Best Dressed

I used to rent from Rent the Runway, but I’ve had more than one horrible experience with the quality of their products, so I decided to try to find somewhere local to rent. The boutique is small, I was worried about the lack of product to pick from, that was a terrible assumption to make.
Their selection is surprisingly vast and no matter what your body type is, you’re guaranteed to find a dress for your event. Give these folks a shot!

This is a gem in the Navy Yard and Boston. I have rented dresses twice for formal fundraiser/​awards dinner. They have a good selection of styles and sizes, with a I think a skew towards shorter dresses that are great for cocktail party, weddings and other non black tie events. The co-​owner Nik is really amazing about offering feedback on a particular look, finding dresses to try and giving great advice on pairing with accessories. Speaking of accessories, they have a beautiful and created collection of items for sale and for rent– I have done both and always been showered with complements on the looks!

I just had a baby so none of my dresses were fitting for an upcoming wedding. They had lots to select from so I found a dress I loved. Super helpful too!

I love this place! I needed a formal dress for a black tie winter wedding and was able to find a great option. In fact, too many options to choose from! The staff/​owner was super helpful in not only offering suggestions but helping accessorize as well.
So, I can 1. Rent a formal gown 2. Not have to worry about dry cleaning 3. Have it for 5 days and 4. Find accessories all under one roof? Sign me up!

Best Dressed is an awesome rental shop. When you arrive for the first time, you’ll find the dresses are organized by size. Grab a few options and head to the fitting room. The owners are very helpful — they’ll help pull dresses with you that they think will match your event and give you style tips! It’s really fun. When you find a winner, you’ll reserve it and pay for the rental upfront. Prices start around $ 45. It’s very reasonable to get a dress + accessories for less than $ 100. Don’t miss the for-​sale jewelry — it’s all very reasonably priced! Pick up and drop offs are really easy. You’re in and out in less than 1 minute! In my option Best Dressed has more unique picks than online rental sites like Rent The Runway — plus you can try them on! I had never seen either of my dresses in person or in magazines. Highly recommend.
Tip: Tack on dinner or drinks after your rental pick up or drop off at Pier 6. It’s a restaurant around the corner with great food and an amazing view of the skyline.

I’ve always used rent the runway but when my dress fell through for a wedding only a few days away, I turned to Best Dressed! It was perfect for finding a last-​minute option, and they have so many dresses to choose from… I had trouble picking just one!
I’ll definitely be coming here more often for upcoming weddings/​events!

This is the perfect place to find a dress for any event. They have a great assortment of dresses, the hardest part was choosing which dress to rent. Vicky and Nikoleta are both amazing and helped me pick out the perfect dress for my bridal shower. I have never gotten so many compliments on a dress! I will definitely be going back and would recommend to all my friends!

This is a must for any ladies in the Boston area who love high fashion. I had several weddings this year and wanted a unique and beautiful dress for each one… but did not want to pay the $$$ for a designer dress that I would only wear once. Best Dressed has a fabulous selection of dresses for any occasion. Nikoleta and Vicky are super helpful. They suggested that I try on dresses that I wouldn’t normally pick for myself… and they ended up being beautiful. Overall I found four very special dresses for the price that I would pay to buy one. Parking can be kind of a pain but definitely worth spending a few minutes to find a spot for such an awesome dress shopping (renting) experience. I will be back!

I went to Best Dressed after I realized I had no idea what to wear to an outdoor, fall wedding at a BBQ joint. I had a great experience! The store has a large selection of both dresses and jewelry. To be honest, I was a little overwhelmed at first, but the lady working there helped me find the right dress for the occasion. She knew the fit of the dresses REALLY well, so she was even pulling dresses for me that were sizes I wouldn’t typically grab, but they ended up working out wonderfully! They also didn’t seem to mind that I tried on about 30 dresses… In addition to renting a dress, I purchased a gorgeous necklace for a great price. Easy to rent and easy to drop off.

The choices of dresses are constantly changing and each style is better than the last. It was a breeze to find a dress and the sales associate was incredibly helpful. I received many compliments on the dress. This definitely beats rent the runway! You can try them on and you have it for 5 days. Plus, it’s cheaper!

Nikoleta was so helpful in finding a dress that was perfect for the outdoor summer wedding I attended. I absolutely loved what I found and so appreciated the effort made to keep the experience as personal as possible — from being remembered when I walked in the store to pick my dress up, to offering to stay a little later so I could drop it off on my way back from the wedding, to the email thanking me for renting, I could not have been more impressed or happy with my experience. Everyone loved the dress and I didn’t hesitate to refer friends. I will definitely be back!

First and foremost, I wanted to say thank you to everyone at Best Dressed for their help in finding a dress for my Bridal Shower, which was a week away. I had just started a new job and was studying for a big exam so I didn’t have time to go shopping. So I figured what would it hurt to walk in and just take a look.
As a whole, I can’t begin to express how easy the process was! Best Dressed has a wonderful selection and a range of sizes. I was lucky to spot a dress (in my size), tried it on and love it! I think the whole process took about 30 minutes.
Nikoleta even helped to pick out a piece of jewelry to wear with the outfit. One fun fact, their jewelry is all for purchase, so if you are ever looking for a fun piece to wear with a dress you already own, don’t hesitate to stop in.
As for the rental process, I picked my dress up on a Thursday, the event was Saturday (in a different state) and then I just had to have it back by Tuesday. Truly an easy process and I will more than likely be using Best Dressed for every occasion when I want a new dress but would rather not pay retail prices!!!

