I’ve always known that I’ve had a «slight» hearing loss. I can’t hear low tones. However, the older I’ve gotten the worse it has become. Working for a major airline where I’m around jet planes anywhere from 8 – 16 hours a day doesn’t help. Especially, since I’ve worked there for around 18 years. So, yeah you can say my hearing is bad. So what set my sights on Bonita Hearing? My lady. Plain and simple. She once asked me something and I mumbled a response. The wrong one. Yeah. Not good. So she insisted on getting me hearing checked. Mind you the last time I had my hearing tested was 18 years ago when I got my job and haven’t tested it since. So, I searched for a place near our house and Bonita Hearing came up on the grid. Checked to see if it was in my insurance network. It was. I made an appointment with Dr Johnson. He tested my hearing and explained to me what severity my hearing loss was at. Turns out I needed hearing aids to amplify low tones in my environment. Now the hearing aids of today differ greatly from people of my mom and dads or even my grandparents generation. I was hesitant to even consider hearing aids. But after doing some research beforehand I settled on some that are really discreet and totally high tech. They fit behind my ear with a little tube that extends into my ear canal. You can barely see them. The cool thing about them? They’re Bluetooth capable. Yes ladies and gentlemen. Bluetooth. I can listen to music off my iPhone or listen to calls. Awesome. Had a problem with one of the receivers in my aids and called Dr. Johnson. Set an appointment where he changed out the receiver and ordered me another one. Lent me a different receiver because my old one is customized to me. Again awesome. As for Dr. Johnson? Totally awesome doc. Caring and extremely knowledgeable about his profession. Hopefully, you never need hearing aids and are blessed with perfect hearing. If not, you need help. Call Dr. Johnson at Bonita Hearing.
