This place is more of a take-out place than a sit-down restaurant place, but they do have a few tables and a lunch counter. More like a Chipotle version of Mediterranean food. Food was decent, but certainly wasn’t fresh made at that moment. Probably more like that morning or the night before. I got the tabouli, hummus, and vegetarian grape leaves plate. The grape leaves were decent. The hummus pretty much straight up hummus. not bad, but nothing special. The tabouli had something weird going on with it. Can’t put my finger on it. Wasn’t bad, but didn’t taste of parsley and mint really. Something else was there and it wasn’t adding a positive to it. Anyway, if you need to get some middle eastern food in you and you’re near by, it’s not bad, but again more of a take-out type place.

Best falafel I’ve ever had! Food is very fresh. Huge portions, enough for two meals. If you order a salad get the dressing on the side(I wish they asked), grabbed dinner to take home one night and by the time I got home and ate it was a bit soggy. Chicken shawarma is pretty flavorful, a little too salty for me but I only use salt on French fries.

Was walking by and decided to stop in for lunch. It was filled with people. Ordered falafel, salad and hummus. It was a large plate of food!!! Reasonably priced. The food was freshly made and very good. Great for lunch or take out.

Been here many times for lunch since its right across street from work. Prices average for in the city. I usually get a plate with two sides. And I have tried almost all of them. The meats are flavorful and tender always. I love their hummus. the Falafel I have tried a few times and is always wicked dry. Maybe it isn’t my thing. Its usually always busy which is a great sign. Fast service and pretty much friendly all the time. Décor is nice, and not over done. this isn’t an every day lunch for me but for a treat it works and I feel somewhat healthier picking here then the others close by!

Went in wanting to order a beef shawarma plate — no fries, double salad with 2 sides. Guy convinced me instead to just order a salad with beef shawarma on top — even though i was hesitant, he was persistent so I went with it — 1 greek salad topped with beef shawarma. Nasty. Beef was virtually inedible — gristley, chewey and gross. Spit out. Salad was sub-standard — very little feta, super oily and tasteless dressing. Very disappointed — and now for a second time. Won’t be returning.

I just started working next door to Bishop’s and needed a place for a quick lunch. I got the chicken shwarma wrap and added a side of falafel. The garlic sauce is delicious, but very garilcky so be careful. The food came out fast, but you could tell it was also fresh. I will definitely be back!

On a Saturday night before closing, my family and I went to Bishop’s to enjoy the best Mediterranean food in the area. We enjoyed several things, including chicken kabob, hummus, rice, green beans in tomato sauce and salad. Since they were almost closed(closing is at 6pm), there weren’t any French fries yet which is a shame because those fries are some of my favorite. It reminds me of when I was a kid going to Bishop’s Restaurant in Lawrence. Anyway, the main point of writing this review to to give a big compliment to an employee named Dennis. He was very friendly, kind, fast moving and generous. When we first got there there wasn’t much food left but he went in the back to heat it all up for us — and he also gave us extra sides. We received great customer service from him. Also, the prices are pretty reasonable for the amount of food you get. Great location, too!

First visit — I ordered the Chicken Shawarma Plate with hummus and falafel as my 2 sides. In just a few short minutes I was handed what felt to be about 10 pounds worth of food! Along with my order came a rather large, fluffy piece of pita which was very good. The chicken, while a bit dry(even though it was sitting in oil), was not lacking in flavor. The pickled veggies were a nice addition, but I wish there were more than just 4 sad slivers! I really liked the hummus — just the right texture and creaminess without being overwhelmed by garlic like others I’ve tried. A very generous portion of it too. I don’t have as nice things to say about the falafel, however. There were three pieces generous in size but hard as week-old bread, too dry and not all that flavorful. Oh well. There are several other options for sides I will choose next time! Such as French fries, rice pilaf, Greek salad, side salad, the list goes on. I’m optimistic that I will continue to enjoy this neighborhood joint and I look forward to sampling more of the menu.

First time here– the food was decent. I ordered the chicken kabob pita wrap to go(my office is literally next door). While they were quickly prepping it, I did notice they love to drizzle olive oil which is common for this type of fare. I got my wrap and booked it back to the office to chow down. The wrap itself was decent, the chicken was on the dry side, but the other fillers in the wrap(pickles, lettuce, tomato and hummus) made up for it. However when they prepped they did add olive oil to the wrap… a little too much. I am not a fan of a drippy wrap unless I have the proper precautions of napkins everywhere. In addition to that the wrapper of the wrap was slick with Olive Oil from the cook’s gloves. Note to the staff– you might want to change your gloves every few orders. Needless to say there was Olive oil everywhere and it made eating a rather messy operation. Two stars off for over usage of oil, and dry chicken. I will not be deterred and will try other fare there at another time.

I work nearby and really like this place. It has a variety of food options(from healthy to more filling) and it has always been very quick. Also they offer a discount for employees at MGH(and maybe other places?) which is great! The fattoush salad and Greek salads are great and fresh. Also the chicken kebab and shawarma plates are good and it’s a great deal because they give you tons of food. Overall I really like this place for lunch at work or a quick bite. It is clean inside and well run, the employees are always pleasant and cheerful.

An excellent place to get your daily dose of shawarma or chicken kabobs. Generous portion, chicken kabobs is probably one of the best I had. Go for the plate as you really enjoy the sides that come with it and don’t forget to try their fries, they are awesome.

