So we’re pretty lucky because Dan’s is literally a 10 minute walk from our house… One of the draws of Dan’s is that they have a GREAT variety of beers on tap and bottled, so there is no reason to not stop by and try a new flavor or brand on their ever changing and HUGE beer menu… and their prices are pretty reasonable, too. They have a full, beautiful bar and a nice selection of cocktails to choose from if beer is not your thing. Dan’s recently re-vamped their menu and provide many new delicious offerings! On our last visit we had their Ale Asparagus and Onion Rings… both IPA Beer battered and served with tasty Aioli dipping sauce. I also had the evening special, a grilled chicken kebab and veggies over risotto and my husband had the pan seared salmon. Their wings are wonderful and you can’t go wrong with their burgers… juicy, high quality beef. Ain’t nothing wrong with that!!! I also enjoy their Calamari Greek Salad made with crispy fried calamari and their Black Bean Veggie Burger… YUM!!! And definitely, definitely get the sweet potato fries. Just do it. Don’t ask questions…

Good food, service was very good. Good choice if you’re looking for local meal. Despite out waitresses recommendation, I cannot endorse the watermelon wheat beer, my wife tried it and it was beyond terrible.

I am very disappointed in Dan’s. My husband, myself and some of our friends always come there on Fridays or Saturday to have dinner, drinks… The last time I was there, very recent, I brought a friend to come and check out the place. We sat at the bar, the bartenders was not warm or inviting. One said, «What do you want?» REALLY??? It took us 5 minutes to flag down another bartender to put in our drink and food orders. Then they never came back until we had to flag them down again for our checks. WOW!!! Talk about a really bad service!

Nice little spot in Boonsboro. Brought the wife and kids on a Friday night; wanted something new and not in our town — Dan’s was great. Great menu with a wide variety. Sandwiches, steaks, burgers… great choices. Kids menu even had a good variety. Good beer list and even had a Friday night beer special; hard to find in most restaurants. I had the Rise and Shine burger; it is, without question, one of the top burgers I’ve ever had. It’s basically breakfast shoved in to a burger, but in a good way. Make reservations if you are headed that way; it’s a small joint, so the waits can get lengthy quickly. It’s a little gem in a gem of a small town. Enjoy and cheers!

I ordered the salmon and blue cheese dressing salad. The dressing had zero liquid. Therefore, I used the sliced peppers as my source of moisture once i finished the small piece of salmon. My husbands fish and chips were good but nothing we have to go back for. Server was fine. It was the middle of the day during the week so I am sure we will give it another try during busier times.

We stopped in here for lunch after a tour of the Antietam battlefield. The town itself has some fame because romance author Nora Roberts has been investing. We got a booth and ordered. I had a pretty fun burger — The Rise and Shine. It had a fried egg on a beef and sausage burger with cheese and maybe something else. Plus I got maple syrup on the side. It came with tater tots and this place has lots of tater tots. I thought they would be really good ones. Nope, just your average ones my Mom would pour onto a cookie sheet from a frozen bag. Not really seeing the big deal. If you’re in town, it’s a good enough place to eat but not a destination.

5 stars if it wasn’t for the sometimes flakey service. This is a proper«craft beer» bar. Its not quite a gastro-pub but bordering on it. There is a heavily rotated 20 taps or so. It’s IPA heavy beer menu. The food is solid. I’ve never had a bad meal. I feel they could survive as a straight Restaurant without the craft beer thing. Last visit we had the Gluten Free Quesadilla, Wings and a Salad. All were spot on. The wings are always properly cooked and crisp. There are plenty off full meal options. The service doesn’t always keep up. Not say it’s bad but we have had our issues. On Friday and Saturday they are usually very busy and you will prolly have to wait for a table. They serve food in the bar as well. You can park on the street or around the back of the bar. I would just park on the street. The lot around back can be confusing. Make day of it and hit Sharpsburg Shepherdstown and Boonsboro. All are within 20 mins.

Jan. 10, 2016 We stopped in on our way back from Frederick as it was too early for dinner there. The beer selection is phenomenal. We had 3 excellent stouts. The taps are always kicking but the replacement is usually even better. The waitress was so friendly and fantastic with suggestions. My boyfriend actually ordered a special that she has made for herself, and it was delicious. We had lighter fare, not the dinner menu, but it was wonderful. The only negative would be the portion size of their appetizers, but the calamari was still the best that we’ve ever had. We are headed back next weekend, and I’ve also heard nothing but raves from others in the tri-state area about this«jewel». Hard to find ones like this these days!

We are going to start with the negative and end on the positive here. I am very much into fried calamari and normally order it wherever I go this is not a place I will be getting it from ever again. The calamari was not my favorite at all it was not fried enough so the texture was horrible. The positives: The staff was amazing and super responsive to the table, the beer was awesome, a friend and I asked our server to just pick beer and bring it to us for our flights and he made amazing choices that fit both of our preferences to a tee. I found my new favorite Black IPA. I will be back to try more beer I love places that do flights of beer so you can try anything they have instead of just picking one beer.

Just stopped in for a beer and a quick bite to eat. The food was awesome and of course the beer was outstanding. I am originally from this area and I have not been home in awhile, but I can’t remember being able to go anywhere around the Hagerstown area to find a place which has this wide variety of craft beer! We ordered the wings(hot), ham and cheese panini and the B.L.T. They were all outstanding. I will make it a point to stop here every time I come back home!

