My son and I went to Bills trying to grab a bite before the game. It was not busy at all many empty tables. After virtually begging for a table. We were ignored for 10 minutes while 5 twenty somethings chatted and flirted ignoring my «when the heck are you coming over here state». The entire staff/manager and waiters should fired that were on duty at 5pm Friday, May 20, 2016. But then again maybe the next owner/manager will care about his customers.

Thursday night, I went to Bill’s in search of a stolen phone charger, after a lengthy search around Lansdowne Pub for the thief woman. Adham, the bouncer, was quickly able to identify the woman who had taken it, even with my brief description of her height and hair color. I was really impressed that Adham paid such close attention to the people entering Bill’s, and I am so thankful for his help! Thanks, Adham!!! Excellent customer service!

If I could give this place negative stars I would… The bouncers and management were extremely rude and condescending and made the experience absolutely terrible. A better dancing and night out experience can be found almost anywhere else in Boston besides this place and landsdowne pub. A night was ruined due to these men and this bar.

I reserved a few tables for my birthday celebration last friday evening. The booking was seamless, the door and coatcheck were stress free, and the bar was great. The newly refinished look was great to see, and the electronic music was spot on.

it’s great that bill’s bar has a live band, making a fun place to check out newer bands and dance. it is set up well to support the music and dancing, since the bar is toward the front and the stage in the back. there are a few tables in front of the stage, but plenty of room for people to stand. the drinks are not too expensive, which is nice for the fenway area.

Last night I came here with a large group of friends ready to spend $$. There were not a lot of people or anything. Mind you, I have been out of college for 3 years now. The dumbass bouncer said our friend’s ID was fake. The kid is 25. I told the bouncer to get a cop to run his ID. The bouncer said the cops will laugh at his ID. I told the bouncer, «No, they will laugh at how bad you are at reading ID’s.» Needless to say the ignorant retard did not let us in. We proceeded to the sister bar, Landsdowne where another bouncer told him he was completely wrong. That dick bag spent the rest of the night grilling us. All that BS aside, Bills still has a shitty sound-system and is a sorry excuse for an EDM establishment. I have been dragged here many times and never leave happy. Fenway area really needs a decent club!

Alisa, How soon can we start spreading your ashes? Bills is overpriced, over rated and not at all in a safe place for a female to walk alone. Obviously, your standards are very low… Get a grip. **** please be advised that this review is bogus. I never visited this establishment and obviously my account was hacked. I have no knowledge as to who any of the employees are nor do I have knowledge of who the owners are. For those who are reading this beware there are hackers around!!!

after a horrible experience at some of the clubs down near faneuil hall I had given up hope that there were any fun places to go dance in Boston, but Bill’s Bar & Lounge proved me wrong. I actually first heard about Bill’s Bar in the movie Fever Pitch and was so glad that I decided to go there. I went on a Saturday night and there was such a great vibe. The music is a great mix of modern hits and dub-step. And if your not in the mood to dance there is a 2nd level that has the typical sports bar vibe. I loved that when i needed a break from dancing that i could take a break in another room that had great 90’s hits playing. love bill!!!

This is my favorite place in the whole world. I told my friends that they must ensure that my ashes are scattered here when I die. Awesome DJ’s, awesome music, my friends and I love to dance and Bill’s is WAY better for fun drunk dancing with a group of friends than Landsdowne, where you’re bobbing around to music that you can’t quiiiite dance to and fighting to get through the crowd to get another drink or go to the bathroom. I would describe the atmosphere as a divey club. Sometimes it’s awkwardly empty before 11pm/midnight so I would suggest a thorough pregame before going. Never awkward for me and my friends though– again, this is absolutely my favorite place in Boston.

Bill’s is a solid place to go around Fenway, and the fact that they’re attached to the Lansdowne is a plus. However, there really isn’t anything special about Bill’s that from all the other places that surround America’s most beloved ballpark that serve overpriced drinks.

Cool little venue. Sometimes the bands suck and it hurts to listen to, but if it’s a good group, that’s a great place to see them. Definitely intimate, and sound is usually great for a space like that.

Thank you Bill’s for being conencted to Lansdowne. I love to dance, but some of my friends are into the stand-around-drinking-a-beer bar scene. I could still be with my friends at Lansdowne and run into Bill’s to get my fix of dancing whenever I wanted during the night. The DJ was pretty good. He played: 25% hip hop 25% top 40s remixes 25% House 23% Dubstep 2% Hard rock(???) I would have given it 5 stars if the DJ had left out the Dubstep and Rock and added more House. The house that was played was very good though.

