Benham Street Grill

Two servers watched us walk in we sat our self the restaurant only had one other table in it. The servers stood and talked for 10 minutes before one came to our table. The app took forever to get and once our food was delevered we were never checked on had to go to the counter to get bill .
The food was okay but not as good as everyone acts like and service was horrible !

This is a great, locally owned restaurant for lunch on weekdays. Burgers are great. Portions are enormous. Prices are right. Contrary to another reviewer, I’ve never had a wait but I’m sure it gets busy given the popularity.

Been there 3 times. Once, had really good food but had a longer than normal wait. Other 2 times, we were told it would be over an hour wait for food. Both times on weekdays and there were open tables when we got there.

My family and I come here often to eat. The food is great and the servers are nice. But the service is lacking
The last time I was here, it took an hour to make a burger, pizza, and a couple other items that takes probably 15 minutes max to make. Some of the waitresses don’t know the menu. We are forgotten about while we are in. And when we are ready to leave, we have to wave down a waitress to get our ticket. Then she leaves again and we wait so long that we have to walk up to the bar to pay for the meal.
I think they should split the waitresses into sections instead of them running around all confused on which table is theirs.
I give them 3 stars for food and cleanliness.
The service and cook time need improvement.

The cheeseburger is HUGE and OMG… so good! Juicy, flavorful and cooked perfectly. Loved the hand cut fries and homemade chips.
All the prices are very reasonable. They offer a large variety of sides and dinners; more than just bar food.
Tried a bite of my son’s pizza and for thin crust it was very good. Super cheesy!
They are only open Mon-​Fri though.

Best burgers in the county, and hard to find one better in nearby St. Louis area. They come with made to order/​fresh fried potato chips, which are pretty darn good also. Haven’t tried anything else (besides adding fries) during several visits. Can’t go and pass on the burger; it’s near perfect, big, and cheap (around 4 bucks).
Would have liked to give 4 stars, if not for a couple problems. I know a few folks (including myself) who’ve shown up during regular advertised hours/​days to find the parking lot empty and doors locked, so call ahead or have a backup place in mind. Also, the bar area is pretty close to most of the seating, and we won’t take children again without earmuffs.