Great place. Clean restaurant, great service, yummy food. We started with Tater Tots as an appetizers. They were pretty much your standard tots, but served with sour cream, cheese, and jalapeños. I ordered the cinnamon steak sandwich. It was cooked and seasoned well, on crispy bread with a «secret sauce». Cinnamon goes surprisingly well with steak!

Came here today with a party of 8. Seating was quick and staff was friendly. Server was good, but not great. No smile or real want to help you enjoy your experience. Food was subpar at best. The apps ranged from the Tots to the dips. Again, nothing out of the ordinary that stood out. Burgers were all well done even is asked that they be medium. Same goes for tuna steak. Onion rings were easily frozen out of a large paper bag. Panini’s were all good. Large range of beers on tap, especially IPA’s. The chalkboard wasn’t up to date or correct, according to our server at least. Would I go back, perhaps. Will I tell family and friends to go out of their way, no.

Five star Tap House burger. Great beer selection. Excellent crab cakes. Really good buffalo chicken dip that wasn’t swimming in grease. We are fans!

This review is overdue. Went here when we were home at Christmas(I honestly thought I’d already left this review). Food was meh. The fries were the only part I liked. So the staff was nice. But the waiter didn’t write anything down! I hate that. Why?! Just why?! Almost every time we have a server not write anything down something is wrong. My Dad got onion rings and he didn’t want them, that was my husband, who got onion rings. The onion rings were ridiculously huge and quite soggy. The hubs and my Dad(who both like onion rings) didn’t eat much of them. The big«beef» was my burger. It was not cooked in the middle. Like wouldn’t have even counted for«rare». The worst part was our waiter didn’t come back around for a super duper long time. So I just ended up nibbling the edges, and eating my fries. My son had a burger and it was over cooked. I had said«medium» when I ordered both of them. Seems like most of the problems were with the food. The staff was nice, waiter could have been more attentive. It was clean and seemed like a cool building. Just the food wasn’t tasty or was not edible.

Very good place. Bar is extensive with lots of options. Food is good – we had burgers and they were excellent. Service was also great too – ask for Rick to be your server, he’s animated! Best place in town, worth a stop no doubt.

Love the craft beer and I’m not a beer drinker. I came here since it was recommended and was really wowed by their selection, service/expertise and overall experience. Their hummus was damn good too.

I’m going to go 4 stars because of the beer selection and service. Even though my beer snob husband had tried most of the beers before, he still thought it was a really good and varied selection. So, that’s high praise from him. Sadly, I’ve got to preface this whole review with the comment that I’d done a little too much day drinking before(winery visit+wine and cheese at the inn+not enough food to eat earlier) and was not feeling great. I ate like two bites and we went back to our room and crashed. Appetizer-Tots. They were okay. I was expecting more melty cheese but it was still good. Not greasy by any means and a nice sized serving. Easily would have fed 4 people. Dinner-Hubby got the chili cinnamon panini and I got the ham and cheese panini. I’ll say that I didn’t get to try mine until about 10pm and it was cold. And it was delicious. So, so good. Even cold. The hubby didn’t think his was as good. He thought it would be spicier and it wasn’t. He tried mine hot and said he wished he’d gotten that. Service was quick and friendly. Hopefully, we’ll be able to go back soon and actually enjoy the meal.

I liked this place. Nice atmosphere, and a good Bloody Mary. Ordered a Cobb salad and it was very fresh. Wife ordered hummus and it was good and the veggies it came with were nice and fresh. Calamari was good and had goat cheese(I think) crumbles on it which was interesting. Marinara wasn’t great but all in all, nice place and I’d recommend it. Bar area look pretty cool and lots on tap.

When we arrived at the Inn Boonsboro on a Friday night, we were pretty hungry. From my research, I found that there weren’t many places to eat in this small town, but there was a placed called Dan’s Restaurant and Tap House next door so we went there for dinner. The guests staying at the inn told us we’d need reservations, but we figured they were exaggerating — I mean how many people were really eating out in Boonsboro? Well, apparently a lot. I guess even when you are in a small town, if there is only one place to eat, it can get packed pretty easily. And packed it was. There was a twenty minute wait we arrived and the place was bustling. We went to the bar and grabbed a couple Manhattans as we waited. It was your typical pub-style restaurant with huge wooden bar, television, and lots of commotion. We were happy when we were finally seated in one of the large wooden booths. There wasn’t much that I could choose from on the menu, but when there is only one restaurant in town, you become thankful that you can eat at all. We started with the hummus plate complete with crunchy veggies and pita bread. The roasted red pepper hummus wasn’t very good as far as hummuses and the pita bread was meh as well. There was a Garden Penne dish marked as vegan on the menu so Chris and I ordered that. It was made with gluten-free penne in a light chablis sauce with squash, zucchini, asparagus, and red pepper. It was a fine dish — I was just thankful to find something with lots of veggies in it. So while I wouldn’t go out of my way to go to Dan’s, it was a great option in a city with no others. The prices were average with the pasta only being $ 12 and the food was fine. The service, on the other hand, was slow and not that great, but it is a pub-style restaurant in the middle of nowhere. It was just nice to see that a dish was labeled vegan on the menu — this is something you don’t see very often in the country.
