Great vendors, delicious baked goods, and everyone was very friendly. Everything was reasonably priced and we purchased several crafts and food items. Would definitely go back if we lived closer The Railway village is pretty neat too. It is focused on Maine railroads and may not have been very exciting if it wasn’t for the Fall Festival they held that weekend. There was still some fun things to check out like the examples of horse drawn sleighs, over 60 classic cars, goats, and a blacksmith demonstration.

This place is amazing! The steam train takes you on a full circle ride. The little shops are so cute and historical! I learned a lot of history here! They also had a house filled with antique cars!

This place is fantastic! My family stumbled upon this place while staying in the Boothbay area and had a great time! We brought our 5 children(8, 5 and 3 under age 3) and everyone had a blast. The train ride is perfect for little kids and the conductor was very friendly and answered questions for our kids. They love funning around the museum, looking at the old toys, feeding the goats. They even liked the antique car display! If we lived closer this would definitely be a frequent family outing.

This marvelous collection from yesteryear, features: multiple original working narrow gauge trains, an antique auto collection, an arrangement of antique buildings, maintained in period condition. There are many points of interest, including period wardrobe, cooperie, smith shop, livery, engine collection, and an elaborate model train display. Beyond preserving history, the staff make an effort to make every visit pleasant and congenial. Highly recommended for the young, young at heart and those interested in historical artifacts.

This place is so much fun for kids. We recently visited on Family Fun Day and it was exactly as promised, fun for the entire family. My son loved taking a ride on the train(although he wasn’t a fan of the whistle), and we also rode on an antique fire engine. For a 2 year old boy, there is nothing better than trains and cars. There are lots of stationed trains throughout the village that are open to walk in, play in, pretend you are driving, etc. And there’s a great big grassy area with tables that is perfect for a picnic lunch. We spent about 3 hours here looking at the exhibits, running around outside, playing on the playground, feeding the goats, and having a picnic lunch. This was a perfect family outing and we will definitely be back!

This place is a great place to visit with your family, and they have a great set-up. They have a ton of antique cars in a show room and they have a toy train set to watch. The train takes you on 2 loops around the village and they have a ton of buildings to go through with old farming and train stuff. They have a old fire house set-up with classic trucks and equipment. Bring cash to pay for your tickets, but the store takes visa and Mastercard. It’s 10 bucks for adults and can’t remember what it is for kids. They also give military discounts.

Wonderful for children and adults. Check the website for the mid-August ‘Thomas the Tank Engine’ which is great fun but arrive early since it tends to get very busy. Take the ride on the train, stop at the car museum then go to the gift shop. Also be sure to stroll the grounds it is a very restful place and the children can feed the goats. The car museum is extensive, everything from a Model T through 30s Packards and 40s Cadilacs. Do not miss this place!

We missed the last train at 4:00 on a Saturday(the museum closes at 5), but we weren’t charged admission, which was a huge plus. We climbed all over the trains that were outside, walked all around the sprawling grounds, and fed the goats. There’s also a playground area, sandbox, and other kid-friendly stuff to do. Officially, I think the mannequins dressed in period clothes are the creepiest I’ve seen, the makeup was so bad. Otherwise, very informative and good place to explore for train enthusiasts. Thomas the Tank Engine makes stops there for two weekends, I’m guessing every August, which could be something to plan for. There are also antique cars, but the trains for us were the main attraction.
