This is a really great YMCA. Not the best gym, but a really great Y.
The sauna is lovely during the long winter and the therapy pool is fun to just float in, though you need to watch flying toys from the little kidlets.
My two pet peeves about this Y; the equipment is pretty dated and seems to be geared mainly to men and the female lifeguard.
Almost every time I got to swim she barks at me for something. Like, before I have a chance to set my towel down she’s yelling at me to rinse off. She makes my most mellow part of the day really uptight.
Otherwise, quite a lovely establishment especially for Midcoast Maine.

This is THE place for year ’rounders to hang, socialize, play a little ball, run a few laps. The town center, literally, for Boothbay, Boothbay Harbor, East Boothbay, Southport, and south Edgecomb. Try a short membership while there, anytime of the year. Good people, good place, a real town, like a real town is ‘sposed to be.
