Shore Hills Campground & RV Park

This was a great campground and in a nice spot. Paved roads, clean areas and good bathrooms. There was only 1 shower so be early if you dont want to wait.

We have been camping at Shore Hill’s for 12 years for our camping vacation. We keep coming back because it has very nice staff to help you out with anything that you might need. The sites are large and clean as well as the public areas like the restrooms and laundry rooms. It is always quiet and a peaceful just to walk around and relax and just enjoy your vacation. The sites with a water view or on the water are great! All the sites have water & power if you need it. And they even have a shuttle bus if you want to go into town.

This campground is great. The people were so friendly w/​us and went out of their way to do the right thing! Check this out.
We failed to recall driving past Shore Hills on our way into Boothbay Harbor for a visit and made a bad decision (ultimately) to book a place we found in a state campground magazine. We stopped in after heading out of town to ask if they had spaces for the next night and said we’d like to come back and stay but had to go to a place we pre-​paid (online) near Bath, ME.
We got down to this private campground and were really scared by the appearance… really crude and had a creepy feel to it. We figured we had made a bad move when we saw duct tape on the sliding screen door on the front of their house (office on the side of their house) and small flatbed trucks w/​mud all over them and a yard in disarray.
After figuring out how to get a refund and drove back to Boothbay we were rescued by Shore Hills who gave us a spot in the over-​flow area which was nice and grassy and near one of the bathrooms near the front gate. We were really happy w/​our location and the bathrooms were SUPER CLEAN (we are talking military clean) and the shower stall was very sanitary, no mold or mildew and the stall looked like it had been cleaned before I got there. Floor mats nice condition and there was an outlet near the sink area (helpful) and next door was a nice laundry room w/​3 washers and 3 driers and a utility sink. There was a communal washing sink for dishes down at the lower bathhouse. The grounds are well manicured and lush w/​tons of trees and a lake and the whole complex is well maintained by both the property owners and visitors.
The office has a nice store w/​food supplies (rather basic camping stuff), ice, firewood and propane re-​fill station and small tanks/​large tanks for purchase.
I can’t say enough how nice this place is… these folks even gave us a free night. You see we had an emergency on the second day of our visit and had to rush to an ER in Brunswick and they sent us down to Portland for a specialty physician we had to see the following day. We didn’t get our second night at Shore Hills. We ended up returning the day after the physician visit and we said we’d like to stay a night and they told us to pick out a spot that was free and let them know which one we liked. When we found one they said enjoy the night and never asked for payment! WOW… now that is class!!!
WE CAN’T WAIT TO RETURN TO BOOTHBAY HARBOR AND STAY AT SHORE HILLS! they are tops in our book!

Great! After 10 days on the road, this one is our top choice!
