I get my haircut here every time I need one. Leah, the owner is very friendly and her staff is attentive. The price is excellent; only $ 14 for a men’s haircut. The spa itself is very welcoming and clean. I’d recommend anyone looking for a mani/pedi to try this place out and for any wedding party, this is a great place to get your hairz did!

I was very anxious about booking a salon for my wedding from Maryland and didn’t know what to expect. Our good friend is a professional makeup artist who agreed to do makeup for my bridal party but my hair stylist from home was unavailable to travel the weekend of our wedding. I went with Oasis Day Spa after receiving a referral from another local salon and I couldn’t be happier. I brought pictures of a style I liked from Pinterest and Erica created the exact look that I had in mind. My hair had never looked better for any event and 2 days later it is still in tact and I am still receiving compliments from strangers on our road trip back to MD. She was so sweet and fun to work with and did exactly what my bridesmaids asked for, too. Both Erica and Laura were able to finish my 8 bridesmaids and me even earlier than we planned and we were all so happy with our hair which isn’t always the case for weddings. They made it so easy for me and I would recommend them to anyone getting married in the Boothbay area. Leah was also wonderful and allowed us to bring food and whatever we needed while we prepped. She also allowed my friend to stay behind and finish up makeup even though all of our hair was finished. They are a talented and fun group!

«Spa» is term that I would not use for this establishment. The atmosphere was completely unprofessional with the women that worked there running around doing each others make-up and gossiping more than talking and engaging their clients. I am getting married in Boothbay harbor. After calling around to the few places in Boothbay Oasis was one of the few that would take a wedding party. I thought I would save some money by going to a salon instead of hiring someone to come to us. I went for my trial for hair and make-up and was extremely disappointed. The girl that did my hair lead me away from the style I had told her I wanted. Then gave me a style that I was semi happy with at first. After leaving the whole thing fell out. Bobby pins were landing on the ground all around me! As for make-up their girl had no idea how to apply the fake eyelashes I wanted to wear on my wedding day. In addition all her make-up was from the local drugstore. Don’t get me wrong I buy products from the drugstore myself but if I am going to a professional salon I expect professional salon quality products, as well as a professionally trained make-up artist. I could see this being acceptable if they had discounted rates but their prices are on par with what I pay at high end salons. Needless to say I will not be going to get my hair and make-up done here on my big day. It is costing me the same amount of money to bring my hairstylist with a make-up artist from Portland, ME. They both work at very nice salons where the quality is far better.

The pros: Oasis is a very clean salon/spa with a calming homey feel. The owner, Leah, and her staff are friendly and attentive. The manicure I recieved there has stayed intact long than any I’ve ever had! The cons: although we didn’t have to wait and were seated immediately, it took exactly 2 hours each for a mani/pedi. Back home a mani/pedi takes about an hour. Also, I’ve never been to other Maine salons so I’m not sure how this compares, but one mani/pedi is $ 60, about $ 20 – 25 more than I pay in CA. If I lived in the area, I’d continue to get my nails done here… but perhaps half as often as I do in Oakland…
