Always a great cut, never have to wait long, fantastic location and Abdul and other customers are always game for good conversation. View of Newbury street is an added bonus while you’re getting your haircut!

Walked in, no one was waiting ahead of me. I looked the barber straight in the eyes and smiled, expecting to be offered a seat at his chair. He looked away, no acknowledgement or a smile, then he turned his back to me and started texting on his phone. I wait, then wait some more. He then walks away into the back room without a word. While standing there I notice the price for a regular haircut on the wall. $ 35. It took me about 30 seconds to decide I wasn’t going to pay someone 30 years my junior to behave in such a rude manner. I’ve paid more than $ 35 for a good haircut before and it was well worth it. This ain’t one of um.

I had Abdul and he did a fantastic job. He clearly cares about what he does and puts meticulous detail into the cut. Friendly atmosphere. He takes walk ins but I suggest you call ahead to reduce your wait. Great cut for a great price.

I don’t usually write reviews, but it’s hard to find a barbershop you can trust in Boston. $ 35 for a great haircut. I would have been happy to spend more. I will be back for my next haircut

Paid $ 35 for a mildly bad haircut.

Extremely bad experience. The barbers hands stunk of cigarettes, leaving my hair smelling terrible and was looking up at the TV every 5 seconds. Also the trim cost $ 35 which seems extremely over priced for a walk in barber shop. He did cut my hair the way I had requested, however the customer service experience and complete lack of self cleanliness was disappointing and unprofessional.

Overpriced. Rude. I guess I will have to leave the life I lived after that barber shop. Maybe for better, maybe for worse. The barber used bad language. 35 dollars, !men’s! cut, no washing after, have hairs all the way around my clothes. The chair had hairs of previous customers. Probably, this is the place for older and more grown up guys, who can barely see and cannot react. Have only one question how did these old guys got to be around Newbury street? As the barber said rhe worst place ever

I had a quick haircut while travelling, and they matched my usual cut perfectly. You might think it’s easy for someone with as little hair as I have to get a good haircut, but it’s actually quite the opposite, it’s a challenge to make me look less bald. Very friendly as well. The prices are the best in the area.

Worst hair cut that I have ever had. Would give a negative score if I could. The guy cutting my hair was mono-syllabic when asking me what I wanted and made no conversation throughout the hair cut. After the first cut it looked ok and asked for a little more weight to be taken off the back. He then took another two inch off my hair so it is way too short and I now look like a fluffy chick. I can also see where all of the cuts have been made in my hair and it look terrible. I don’t know how in the profile it only has one $, was the worst $ 35 I have spent in a very very very long time. Avoid at all cost.

This haircut took about 10 minutes, leaving out the finishing and attention to detail one would expect for $ 35. It was slightly worse than Great Clips and the barber didn’t wipe pieces of hair off of my husband’s face afterwards. Were willing to clean things up when I asked.

Went to super cuts a few times before this… what a mistake. If you’re looking for a great haircut, this is the place to go. I’m very picky about my barbers, but this guy knows what he’s doing. You can have a nice chat, and get a great haircut at the same time. I agree with the others though that it’s a bit on the pricey side.

throw away all the business books and come for lessons from my barber… i show up at 7pm, the sign outside reads, «closed»… i walk in just to say hello and let him know that i’ll be back next week… without hesitation he offers to keep the shop open just for me for another half-an-hour… why should anybody act surprised to learn that i have been using the same barber for the past 4.5 years… this guy could teach an MBA course on customer loyalty — he just gets it…

Really nice guys and good cut but $ 28 is a lot for a really simple guys haircut that took 12 min. Especially since they don’t wash it after you’re done they don’t use a straight blade to shave your neck.

With the exception of my first haircut, Anfa has been my go-to barbershop while I went to school in the city. My hair acts funny when it gets too long, and walks a fine line between looking great and looking truly awful when cut. Anfa gets it right every time, and I will gladly pay a little extra to have it done right. The barbers are all respectful, friendly and love to strike up a conversation. They are very detail oriented as well as fast, but that does not detract from the quality of their work at all. I would recommend Abdul or anyone who works there to give a great haircut.

I am so upset with the haircut my brother got from this place. We explicitly told them multiple times NOT to cut a lot of hair off and the first thing they did was cut it all off! Absolutely ridiculous! We were completely disrespected by these people, and it was not appreciated.

Nothing but good things to say about Abdul and AFNA. If you’re looking for a $ 10 haircut, go to great cuts. Go to AFNA if you want quality haircut every time at a fair price.

Abdul treats me like I am his favorite customer. Truth it he treats just about everyone that way. Not only does he give a good haircut but he is a pleasant guy to hang around, and honestly that’s part of the experience I look for when choosing a barber. His other barber is just as good when it comes to cutting hair but his English is limited. I agree that $ 28 is a bit much but if you want to pay less just drive out to the suburbs and save yourself $ 10. But if you are like me and live and work in Boston you simply have to accept that businesses in the Back Bay can’t survive without charging more than average. So look at $ 28 relative to the other shops nearby and feel like it’s a bargain. Highly recommended!

One of the best classic barber shops I’ve ever been too(even a little Ghetto when the owner and his homies start arguing in their native language). Clean, friendly, and during the spring/summer when he leaves the windows open, you feel like you’re in some LL Bean-ish resort barber with the perfect Bostonian neighborhood ambiance. The guys are great with both kids and adults, and I’ve had great experiences on all three visits. He also has a great lollipop jar that has the BEST barber candy ever.

If you are in search of a great barber in the area, definitely check this place out. This was my second time here. First time I looked up a solid place for a hot shave for my father(he had a broken hand and couldn’t shave). I came today for my own hot shave(head and face). Between the hot towel, the warm shaving cream, the shave, the reapplication of shaving cream, the second go around, and the almond aftershave the whole experience was very relaxing. My only complaint is that there was a little irritation which was likely do to the fact my skin isn’t used to that kind of blade or shaving cream. It was $ 30 for the whole bit which seemed to be very reasonable in price considering the time he spent on me. My friend got a haircut he really liked for $ 20. I think for a location just off of Newbury, you probably wont be able to find something with the same service for these prices. The hot shave alone is $ 17 and there are discounts for children and students. Both of the guys seemed to remember me from coming in with my dad and asked how my graduation went.
