Ann Taylor

This is the worst Ann Taylor in Boston. The staff here is not helpful and frankly rude. If you want to try something on, you are on your own. No one asking if you need a room or another size, etc. And god forbid you by something online and have a return. They like freak out if you have 3 things to return. I’m not sure how this location stays in business, perhaps via the tourists. The one on Newbury Street has top notch service and Harvard Square one is super awesome. Not sure why this one sucks all the time! I have gone in during lunch, evening, morning, and it is consistently bad in customer service.

This store has lower prices on sale items than the Prudential Ann Taylor.
Some people on online clothing blogs/​forums say that Ann Taylor quality has gone down over the past decade. I’m not sure since I’ve only become familiar with Ann Taylor over the past 2 – 3 years. But I would say that I mostly buy things from here on sale. They have very good sales. I got some great work tops for 25% off 9.99; or only about 7 bucks.

I played with inanimate bodies at this store for two years.
I dressed the mannequins at the Faneuil Hall Ann Taylor for the better part of 2 years. Did you see me up in that window shaft? Struggling to stuff plaster arms into silk threads?
From this experience, I can tell you two things about Ann Taylor, and particularly about this location:
1.) Ann Taylor makes quality clothing, good enough even for plaster mannequins to wear.
2.) The Faneuil Hall location is the best place to work and shop if you would like a respite from the Culture of the Shopping Mall. The traffic in this shop is mainly tourists and lunchtime financial district suits. The attention you’ll receive from the sales attendants is second to none and the spaciousness and brightness of the dressing rooms here is very attractive. Especially if you want to try on the whole petites section just to see. Just to see if you are really a 4P or if this is all just vanity sizing, after all.
The best times to hit up sales here are after work. The store does not see much traffic other than at lunch and on the weekends. Say «Hi» to Nevina who will make you laugh and tell you what’s what in classic suiting.
