Their filet mignon was excellent. Spicy tuna sushi the best in town. Kyosa great. Even their dinner salad was great. Make a stop here you’ll be glad you did.

We were all excited to go for dinner after a busy day of showing dogs. We all left the dog show at the same time but then I realized I didn’t have my phone and had t go back and look for it and then we were late. The restaurant would not seat everyone until everyone in their party was there so everyone waited and starved until we got there. Then when we got there we asked if we could be seated and the lady said there were no tables. It just didn’t seem so busy but ok so I waited until another lady came by and said something and she said oh sure if your party is here we can seat you. So she went and told the lady that said no tables and told her to seat is and there were two empty hibachi tables. So we were seated and waited and waited for someone to take our drink orders. Then we waited for a very long time Before they finally brought our drinks and then it took them forever to come and take our dinner order THEN we didn’t think a chef was ever going to show up but he finally did. Mediocre food and the 2 shrimp appetizer didn’t get served until last. 3 of us ordered sushi and the chef was already well into cooking when they finally brought our sushi… I mean everyone else had ate their salads and soup. We were starving. The sushi rolls we ordered were delicious and beautifully served. Everyone else said hibachi was«meh». At the end my friend asked about sharing another roll but I was full so she ordered a salmon hand roll. In the past, salmon hand rolls are always fresh raw salmon, nice and pink wrapped like an ice cream cone in seaweed. Well, this one was not pink at all, it was brown. So we asked the lady to check it and she said oh yes that is correct, the chef warms it up to make it better. WTH?! So my friend took a bite and just was not pleased and didn’t eat it. It was gross — please see the picture I will post. The server should have seen we were not pleased and offered something else but she did not seem to get it. The chef was not interactive at all and did not engage anyone at the table, was not entertaining, did not season the food well, did not clean the hibachi before he left. Just a very sub standard experience. Of course, it is always expensive at a Japanese hibachi restaurant. It’s ok when you get what you pay for but here we did not.

Place was spacious and wait staff was attentive, that’s the only reason I give this place ONE star. Our food took a tremendously long time to get to us, we ordered 3 rolls and were the only people in the restaurant. The sushi presentation was nice but the actual quality was worse than poor. The salmon was so poor we could not bring ourselves to swallow it, and the tuna was very pale. I would not recommend this place to anyone local or visiting.

Keeping it short, Kobe continues to impress. Their sushi both on terms of quality and freshness have been extremely consistent. Certain rolls have become staples every time we visit. Service has been improved greatly and overall have zero complaints whatsoever. Only thing holding them from that 5th star now, at least for me, is that«wow» factor. Rolls while mostly unique almost feel as if playing it too safe. Change up the special menu more often and make it to where most times I can come I can try something new. Kobe has become the sushi place of choice and the one I now recommend to those looking to enjoy sushi in the area. Keep it up !

I really need to share my experience today, Labor Day 2015. Dear Kobe’s, Please close if you don’t feel like working on a holiday… Because that’s the vibe I received from beginning to end. I arrived at 1:30pm(with the intention of moving quick because I know you all close lunch shift at 2pm). The waitress«greeted» us with a big sigh and roll of the eyes, as she shuffled around doing other things. We sat ourselves and after 10 min, she came by, dropped off the menus, and asked for our drink order… all without making eye contact. We placed our order, then she proceeded to relay the info to the sushi chef to which she loudly said, «Are you going to remember all of that? or am I going to have to repeat myself?!» I truly thought this waitress was going to lose it when I realized I forgot to ask for a side of fried rice.(A little scared at this point?) We then received our food at about 1:50 pm. The food was very good(the only reason I’m giving 2 stars). At about 1:58 pm the music cut off and everyone started cleaning up. We just paid the check at this point. By 2:06 pm, all TVs(except one) and 90% of the lights were shut off(except the ones in our area). We felt very uncomfortable, and it was pretty obvious they wanted us gone. So we shoveled our food down as fast as possible(I truly just wanted to run out the door at this point). By 2:15pm we got up and walked out the door. We made it out to the parking lot and noticed the only car left was the busboy’s car, who promptly walked out and drove off at about 2:20 pm. I guess everyone at Kobe’s was missing out on an epic Labor Day party or something. It’s too bad that I felt the need to share this horrid experience… Because Kobe’s was my #1 sushi place for the Bossier City/Shreveport area. Not anymore. Sincerely, A former fan.