I love mediterranean food, but this place is not good. I got the beef shawarma plate with hummus and fattoush salad. The beef came out of a tin drenched in some liquid, clearly not fresh and even with the liquid tasted dry and tough. The hummus tasted store bought, although store bought might have tasted better. As for the fattoush it was good, but I never had it before so I can’t really judge. I will not be back.

I ordered a Fattoush Salad with Chicken Kabob. The menu clearly states this is $ 5.50(salad) + $ 3.75(kabob). However, when the cashier rang me up it showed $ 5.50 + $ 4.50. I asked him why it was $ 0.75 more than on the menu. He said«tax». But, as I told him, tax was listed below as an additional charge. He shrugged his shoulders and said he didn’t know. He asked, «are you ok with the extra fee?» I said, «no». He answered, «Well, there’s nothing I can do about it. You can ask the manager.» At that point, he looked over to the manager, who was standing 4 feet away, packaging orders from previous customers. He had heard the whole conversation, and looked at me with a blank stare, then continued packing orders. I said, «Really??» Then, with 5 people waiting behind me, making sounds of frustration, I said«fine, charge me the extra 75 cents.» The food is pretty good, but the register having pricing that’s CLEARLY more than the menu(digital menu, easily updated, I might add), is unacceptable. Seriously, if I were a Harvard professor, I’d be suing these guys for $ 2.25 right now. New place, false price advertising, under-trained staff, and manager who cares more about boxing up food than helping angry customers = 2 stars. Get it together, Mr. Bishop!

We ended up here because we were on an all-out tourist quest for Neptune’s and Mike’s, but the Apple navigation system led us on a wild goose chase(wild lobster chase?) Although good Mediterranean food is usually not found in upbeat places with large TV screens and colorful booth seats, I was drawn to the fact that the diverse menu. Being all Unilocaly and touristy, of course the pitas and kebabs were out of my radar and I opted for the random, adventurous choices: ROLLEDCABBAGE, $ 6(rolled with a mix of ground beef, rice and seasonings, cooked in a lemon juice garlic sauce): This tasted pretty close to what I expected, except the lemon part was a bit overwhelming because it turned out to be so sour. If you like bold flavors that push the limits of a socially acceptable lemonyness in an exotic-looking beef and rice cabbage roll, this adventure is for you. BAKEDSTUFFEDCLAMS, $ 5.50(2 cherrystone clam shells stuffed with New England clams topped with our special walnut stuffing, crisp bacon and cheese): LOL confused tourist here… I felt obligated to choose something with«New England clams», and it didn’t help that it was categorized under specialty items. After a somewhat long wait, the much-anticipated clams turned out surprisingly gimicky. Nothing screams fusion more than a layer of melted cheese and a guilty sprinkle of bacon, and I didn’t know that it had a layer of breading so the first thought crossing my mind was a layer of sand. Once you get over the unexpectedness(and can finally eat the hot-out-of-the-oven clams without burning your mouth), the flavors and textures are quite interesting and very savory. I would complain that it’s rather salty, but other than that it’s a good choice for the adventurous. PITA: Somehow I ended up with a huge piece of saran-wrapped pita, and I’m not sure which dish it came with. In any case, it was alright, grocery-store-grade but the packaging was especially convenient for stuffing it in my purse for a snack on the go later on. While I thought Bishop’s was an interesting dining adventure, my friend found the hummus and cabbage rolls too sour, and wasn’t satisfied with the kebab plate – eat at your own risk!

I’ve had lunch here a few times, and it was just okay. I had the chicken shawarma wrap once and a grilled chicken wrap another time. Both times, the chicken was on the dry side, although the shawarma was flavored nicely. The food’s nothing special, but I’ll probably go back to try some of Bishop’s other options – the location is close to my office, and I’m hopeful that this place can improve. Also, it’s nicely designed and clean inside, and there are many seating options(including some tables outside).

I really do like this place a lot. The food is great!!! Today I ordered 6 beef grape leaves. However, when I got them home, I had 3 veggie and 3 meat!!! Very very disappointing!!! Please pay attention. That being said… I will be back. Also… Could you please add meat grape leaves to your plates section!!! Thank u

I’ve eaten lunch here a few times since it’s opened and the food seems to be getting better each time. I would recommend the plates as you are able to customize your order. The falafel is cooked perfectly. Only downside is there is only one cash register open during the lunch hour rush. There is always about a 10 minute wait between ordering and getting your food. Definitely worth a try!

I’ve all but parked myself outside of this restaurant waiting for it to open. The day finally came yesterday! We were one of the lucky few to have wandered by during their first dinner service. I got the beef shawarma plate with rice pilaf and salad while the manfriend ordered a Greek salad with chicken shawarma. The owner sheepishly handed us two paper cups for soda and said they were on the house since the ice machine wasn’t working yet. Manfriend’s plate came out with beef instead of chicken. We waved it though – it was their first night and they seemed a bit flustered. My plate came out with a small salad, a big salad, small portion of rice and some meat. I’ve been spoiled rotten by the plethora of Mediterranean restaurants in the financial district so I felt the portions were really skimped here. I also didn’t realize the plate didn’t automatically come with rice but the small salad instead. The rice was very underdone. I threw most of it away. Small salad had weird pickles. The salads were fresh but the beef was very salty. Also no tahini? The space was clean. Staff was very nice. I’d say these were first time bumps and hopefully it improves.
