The service is friendly, the place is cosy and has a cute seating area, there’s relaxing Puerto Rican music playing, and the food is really cheap! I had a guava pastry for less than $ 2– it was fluffy and crispy, and the guava filling tastes fresh and sweet.

Third time here in the span of two weeks. I’m committed to the Cuban sandwich here. A generous small size sandwich is under $ 7 and it’s prepared wonderfully. The meat has flavorful seasoning and the sandwich is packed dense and neat. Four stars only because I think there can be some improvement on the food variety there. The cashier who helped me did tell me that fruit smoothies may be offered relatively soon. I hope so!

Loved everything about this place and will def be back! Went in yesterday. The woman behind the counter was friendly and informative(let her know if it’s your first time). We ordered a cubano and a tripleta sandwich. Both were easily customizable and well seasoned, even when we re heated the leftovers. They also sell pan sobao and pastelitos de guayaba– near impossible to find in Boston! Grab them while you can, yum! A hidden gem in Boston.

Absolutely delicious!!! I’ve passed by this place so many times but have never tried it! My fiancée and I got the pernil sandwich(pulled pork pretty much). I asked for extra seasoning which they informed that it is not necessary bc they season it well.(I’m always hesitant because places never season it enough) I am so satisfied!!! Loved it loved it loved it!!! Thank you! Will be coming back!

I’ve never had a bad meal from this place; super fresh ingredients and the service is always great and very friendly. Can’t recommend the Cuban sandwich highly enough — get the extra large loaded with everything. Amazingly amazing at $ 10 and is more than enough for two people to split.

I finally checked this place out and so glad that I did! The BF and I took a walk over this morning for some breakfast. We were greeted by a very nice young woman who asked if it was our first visit to the bakery. We replied yes and she gave us a full lowdown of the bakery. We ordered two coffees and a large ham, egg and cheese sandwich to share. Within about 8 – 10 minutes we were shamelessly chowing down this delicious sandwich. So frigging good! The bread was to die for… all toasty and our sunny side up eggs were cooked perfectly. On the way out we picked up two loaves of the heavenly bread that they bake fresh every morning. Two different types, a soft, huge loaf as well as a smaller loaf(water bread) that has a crusty outside with a soft center. Sorry Dr. Atkins(RIP)! It’s safe to say that this will be the start of a regular thing for us both. Check this place out folks!

Great food… when it finally comes out. Went with a visiting friend(Puerto Rican) who wanted to check out some«home style» food. Nice, clean place and the person who waited on us was very nice. But the food took FOREVER to get to us. Not a complicated order — three sandwiches. But the wait was kind of hard to believe. Hopefully they’ve ironed this out because they are a needed addition.

Good basic Puerto Rican breakfast and hearty sandwiches. The bread is baked fresh each day and the meats are nice and juicy, which is just the kind of thing you want in a cubano or tripleta sandwich. They have sides like maduros(sweet fried plaintains) and multiple kinds of rice. Really good pastries with guava filling. The best times to go are Saturday and Sunday mornings. Has only been open for a few months, so they’re still working out kinks. Their hours say they’re open in the evenings, but right now I only see them open for breakfast and lunch. Basic diner — no frills, but delicious and cheap. Call ahead to make sure they’re open.

I’ve only stopped in for pastries but I need to come back and try everything else. Pastries were cheap and tasty, service lovely and humble. edit– I’m going to have to knock this down a star, but I’m glad most people are having great experiences here. We went in for breakfast one weekend and waited 45 minutes for a breakfast sandwich when there were only about 4 other customers in the place. they kept on saying, «just a few more minutes!» for about ½ an hour. No excuse for that, we probably should have left!

Great place! Love the fresh baked breads, the pan soboa is so addicting. I like that they use their fresh baked pan de agua to make their cubanos. The first time we went we tried the cubanos and it was to die for, the cook that made it knew his stuff. The 2nd time it was a different day and so the cook was different and the cubano was good but not great like the first time; the ham was chopped a little to big for my taste. We went recently again, different cook also; assembled perfectly but was lacking in seasoning like the first cubano. Have also tried their fried pork chop plate w/tostones. I am not a fan since I don’t like my pork well done but the fresh fried tostones was delicious. One of the owners is wonderful and friendly with whom we’d talked shop while waiting for our food. Their pastelillos and puff pastry desserts are good esp if you get them still warm out the fryer and oven, respectively. Last visit they had morcillas(blood sausages) and alcapurrias, which seems to be a hit since people were ordering them like crazy.

I was so excited to stumble upon this place! I have come here twice, so far. Once when I had a sweet tooth and wanted a pastry and once to pick up a couple of sandwiches for my family. Their pastries are homemade and are SOGOOD! They have a sweet cheese pastry and one filled with guava. They might have a larger selection in the morning but I was very pleased with them. When I went to get some sandwiches, I recommend the Cuban and the Bistec. They were both made with pan sobao, which was so soft and yummy. I recommend getting the Cubano with mayo and ketchup(the P. Rican was), might sounds weird, but tastes really good. Both sandwiches were huge and around 7 or 8 dollars. We also got a pastelitos filled with such flavorful chicken or beef. Some of the best I have had in a long time. Their pan de agua is amazing and so cheap! You get two loaves for like $ 2 or $ 2.50. Their flavorful food, great service, friendly and informative staff, and convenient location gave them 5 stars! I can’t wait to go back to try their platos or breakfast.

I live around the corner from this place and was pleased to finally check it out. The coffee is fantastic– nice and strong. The bread is amazing and a breakfast sandwich on that bread is super tasty. The service is sweet and friendly. It’s a great little place. Can’t wait to sample more of their menu!

I just moved to the neighborhood and stopped in to check out this local place. I had tasty Cubano sandwich. I ate half for lunch and the other half for dinner. I will be back to try out the other food there.

A Puertorican bakery has recently opened up in Dorchester and I am in heaven. «Pan Sobao» heaven. Pan Sobao in literal translation means Caressed Bread or others call it soft bread. That’s what it is, super soft bread. It melts in your mouth and you realize you’ve eaten a whole loaf all by yourself. I was so anxious for this bakery to open up because I’ve gone as far as Holyoke, Ma to get this bread. Now it’s only 15 min away from home. I don’t know if this is a good thing or a bad thing. but. if I become big as a house eating bread all day long. I’ll die a happy life! :D The bakery doesn’t only sell this awesome bread, they have ‘Pan de agua’ — crunchy exterior bread with soft center, almost like a french bread. They sell different types of Spanish pastries, one of my faves are the ‘quesitos’. It’s a pastry puff filled with a sweet cream cheese. Yes, I said sweet cream cheese. :drools: They also are a café making breakfast and lunch sandwiches with their homemade bread and they serve up puertorican style meals for lunch and an early dinner. The prices are great. Pan Sobao and Pan de Agua are $ 2.25. Breakfast plates are from $ 5-$ 6. Lunch Sandwiches $ 5+. I didn’t give the bakery 5 stars because they’re still working out a few kinks. They’re open from Monday to Saturday 7am — 6pm & Sundays 8am — 3pm. I wish they were open later in the evenings because it’s hard to rush out of work to catch them before they close. The place it self is very humble, they didn’t put much effort into the look but more into the quality of their food. I hope they make it for the long haul cause I sure would miss that bread!