Out of towners beware. Service was horrible. We came at 1:30 and they close for lunch at 2. There were three tables already there and the habachi. There was only one server. She was rushing us to order. We ordered 7 sushi orders, the pieces are cut very thick. We also ordered edamame, kyoza(had way too much sauce), beef takaki, Kobe balls, and baked mussels(it is not served in the shell and had a lot of spicy mayo). We also ordered 2 rolls. Beware, they are enormous rolls. I ordered the lsu roll. The ingredients were«secret» so I was hesitant to order, we did anyway. I did not like the roll. We asked to have it removed from our tab but the manager was not there so we were forced to pay for something we didn’t like. Overall, the rolls and appetizers are drenched with sauces. The only thing I liked was their fried rice. We will not be returning.

I have never had a bad experience at Kobe’s. I have never sat down there at a table, only their grill, because that is what they are known for. I have been going there for over 5 years now, and my entire family and I all love it. Every birthday that rolls around is an excuse to go. We are never disappointed by the service that we have received, especially not from the cook Patrick, who has become so requested by us that he has made the entire family nick names. The steak and shrimp are to die for, and everyone gets double rice when we go because it is truly unbeatable. I would never go to another grill in Shreveport or Bossier City.

Wow, where to begin. We went today for lunch. First, we had to wait for a while to even be greeted and the waitress that sat us had her child at work with her and she kept distracting her. The grill didn’t work and we had to be moved to another table. The soup was not served with spoons and there was no offer of any other salad dressing other than house/ginger. The«fried rice» costs $ 2.50 extra, but it’s not even normal fried rice. They put terakyi sauce in it and it makes it sort of sweet and mushy. They also put about 10 eggs in it so the rice to egg ratio was weird. I give them points for having broccoli in their veggie mix, but they also incuded mushrooms which many people don’t like and didn’t ask if anyone wanted them separated. They barely put any soy sauce on them and put too much salt. Also, the onion volcano was incorporated into the veggie mix after it was set on fire so that the veggies then had a weird taste. The chef then proceeded to put the most delicate seafood on the grill first before the chicken so that the man’s lobster had to have been as chewy as beef jerky. My scallops were so tough and drenched in a weird mix of lemon and terakyi sauce that I had to leave ½ of them on the plate. My son didn’t even finish his steak — I’ve almost never seen him leave food on a plate. Everyone around us was commenting about how it just wasn’t like any other hibachi place we had eaten. Lastly, the sauces were so strange that I was not even able to clearly identify what one of them was — mustard based maybe? All this for 2 people for lunch of $ 60. STAYAWAY from this place. It is horrible. This is the first negative review I have even made here on Unilocal, but this was necessary.

I was pretty excited to try this place based on all the positive reviews and the fact that it was relatively close to the hotel I was staying at during the week. I was here for sushi, so this review only addresses the food and service received in the main dining room. Service: Extremely confusing, as the owner/mgr sat me down and took my drink order and dropped off the menu. Then a short time later the waitress came over with a Sprite. Unfortunately, I ordered a Diet Coke. She apologized for the error, as that is what she was told to bring. The wipe off order menu(I hate these!) actually had a roll marked off on the flip side, which I am glad I noticed, as they would have made it. I also asked the owner, if the sushi/sashimi combos came with anything, as they do at most places with at least a salad or miso soup. He gave a strange look and said«no». For what they were charging for a combo, it came out more expensive than ordering single pieces; not sure how that works. Food: The two large rolls I ordered were mediocre at best. The biggest disappointment was one of the«fire rolls». Can’t recall the name, but it has soft shell crab inside. On top of this they dropped about ½ pound of shredded fake crab. Not only was the taste nasty, as it overwhelmed the entire roll, but the hot soft shell crab roll and ice cold fake crab did not mix well together. The entire concoction was just bad. I would send it back, but no one ever came by to check on me. So I moved the fake crab shit over to the side and ate the crab roll itself. Ambiance: It was a relatively slow night, so you could hear the action at the hibachi tables, where folks seemed to be enjoying themselves. The décor is mid-upscale, but for me the food did not deliver. Sorry, but for me only a one time visit, will not be back.

