This review is way overdue, since I got married 13 months ago.
Better late than never, though, and I wanted to give Ana the credit that she deserves for making me a beautiful custom wedding dress (for the same or smaller amount of money than much worse «designer» dresses in intimidatingly posh salons)!
The dress was everything I was looking for (which was impossible to find in one dress among pre-​made dresses), fit me like a glove, made me feel comfortable and at my best on my wedding day. Ana understood exactly what I was looking for and executed on it perfectly, even suggesting various improvements along the way that I would not have thought of myself.
I got tons of compliments on my dress, both during the wedding and from people looking at pictures later.
If you are looking for an amazing wedding dress, go see Ana and she’ll either adjust a dress you already have or make you an even better one from scratch.

After reading all the wonderful reviews about Ana Hernandez I had high hopes of finding THE dress there. It’s a small boutique that sells ONLY ANA HERNANDEZ designs. What’s great is the pieces are unique and you’re not likely going to find many brides wearing the same dress. If you find your dress there, it could turn out to be a great experience because the uniqueness makes it feel special.
On the contrary, the collection is small, about 15 dresses more or less, so you’re not going to find much variety.
Upon arriving the consultant opened the door and told us the 2010 collection was hung along the wall. Clearly we could see that. She did not greet us or introduce herself. I didn’t want to let her rudeness stop me from finding my dress because I still held on to a glimmer of hope. Nothing caught my eye and we left after trying on 3 dresses.

If I loved Ana anymore I would be married to her. My dream dress cost over 6,000 at Priscilla’s. I came to Ana and she told me she could recreate the dress for less than ½ the price. Sold.
She has a small rack selection but the point of going to Ana’s is not to buy off the rack but to create the dress of your dreams. Hence if you want something ready made/​designed this might not be the place for you. However if you want your own creation then Ana is your girl.
Ana made my dress better than the «dream» Priscilla dress. She went to New York to find special lace for my dress. I enjoyed my time with her as its a journey creating a dress. I looked forward to my chats/​meetings with her as she is funny and calming and likes to call everyone «Miss».
Ana also created a reception dress for me in under 3 days!
Did I say that I love her? I do.

I cannot say enough about Ana Hernandez and her beautiful dresses! I shopped around and had an idea of what I wanted but just couldn’t find anything special enough. When I walked in to Ana’s she gave me several of her dresses to try on, listened to what I wanted, had some suggestions and completely and confidently designed my dream dress. If Ana wasn’t so great it may have been unnerving at times. Although I had a very clear idea of what my dress would look like I never actually «saw» my actual dress until it was finished just a month before the wedding. Typically, when you go into the larger chains you try the actual dress on so you know exactly what you are getting — but they alter and alter and alter the dress down which Ana does not have to do b/​c the dress is created for you. Ana is just so wonderful that I had confidence in her and my dress the whole time.
Ana truly made me a one of a kind dress and it fit like a glove. I lost quite a bit of weight just prior to my wedding and it was so wonderful that Ana was able to work with me. Because she doesn’t put the zipper in until just before your wedding date she never actually had to do any alterations, it was made to fit me weight loss and all. And she was able to build all necessary bust support into the dress so it was beyond comfortable my entire day.
I just loved my dress, I cannot say enough for how lovely it was and how easy it was to work with Ana. I found her prices were very reasonable considering she make you a one of a kind dress! Ana is a gem; anyone looking for a wedding dress should stop in and try her gorgeous dresses on. Keep in mind that it is a small shop and Ana makes all her own dresses — so don’t plan to just drop in, call ahead for an appointment and you will not be disappointed.

Nice wedding gown store. They have some beautiful designer pieces/​samples for a nice discount (ex. $ 6700, 40% off). And Ana’s gowns, as well, which are pretty well priced (around $ 4000 but with some discounts, and if you get a sample she’s working on, that hasnt been finished yet, it’s almost half the price).
I guess the reason I’m not rating it very highly is because they didnt have a huge selection (maybe 30 dresses or so), and not a big variety… and the associate, also called Ana, is really friendly but didnt really notice what I was thinking about in a dress, and more what she thought would be good for me. I only tried on two dresses, and she felt she had found the perfect dress for me… She is really sweet, it just wasnt right for me, that’s all.
(On a side note (because I like reviews that refer people) if you’re looking for sample gowns from high end designers, try Vows where you may get a better discount and more variety. If you’d like high end but more variety, try l’elite).

I called Ana Hernandez to see if I could make an appointment to try on some gowns for my wedding next year. The woman on the phone was extremely curt and short with me, saying only that they wouldn’t have any gowns available until September 1 and if I wanted to I could come by to see what their dresses looked like. She then abruptly hung up.
I was certainly miffed by the rudeness, but had a gown to find so I went with a friend to their salon on Newbury to see if I could at least get a peek at the gowns to have a better sense… The hours on the door said they were open (as had the woman on the phone), but when we knocked & rang the bell, there was no answer. We could hear women laughing and walking around inside and even could see them through the window… but no one would let me in.
FAIL.

Ana Hernandez has gorgeous wedding dresses. She gives each bride personal attention that you wouldn’t expect from a designer. Unfortunately, I wanted more involvement in my wedding dress choice. She had very specific ideas on what style I should wear, how my hair should be styled and how I should accessorize. While that type of attention showed how much she cares about her designs I didn’t feel she cared about what I was looking for in a wedding dress.

I walked into Ana Hernandez’s salon in its old location, circa 2001. I had seen a gown I liked in the window, and Ana was kind enough to encourage me to try it on immediately, no appointment necessary (if you’ve shopped for gowns, you’ll know how unusual this is for a bridal salon). I made an appointment to pick out fabrics, came back, did a couple of fittings, and boom — done, beautiful gown with no hassle. Ana is a sweetheart and an excellent designer. Recommended!
P. S. Prices are reasonable for what you get at AH, especially when compared with the artificially inflated prices you’ll pay at area bridal salons. Sometimes it’s definitely worth working directly with a designer!

Came to Ana Hernandez with a good friend who is getting married next year.
The salon is just the one main room, so open by appointment only. When you arrive, you’ll be buzzed in, and then the door is locked and curtains drawn – and the main room becomes the dressing room. A bit daunting at first.
The gowns are along 2 walls, and you can pick out what interests you, and Ana’s associate will help pin you into the dresses. She & Ana are both very nice, friendly and helpful.
The gowns themselves are certainly beautiful. She (obviously) doesn’t carry the wide range of styles and fabrics other larger stores would carry, so I would recommend visiting the website before booking an appt. to see if your taste is in line with hers.
Overall we had a good experience, and would recommend visiting the store if you’re searching for a wedding gown.
