Delicious!!! Our group ordered everything from the chicken burrito, to the chimichanga to the soft tortillas that were carne asada and literally EVERYTHING was so tasty!!! Here on vacation &I we will be back!

There were 6 people in our group and we chose this restaurant based on Unilocal reviews. 1 person out of the 6, who frequents Mexico, took a bite of his steak burrito and declared it was inedible. Other than the place being slightly dingy and the food taking a while longer than we expected to arrive, it was decent. The nachos and cheese even reminded me of the roller rinks circa 1980’s.

Ordinary. Pork corn taco ok but meat pretty tasteless. Meat in flautas tough and stringy. Bottled hot sauce and salsa. Packaged guacamole. Disappointing.

Definitely nothing fancy. I’ve only tried the California chicken burrito so far. It was large enough for 2 meals. The chicken was clean and the flavor was awesome. Will definitely be back to try some other items. I wouldn’t necessarily eat a sit down dinner here if you’re looking for a night out. More of a lunch place, quick bite after the beach or maybe take out for dinner.

We have been coming down to ft. Myers a few times a year for the past 15 and ever since taco mix has opened we go everyday for lunch while here. This is you’re typical hole in the wall restaurant with a great staff and menu. Our favorite is the California burrito but the tacos are great too. However If you are expecting fine dining this is not the place for you.

I used to live right next to Taco Mix. I went there twice a day for over six months. Bangin! Love it!

We tried this place for the first time this evening. This review is only based on the drive-through experience. We ordered six crunchy beef tex-mex tacos, a chicken quesadilla, and three Barbacoa tacos. The Barbacoa was made of lamb which is not indicated on the menu. I investigated further, only to find out that lamb is a traditional Barbacoa dish, as Barbacoa is not the type of meat used, but rather the manner in which it is prepared. I enjoy a lamb but did not enjoy this particular item. The crunchy beef tacos, in Tex-Mex fashion, were OK, but I was not impressed at all. I also ordered a chicken quesadilla which was tasty but I enjoy mine much better. The chicken was overcooked and, somewhat crunchy, but still pleasant enough to continue eating. The accompaniments included a tiny amount each of sour cream, Pico de gallo, and a slight hint of watery guacamole. The most enjoyable part was the side order of refried beans and Spanish rice. I inquired about the watermelon drink and the server did not seem to understand what I meant. She was, however, very pleasant. I spent $ 25, which was much more then I spend for the same items at my preferred taco place in Fort Meyers. Of course I was not expecting the same, as I know every restaurant has their own recipes and I expect and respect that. I’m not saying I will never try this place again, however if I do I will definitely try different menu items. I do want to add that everything seemed fresh and authentic, just with a different flavor profile. I encourage you to try for yourself and hopefully you will enjoy it more than we did.

This is our vacation staple. We stay on Ft. Myer’s Beach. Every year we stop at taco mix on our way in then go at least twice while here for the week. We then end our vacation with breakfast burritos on our way home. Amazing, fresh food. Fantastic sauce & really reasonable prices.

As good as it gets for me when it comes to real tacos! I have never eaten anything besides the tacos and cheese dip because it is so good I can’t fathom the thought of skipping the tacos if I go here. The location is obscure if you are just driving by. Definitely not a place that catches your eye and makes you say«wow that place looks like one I want to try.» But if you decide to give it a chance I think you will be happy with the decision. I work less than 5 minutes away, so once I discovered this gem I can’t stop recommending it when I hear someone say that they are in the mood for Mexican food. For Bonita Beach visitors it is very convenient– I think probably a mile away from the beach. The tacos are super cheap, soft drinks are a bit pricey– but I am usually getting it to go so I skip the drink anyways. The soft tacos are my favorite. I always get two beef, one chicken. Tip– if you want the want cheese dip then you will be disappointed. It is a cheesey rotel style cheese dip. Simple menu, small restaurant but delicious fresh food!

Taco salad-bland not much flavor 2 beef enchalada special– decent not much flavor Chicken fajita — would recommend best out of the tried dishes Read about this place on Unilocal and trip advisor, so we decided to give it a try. There are no fountain drinks only cans and bottles(which are highly priced). Would only recommend the chicken fajita. The hot sauce is REALLYHOT, good but HOT.

I’m a big fan of taco mix. It’s an excellent taco shop. I usually just get tacos. But I’ve had much of the menu and it’s all great. Tacos are cheap. They even have a drive thru. The family that runs the Mix are great ppl. It’s close to the beach too!

A mile from the beach. Great place in Bonita. Tacos and tamales are great. They bring the food out to you. Never had a bad experience.

Well my hunt for a decent burrito place in the area goes on. And this is not the place. It has all the looks of a hidden gem. Small place with ten tables, it could have been a contender. Then the food came. The California burrito comes with a teaspoon of guac, sour cream, and salsa on the side. That’s it, barely a teaspoon. They give you one small plastic container of hot sauce. I asked for mine with no beans, just rice. What I got was mostly rice, and very little steak in my steak burrito. Plus the rice was dried out. So the hunt goes on. Give this place a pass

Excellent cheap eats! Stopped in on the way home from the beach for some tacos and beers, and we took home a burrito for laters. Everything was solid, we will absolutely be back.

You would never notice this little gem unless you are an adventurous eater go with the authentic Mexican kitchen tacos the menu is to left when you walk in the door opens at 7:30AM who couldn’t use a cerveza and some tacos at 7:30 am, have not had the cubano sandwich but from the reviews and the different write ups in the magazine and newspaper articles seems worth the trip too. Hot sauce is definitely hot sauce but very flavorful.

Great local spot! The food is fresh, simple, and fast. It will become a favorite of yours. The whole menu is cost effective too. I go with the chicken salad, extra chicken. Plus hot sauce. 5 out of 5 here!!!

Truthfully… It was eh. I was so excited to go to the local taco spot in Florida. Nothin special. I’m a New Yorker that loves Mexican and Cuban food) especially being Hispanic) however the tacos and Cuban sandwich were sub par. I was definitely starving so I housed the tacos obv but really… Sitting at the table in there watching flies prey on the spilled soda on another table was just not enthralling to me. I tried to listen to the locals by «not letting the atmosphere deter me» and I wish I just walked out. Like I said it wasn’t great but it wasn’t terrible, they were just okay. I see the potential in the place and the authenticity of the food, however, it needs to be cleaned up

If you enjoy authentic Cuban style food, you must stop here. This is one of those places that you would drive by without a second look but I’ve learned through experience that some of the best food comes from little hole in the wall places. Taco mix is one of these places! Atmosphere: It is a small restaurant with a fast food type environment. You order at the counter, have a seat at one of the tables and then a server brings you your order. I’ve had tacos all over the country and these would rate at the top. Do not expect a standard Taco Bell type taco with ground beef lettuce cheese and tomatoes; they use a variety of specially seasoned meats mixed in with fresh fruits, vegetables and sauces. It was absolutely delicious and I have been craving them since. The woman who took our order and served our food was very pleasant. Final review: If you want the best tacos this place is for you