Out of all the sushi/Japanese places in SBC this is by far the best… also the most expensive. If I go I make sure I have the money and make a reservation because they are always packed! You can make a reservation the same day and you get in right away. All the chefs are super talented and their deep fried cali roll is by far the best sushi in town. LOVEIT!

I visited this restaurant in their old location with my family; we were«pleased» with the service until we received portions of our food. We had ordered chicken, steak & shrimp. Everything was ok except for the shrimp which had a terrible taste & nasty odor upon further inspection. Now, this visit could have been salvaged if it was handled properly… but unfortunately, it was not. I told the waitress and asked to speak to management several times, but they never came. We paid & left & promised we would NEVER frequent their business again.

Came here on a suggestion from a friend. I am only reviewing what I ate. I did not have sushi here but heard it’s pretty good. When you walk into the place while pretty, it’s very dark, the only plus is that it has a very large waiting area and a kids corner type of place that can keep the little ones busy while you wait. We arrived at 7 for a 7 o clock reservation and were promptly seated at a table. Our waitress was very quick to come get our order but seemed a bit pissed when we asked her if we could have a few more minutes to look at the menu and wait for our other guests to arrive to make their selections. Once ordered our drinks were refilled without notice so I was happy about that. I got the chicken and shrimp and my husband got the steak and chicken. while my chicken and shrimp were cooked just the way I like it my husband requested well done for his steak and well the chef said«here’s your beef jerky» and well, sadly he wasn’t kidding. that steak was very chewy and honestly not very good but thank goodness we had the chicken. My husband also asked for steamed rice and the cook didn’t even prepare it for him. but I will say we didn’t even notice until right after he left. We asked the other chef that had just got done preparing the other tables food to bring us the missing rice and he did so without hesitation and apologized for the confusion. I will also say that the salads look as if they were the night before and the dressing also because the lettuce was a bit brown and very soggy towards the bottom of he bowl. We also did not get our soup until we asked about it. just seems like rookie mistakes for a restraint that has been around for a while you know? All in all I left NOT hungry but paying $ 60 for OK food is never OK in my book… I liked it but will not suggest it to any of my family or friends when they come to visit.

This place has decent Hibachi, depending on which server(performer) you get. The tuna steak I had last time was absolutely fabulous, but my lobster was flavorless. The next time, the tuna was alright, but my friend’s lobster was great. The sushi here, however, is some of the best I’ve had in the area. They have one called the Kobe roll that I make a point of getting every time, even though it’s about $ 15. It does tend to get a little smoky in here, depending on how many grills are going at once. But it seems to clear out relatively quickly after the performance is over. Ah, also a word on reservations: If they say they take reservations, don’t believe it. We made reservations for 6pm after my college graduation, and were not seated until 7:30. People who walked in with no reservations, were put into the same queue as those of us with reservations. It all depends on the order you enter the door.

After asking around about a good sushi place this place was recomended by a couple of the guys I work with so I decided to check it out. I was a little confused when they first told me about it because it looks like Kobe used to be a few blocks down the street and then moved to this place and the old place is now all boarded up. I thought they went out of business but nope, just down the street a few blocks. Kobe is a pretty large place with lots of parking. It’s seems like it’s more of a Japanese Habachi and Steak joint than a dedicated sushi place but thats ok. The one thing that bothered me a little bit is the Habachi grills put off a little to much smoke for me and for whatever reason they don’t have the best ventilation above them, again not the end of the world. I «tried» to start with some miso soup but my waiter«forgot» and by the time he ever showed back up I had already got my roll so there wasn’t much point to asking about it. I got a shrimp tempura and eel roll, I forget what it’s called but it was pretty good, probably one of the better rolls i’ve had in a while. The menu had plenty of rolls that looked awesome and I will be back to try them for sure. The Hibachi menu looked slightly expensive for my taste but the sushi and rolls weren’t to bad, maybe a buck or so more than normal but worth it. Honestly, I’ve been to sushi joints that have much better service and a cooler atmosphere but this place had sushi rolls on par, or better, than many of those places so i’m giving it 4 stars. If they can manage to «remember» my miso soup next time and figure something out with their ventilators I’d probably give a 5. I’m going to try the other places in town just to see what’s out there but I will definately be back and would recomend trying it. Oh, one more thing. It has a play area for kids inside the restaraunt. Not a big deal for me since I don’t have kids but for those that do this would be a great spot to go out for dinner and be able to drag the kids along.