I rented from here for the first time last weekend. I had a wedding and didn’t want to buy another dress I would only wear once. Nikoleta was so helpful with suggestions and giving an honest opinion on the dresses I tried on. I tried on about 5 dresses before I found the one and was in and out within 30 minutes. Such an easy process. I ended up with a dress and earrings for about $ 75 total. Their jewelry selection is amazing and so reasonable. I would go back just for that! I have a few more weddings coming up this year so I’ll be back!

What an amazing store! I’ve had hit or misses renting dresses online, so it’s wonderful that there’s a dress rental store in Boston, where you can try on a ton of different styles before you commit.
I went in on a Friday night looking to rent a dress for my upcoming bachelorette party, and Nikoleta was so helpful. She gave me honest opinions on the dresses I tried on, and most importantly, I trusted her opinions. I had a hard time deciding between 2 dresses, but went with a Parker dress (a brand I’d never even heard of before). The whole process was so easy and the 5 day rental window is great. You don’t feel rushed to wear the dress to your event and then get it back ASAP.
I highly recommend this store. It can be tough to find if you’re unfamiliar with Charlestown (like me), but it’s worth seeking out. I can’t wait for my next event, I will definitely be returning to rent another dress.

Was very pleased with the dress selection here! The owners were very friendly and helped me to find the perfect dress for a wedding. They also put a picture of me in the dress on their Instagram which I thought was so nice! I really appreciated the follow through after the rental. They made sure I was totally satisfied– which I was! Can’t wait to rent here again.

I feel so lucky that my friend introduced me to Best Dressed! I had a wedding coming up soon, with a tight time frame to find something to wear, and was sick of trudging through the mall and weeding through all of the lackluster options. I spent about an hour at the store (because once I discovered their great selection, I started shopping for my own rehearsal dinner!). All the while, Nikoleta was SUPER helpful, offering her honest feedback and pulling additional dresses as we realized what worked and what didn’t. I ended up renting a gorgeous Nicole Miller blue and black lace dress that I never would have purchased (due to its memorable look, it would have been a one-​wear-​then-​sit-​in-​the-​closet situation), and bought a great pair of earrings to boot all for less than $ 80. The 5 day rental window is great, too, since you can pick up the dress, wear it to your event, and not feel incredibly rushed to get it back. Love this place!

Such a fantastic place! The owners were incredibly helpful with finding the right dress for the events I was attending. They have a wide variety of sizes and styles, so there is no doubt that something perfect can be found. Also, there is nothing better then being able to try on a dress before you rent it. This way there is no doubt in fit, color or look. Plus, they have jewelry for sale which is a nice complement to the dresses!

I JUST found out about Best Dressed & used them 2 times in the past 2 weeks. Each time I had a great experience shopping with them! Nikoleta was super helpful, it is very convenient & they have a ton of dresses to choose from. I’ve rented dresses online before but am now a fan of Best Dressed. The two things that won me over is being able to try on the dresses & the customer service! I am so excited to have them in the neighborhood :)

I can’t say enough great things about Best Dressed! I was lucky enough to learn about them via a Blog on FB and was in dire need of a dress for a Black-​Tie Optional wedding. The timing was perfect as the wedding was just a few weeks out and i was tired of all the same old stuff i was finding at department store. Enter Best Dressed to the rescue! I always loved the concept of renting a dress, but not being able to try them on from online sites made me weary. Best Dressed has lots of options and lots of sizes.
My roommate and i ventured to their location (which has the most amazing city view!) and were greeted by Vicky, who could’t have been nicer. We were the only ones at the store at the time, so it felt very glam to have all the service attention on us! She offered us mimosas while we looked around and tried on, which was a fabulous perk! She explained how the process works and told us not to be too mindful of sizing since designers can run so differently. We both tried on several dresses and were so happy with our options.
My roommate had a tough time deciding between two and finally settled on a beautiful long, peach colored gown with pleating and hot orange lace trim (she got LOTS of compliments at the wedding on this dress!).
I did find a beautiful, kelly green Ralph Lauren, hi-​low dress that was just perfect, however the size was just a smidge too small for me to be dancing around in at the wedding. Vicky offered to look for the dress in one size bigger, as it wouldn’t hurt them to have another one in store. I was hesitant, since i didn’t want them to order it and then not end up renting it. But a few days later i emailed the store and they were happy to look. They were able to find the dress in two different colors, so i went with black. When i tried it on, it fit like a dream and was just what i was looking for. This time Nikoleta was great in helping find a bright necklace as a pop of color with the dress.
All in all, my whole experience with Best Dressed was amazing and I’ve been telling every girlfriend i have about them. I will definitely be back to rent from them again. I hope this review gives them the business they deserve, but selfishly i dont want my secret dress spot to be know to everyone!
