Raging Ron’s Hot is my favorite from Appalachian Jerky Company. A good dose of heat, but not so hot that you have to put it down. And I love the flavor, which is a complex conglomeration of soy sauce, worcestershire, garlic, chile pepper, and black pepper. And they cut it up into bite sized pieces so that you don’t have to pull your cuspids out. These guys have been rated on Best Beef Jerky, you can get the low down on all their flavors there:

Had the pleasure of purchasing a few bags of dried beef from these cats at the SoWa Open Market. Nonchalant dudes who can teach you how to jerky, offering a thicker, slightly moist snack that runs the heat gamut from«Oh, that’s nice» to «Hoooo! Gimme ice!» After sampling the THERMONUCLEAR, the capsicum punch was immediate but not overbearing. Tepid tongues would cower, but experienced chiliheads could readily down a package with no ill side effects. Finding a considerably more balanced flavor in Raging Ron’s Hot(the next step down), I went home with a 1.75oz bag for $ 4. Well, I say I went home with it, but really, that plastic was torn and the jerky devoured 10 steps from their tent. Big fan of what they’ve got going on, and I dig their stretch in to shaky waters of jerkydom with a garlic-rich spin on traditional teriyaki sweet. My only ding comes from personal preference in texture — I love a super dry, almost paper-thin rawhide style whereas AJC offers tender chunks reminiscent of Jack Links. But this is no shitty, off-the-shelf Jack Links jerky. High end ingredients and lotta love in every batch, I’ll snag a bag urrtime I run a SoWa lap.