Sweaty. That’s all I really have to say about Bill’s. But other than being surrounded by warm, humid air– the music here is pretty good, the dancing happens, the drinks are drunk– nothing too special. But, it is a nice addition to be able to bounce back and forth between Bill’s and the Lansdowne Pub. We arrived at 12:30 on a Saturday night– and although the line was short– we kept being told we probably weren’t going to get in because they were at capacity– and as people slowly got out of line, we got in after only 5 minutes of waiting. and that’s probably the only amount of time I was willing to wait.

A great spot if a band is on, but otherwise, it’s just like any other bar in the area. Good size, quick service, and good crowd.

This place is a million times better then it was five or so years ago. It has a better atmosphere, better bartenders, it’s a lot more clean then it was before and deserves praise unlike before. We were there on a saturday night and even though there was a long line to get in it wasn’t to crowded when you got in. Yes, it was busy but you still move, get to the bar and not feel smothered. They had really fun music on too, no grungy band as how you may have previously remembered bills. I love the bartenders! These bars have definatly stepped up when it comes to hiring their employees, even the bouncers are cool now! They’re not out to be big time douche bags, they’re there to make sure things stay calm and respectful. Unlike lots of places bouncers these guys care about your safety but also realize youre there to have fun. They always greet you nicely at the door and tell you to have a safe night when you leave. I appreciate that. This place is worth a cover now and worth waiting in line if there is one. You’re more then likely to have an awesome time!

this place was nice for the event. went to see a friend’s band play there… blaque lyte… good stuff. The bar was kind of small, in a good place near Fenway, but crazy on the weekends… everything always is. good stuff though.

This lifeless, bleary, poorly-decorated club reminds me of those episodes of Trading Spaces where one pair finds out that their neighbors actually secretly hated them so much, and therefore furnished the room with mismatched, ugly crap. Surprise! At the very least, my suggestion would be to do a complete style overhaul, slip the surly staff some happy pills(just kidding!) and rename the place«Mr. Bill’s Bar.» Because every time I visit it, I scream, «Ohhhhh noooooo!»

I was here for about 5 hours this past Saturday and whoa. overload. I was working merch for some musicians and arrived almost 3 hours before the show. The place was full of VERY drunk Red Sox fans(and the game had just let out). The guys playing that night(4 separate artists) were doing sound check and this one drunk kept yelling«Play SOMETHING!». I really don’t know their policy for kicking people out, but he stayed for awhile and was completely plastered. He was going up to women and saying things and then stumbling off to the bathroom. Didn’t seem right. but oh well. After a couple hours the bar began to clear, and the low neck line sundressed women and button down shirted men rolled in along with the musicians’ screaming fans. There were a lot of «Staten Island» girls between the two sets if anyone knows what I mean. ;) A few Sox fans lingered in the back of the room getting wasted till they started to like the music. The sound was okay at first then got better through the night as the musicians yelled their preferences from stage(it also looked like they had at least two sound board operators switch off). There was still a good mix of people not there for the musicians so there was a ton of background noise in the videos I took. Oh and the TV channel changes made me laugh slash were sort of distracting. from Law and Order to Finding Nemo then to baseball. Muh? As for staff, I personally didn’t deal with the bartenders(my friend was getting me drinks since I had to watch all of the merch tables) but they were kind of jerky to her. They said they weren’t serving tap water that night and that she’d have to buy bottled. When she said, «Really?». the bartender said, «Well I can give ya a cup of ice and you could go to the bathroom?». I’ve only known one other bar to do this(check my one star reviews), but seriously lady? During the summer? The bottled water was $ 2.50. I’m kind of torn about my rating. The snooty bartenders, its proximity to Fenway bringing in loud patrons looking to mix/mingle instead of listen to the music, and the kind of gross bathrooms(that huge picture of Bill Clinton. what?) get a low rating from me. On the other hand the good music and decent space(although the red Chinese lanterns weirdly paired with the record sleeves and hanging motorcycles threw me off since the latter reminds me too much of Hard Rock. not really a good imitation IMHO) are cool with me. Come here after a Sox game. not so sure about any other night.hmmm.

I’m not entirely sure how this establishment is now, since it’s been awhile for me, but 13 years ago it was probably one of the best music venues in Boston(along with the Middle East). I think it was around 1992 or 1993 when I last came here, and I remember it vividly because it was a night in which Radiohead performed their first ever show in the United States. It was a spectacular show in which three other bands opened up for them. Based on many of the other Unilocal reviews on Bill’s Bar & Lounge, it sounds like the place has gone down hill a bit.

The downside to Bill’s Bar is that it is very narrow and is easily cramped. However, you can actually buy bottles of High Life there– not like that is something to brag about, but atleast it’s affordable! Overall, it’s a cool place. *I walked past their last night and it appeared to be closed(10pm on a Friday night), so maybe I’m out of the loop about something?
