out the salad for $ 1.95. Given the option, I swapped. They gave me this slimmer cellphone sized buzzer — much easier to handle than their old square buzzers. It wasn’t too long before it started flashing on me and I stepped on over to pick up my lunch. A seriously stuffed wrap greeted me when I popped open my styrofoam container. The fries next to it however seemed quite skimpy, since I could see the foil beneath it, peeking through. But still, they were the crispy fries of my memory, so that was good at least. The wrap was hot chicken with nearly room temperature falafel wrapped in a pita with a bunch of veggies, and grilled a bit. It was plenty for my appetite which made the fries an okay portion for someone who doesn’t like leftovers. Me, I like leftovers, so, now knowing this, I realize should have opted for the full side of fries for the extra change. With a nearly 2 buck upcharge for replacing my salad with the fries, I expected a more generous portion. The Self-Serve Meze & Hot Station bar is now $ 8.75/lb. With the soup promotion having now ended, a small is now $ 2.95, large $ 3.95, and if you add a small soup to a $ 5 or more purchase, that’ll be $ 2. The manned salad bar is now $ 3.50 for a 12 oz small with 1 protein + 4 veggies + pita, $ 7.75 for a medium bowl of 2 protein + unlimited veggies + pita, or $ 8.27 for a large of 2 protein + unlimited veggies + pita. As always, if you want a salad, join the line to your left. If you want something hot, step on in and up. And if you want to sit and eat, head on down the stairs with your bounty. 3 stars Update: Spoke with Suely about the portion of fries I received, and she agreed that it was scant for the price. So, there is hope that I am the last that will experience this lack. *** 6⁄2015 *** Came for some meze items after 2:30pm for 30% off for later, so got my make-up side of fries(thanks Suely!) and picked up a new $ 30 gift card. I had one of their old coupons for a $ 5 discount off the gift card when paying in cash, which they honored. But what was also nice was that the owner recognized me as a regular(yes, even after my hiatus!) and offered me a $ 5 discount off my gift card purchase. Sure, I already had it due to my coupon, but the thought still counts! Yep, my fan star is back.

There are only two reasons to go to this place: 1. You don’t have a lot of time for a lunch break, and whatever it’s healthy and you’ll probably be full. 2. You have bad taste buds and are therefore a bad person. Every time I’ve been here I’ve been hit with wafts of average in every bite. There’s nothing offensive about any of the ingredients or anything and they seem fresh enough, but whether I get a soup, a wrap, or a salad. It’s not that good. You’re probably wondering«Hey Edba, why would you come here so often???». A lot of the aforementioned reason 1 and sometimes indirectly(I have evil, average-loving coworkers) reason 2. Seriously, stay away. There is just far better Mediterranean fare nearby(Zo and Piperi come to mind; give those a shot).

Absolutely obsessed. Best salad in Boston. A bit intimidating, the line that wraps down the stairs and out the front door is worth it. 8.50 for a massive salad packed with whatever you can fit into it. 2 proteins– um HELLOMASSIVECHUNKOFAVACADO! Amazing falafel. Great value, GREATLUNCH.

The best-value salad you’ll find downtown! For about $ 8 you get two proteins(I recommend chicken kebab and avocado) and all the additional toppings you could ever want! And boy do they have a lot of additional toppings — you’ll have more to choose from than you could ever imagine. This place is a dream and nightmare all at the same time for a girl like me whose eyes are bigger than her stomach. It’s nothing fancy and isn’t branded with organic, healthy, clean-eating jargon like most places you’d think to get salad, but it’s definetly my favorite weekday salad lunch spot downtown!

This is my favorite place for lunch in the Financial District. All of the wraps and sandwiches are great. My favorites are the tandoori chicken shish kebab wrap and the chicken parm on a bulkie roll. If it’s crowded, I’d recommend going with one of the chicken kebab wraps. Somehow, no matter how busy they get, they can get you a chicken kebab wrap in about three minutes.

Whenever I’m in the area for meetings, this is the place to go for me! Healthy food options, fresh choices, tasty buffet priced by weight, & a discounted price I believe until 3 p.m. every day, this place has it all! They have a seating area downstairs as well. I love how much pita they give you with the meal too — perfect for my hummus. They offer both hot and cold options for the buffet area which is priced, like I said earlier, by weight. AWESOMEPLACE

In love with this lunch option. $ 8 for a medium salad! This includes two proteins and unlimited veggies — and no, falafel doesn’t count as a protein! Bonus points! There are so many options for veggies I’m always happy with the end result of my salad. $ 8 also includes your choice of wheat or white pita. Sidenote — I love the guy that starts your salad. He’s precious. I’ll have a medium salad with spinach… «Yesss» is his response with a wide smile as you go through the options to add to your salad. Adorable.

New year, new job… scouting new lunch locations. Sick of going to the same restaurant for food for the last week, I finally branched out and ordered the Middle Eastern salad from Boston Kebab House — it comes with romaine, tandoori chicken, grape leaves, boiled egg, beets, tomatoes, cucumbers, chickpeas, grape tomatoes, red roasted peppers, and a side of muhammara dressing. Delicious. I also ordered a side of their falafel and I’m officially obsessed. It is probably the best falafel I’ve had in Boston thus far. It has a hint of spicy kick to it, which pairs perfectly with the yoghurt cucumber sauce. I would have given this place 5 stars, save for two issues… 1. It’s an absolutely cluster-f-ck in there. You have no idea where you are supposed to order from, where you pay… or what order you do any of that in. Which brings me to my next point… 2. I ordered and paid online, but when I finally figured out which register to pick up from… my online order had gone unnoticed and they had yet to make it. I ended up waiting longer for my order than had I just walked in and ordered on-site. All that said, the great food outweighs a lackluster online ordering system so I will be back and once I visit a few times, I’ll have the lay of the land.

The salads here are 5 star. $ 8 for 2 proteins and as many veggies as you want? C’amaaaaan, it doesn’t get any better than that! Their oriental honey ginger dressing is SOGOOD. I always add falafel(not considered a protein so you can add it on top of your protein!), tofu(also doesn’t count as a protein), quinoa, and like 20 other veggies. Super hefty, delicious salad. The people who work here are always so friendly and provide awesome customer service as well. I love you Boston Kebab House!

I love this place, I really do, but don’t ever order something from their grill. Their salad bar is great — extensive selection, all the veggies you want, fresh, and CHEAP. The line here can get long around peak lunch hour(12 – 1) but is usually short before or after that time. They also have a nice selection of hot foods by the pound. I’ve ordered from their grill a couple of times because they have a nice selection and prices are decent. However, it takes them FOREVER to do anything at the grill, even at odd hours when no one else is there. I went here around 3 one day and there was no one in there, I ordered a veggie burger, and waited. And waited. Someone came in after me, ordered a wrap, got their food, and left. And I waited. It’s a little absurd, I think, so stick to ordering salad and get outta there.
