Honestly… when we pulled up, I figured this place would be hokey and out of date. Yes, you will see enough«hokey» and«out of date» here — but few museums are free of either trait. I was racking my brain for what I could do to entertain my parents when they visited from out of town — make that my loving, conservative, frugal, non-drinking parents. The Ag Museum was the perfect thing for my family — my parents both grew up in farming families, and my dad still farms as a hobby. The most impressive part of the museum was the building with all of the old farm equipment inside. Machinery spanned over a century, perhaps more. I also enjoyed the blacksmith shop, though it was a very hot afternoon when we went and I was ready to get back to the a/c. This place is great for a farmer or for a curious kiddo. It would be good to go with someone who is mechanically or farming-inclined, though it’s not mandatory. My dad knew what a lot of the machinery did and understood a lot of the processes without having to stop and read many of the signs and it was cool to hear him share his insight. It’s not open all year, just late spring through fall, so check before you go. While they had ramps, there was quite a bit of gravel, so I’m not sure how wheelchair friendly it is. Also, there is quite a bit of walking, so wear comfortable shoes and check the forecast.
