This station is competitive and their gas prices are as low as other stations in the area. While gas can be purchased at the same price elsewhere, to my knowledge this is the only gas station in Boone that provides free air for tire inflation.
While «free air» was once a common place service, this has become extremely rare. Proper tire wear and increased gas mileage, both huge cost concerns, depend on the tires being properly inflated. This is a relatively low cost and simple service to provide customers; however, stations intentionally exploit customers by charging for this service.
This is obviously a personal «pet peeve,» but I assume I’m not the only consumer to feel this way. Appalachian Exxon is the only station I use simply because they provide this service free of charge. Little things do matter and reflect on the overall quality of any business.
