Perfection. A quick trip to the Caribbean. The food is delicious. Tasty. Filling. Wonderful. The people are as warm as Jamaica.

Great food! The portions are very generous as well. The place is cute and affordable. The people who work there are very pleasant and helpful too! This is also the only Jamaican place around the area.

I wanted to write an update on my original review, and Eric’s is still amazing. Everything of theirs, the curry chicken, curry goat, oxtail, jerk chicken, you name it, is great. I have convinced a lot of people in my office to try it and everyone raves about it. Honestly, I have to stop myself from getting it for lunch multiple times a week.

This is my second time coming here! I have a friend who is Jamaican and when I can’t get home food from the house we end up going here, it’s the closest thing to his grandma’s cooking! I didn’t realize how close is was to me too! Parking can be tricky since it’s right on the main drag! When you walk in, its only one room for guests with maybe 6 – 7 tables. They have a counter you go up to with one page of food and drinks. It’s optional on whether you want to eat in or out, this time we chose to do takeout. I chose a curry chicken which comes with some plantains, cabbage/veggies and rice and peas(red kidney beans). My friend ordered jersey chicken and oxtail with rice and peas and plantain. I took about 10 – 15 minutes for our food. While we waited we went over to the fridge to pick out drinks. They have a variety of drinks from Jamaican Kola to carrot/ginger juice which is popular among the natives. The have homemade sodas as well and a small variety of tonics, juices and some traditional soda. I urge you to try something out of the box because it’s all good :) after paying we left and went to our location to eat and for $ 30 dollars you get A LOT of food. The spices were just as I remembered, the curry not too runny or thick. The rice and peas tender and lightly season although the curry drips right into it making it a wonderful blend together! The plantains were wonderfully sweet and the veggies were crispy and lightly seasoned. I do advise if its your first time, whether you order the chicken or oxtail, they do leave the bones in so don’t go full in chomping expecting to have boneless chicken, you won’t but it doesn’t take away from the experience! Just dig right in! I’ve also had the ackee and codfish which is so satisfying and familiar(which is only offered Saturday morning! If you can get there for the breakfast they offer do try to go. It’s not your typical breakfast :) The overall experience is great and the people are lovely. I love coming here for comfort food. Can’t go wrong :) Jamaica knows how to make food with soul and love. I will always come back :)

Awesome! Had the Oxtail and curry chicken. The cabbage that they serve with it is incredible. I could eat an entire bowl of that alone. Definitely going back!

Great service — the staff are friendly and efficient. Their chicken patty was awesome — perfect flavoring with a little kick of spice. Their oxtail and beef patties were really good, too. Would definitely return and try different things!

Will have to come back for a full meal, but had the chicken and beef patty and it tasted as good as I hoped. Nice atmosphere inside, will return in the future.

Delicious option for Jamaican food. Staff was friendly, food tasted homemade. We ordered the oxtail and jerk chicken, dinner portions. Both were very flavorful and tender. Came with rice and beans, steamed cabbage, and fried plaintains. Plaintains were a little on the dry side. But overall, great food for a reasonable price given that there’s not many Jamaican cuisine options in the area!

I went there excited to have a good Jamaican dish. Unfortunately it was just okay and too pricey for the meal you get. I won’t be returning. Rather disappointing. Both service and food was just average.

This is one of my favorite Caribbean restaurants to eat at. The food is seasoned well, the service is fantastic and the portions are very reasonable for the price. Every bite is packed with flavor. Not only do they sell«cook food» but they also sell some of your well known Jamaican goodies. If you are looking for authentic Jamaican cuisine then you must try Eric’s.

Went there tonite with the family. Wonderful homestyle cooking. Had the oxtail stew and jerk chicken. Both were great. Prices were reasonable. Friendly staff and the place looked very clean and bright.

We ate here for dinner and had jerk chicken and goat curry. It was pretty good, but not quite up to the level of my favorite Jamaican places in NY and Toronto Canada I would recommend putting more sauce on the dishes and making the flavours a little more intense. That being said I know that there are not many Caribbean restaurants in this area. I have to say the service was great and very personal. The aunties working there are so sweet. Also the portions are indeed massive; 3 of us shared two large dinners and we still had leftovers. Definitely recommended!

Amazing jerk chicken and ox tail. The meat was tender and slid right off the bones. There hasn’t been solid Jamaican food in Boonton in a while, and this place will satisfy your cravings for sure. Friendly staff, great service. As an aside, I love restaurants who use iPads to complete their transactions. My rating is purely based on food and service though!

I stopped at this place with my family on a road trip, and found that they have top notch Jamaican food. Their Jerk Pork and Curry Goat are fantastic, as is their private labeled Ginger Beer! The staff is friendly as well.

Great food, I had the Jerk Chicken with rice and peas, cabbage, and plantains. I haven’t had food that fulfilling in a long time! The portions were huge; it gave me lunch and dinner. 10⁄10 will definitely be going back!

Oh Eric’s Jamaican, you make me all warm and fuzzy inside. I had the chicken curry and it was oh so good. You can choose between two sizes for the meals. I got the smaller one and it was a good amount of food. I also tried the pastry, empanada-looking thing. I don’t remember what they are called, but I remember how they tasted! So happy this place exists!

Another great place for Jamaican food. Loved their lamb curry. The chicken puffs(pasty) were just great. The hosts are really nice and friendly.

Owners are friendly and welcoming and helpful when reviewing the menu. We had the jerk chicken and were not used to all the bones in the meal but that’s how jerk chicken is. The meal itself was flavorful and enjoyable with large portions. Restaurant is tidy and clean and the soda selection was different and fun.

As soon as you walk in the door the scent of deliciousness tickles your nose. I’m so happy!!! Food is great, so is the service. Prices can be a little better, but when you’re the only Caribbean restaurant in 15 – 20 miles you can make the prices work for your business. Jerk pork was tasty, but there should have been a couple smaller pieces along with the big pieces. Rice and peas could of had a little more flavor, but all in all… great little spot!!!

Jah Rastafari! A true Jamaican gem. The jerk chicken doesn’t look like much when you first see the dish because the colors of Jamaican cuisine are pretty dull. But don’t be fooled .that chicken packs a serious punch. A wide spectrum of flavor that leaves some lingering heat, the chicken is perfectly cooked. The white meat was juicy and the dark meat pieces are just ridiculous. Complemented with rice and beans and cabbage and an extra side of the spicy jerk sauce. I was full for hours for $ 8.50. Eric’s is like the neighborhood grills you see on the islands. No crazy decorations or gimmicks-just some good food and a place to sit and eat while listening to reggae.
