Food just so so and high priced. Server was not the least bit accommodating and said it is Restaurant policy not to accommodate the customer. Basically it’s their way or the highway. Too many other more pleasant Dinning experiences around. There were eight in our party and none of us felt tempted to go back. A disappointment for a place we had enjoyed a few years ago. I don’t think an expensive place should act as if they are doing you a favor and then provide average food and below average service.

Even after talking to the Manager, the waiter and giving the chef my wife’s food allergy card they still served her Walnuts that my wife ate and is extremely allergic to. Thanks Chops for a horrific evening. This was your last chance with me, never ever again!!! Good Luck People. Chops, In respond to your comment that you were surprised my wife ate the walnuts as they were a garnish is totally false. We were handed a salad that was supposed to be walnut free, the walnut was in the salad.

We went to dinner here last night & I was absolutely dying for a good cut of meat. The restaurant is beautiful & you feel like your in an NYC steak house — although the vibe felt unwelcoming. As we entered were were met by a large party blocking the door and a waiter who was discussing his need for the proper tip copy — it was tacky. I stepped out of the way of staff member on the way to the table no smile, no good evening. Matt was our waiter and I wasn’t impressed — I don’t usually get pissed off in front of friends, but I couldn’t believe the restaurant wouldn’t substitute on vegetable for another — oh that would be another $ 8… what a total rip off. We split the heirloom tomato salad(I’ve had better & for less). I had the sirloin steak that was two small cuts of meat(not done to temperature– I asked for medium and it was done rare in the center). I could sort of hear the line cook make a comment as it was sent back. Matt never came back to check and ask how it was cooked. For $ 29 dollars I expect more than a sandwich size sirloin, cold mashed potatoes &3 fried pieces of asparagus. I’ve enjoyed the best steak houses in NYC and Chicago — this isn’t even close. I don’t paying & have taken clients out and have spent $ 500+ on a soup to nuts meal, but it better be good. This was not in any way.

The response from this Customer Service representative is genius, in that it serves to validate everything that I said in my initial review. A couple of responses to this customer service rep — 1) You are not in Estero, you are in Bonita Springs. You apparently don’t even know your own area of business but yet you call others confused? The address is in Bonita Springs, check your zip code and your own website. You even contradict yourself in your own email. I hope you aren’t making more than $ 8 an hour. But yes, you got me, I was at the Bonita Springs location as opposed to the 5th avenue location. Its not 25 miles from Naples however, you need to check your GPS coordinates 2) Your community is «old», its demographics plain and simple. The median age in your community is 61 years old. The median age in the U.S. 37.6 years. That qualifies you as an «older» community. That’s just a fact. You call facts a «slap in the face»? There is a word for that type of reaction, its ignorance. Thanks again for validating much of what I put in my original review through your attitude 3) I have had fresh burrata probably 100 times, lost count. I’ve even attempted making it. Even though mine was just, admittedly, an «attempt», it was still better than the soggy greasy mess that you placed on our plate. You need to have somebody else make your burrata, you are really bad at it 4) The $ 1 per ounce Olive Oil… money doesn’t buy taste. I think that was one of the fundamental arguments of my review in the first place. You are paying far too much for your mediocre olive oil 5) You can’t handle the competition. We were in your restaurant on a Saturday night from 7 to 8:45PM, it was about 50% empty. The competition is, rightfully so, killing you 6) You don’t charge $ 10 for a baked potato, I believe it was $ 8 on the menu. What you charge isn’t what matters, it’s the concept of «value», which you clearly fail to understand. Our food was generally horrible and it was at a very similar price point to your competition, competition that again is far superior 7) What qualifies you as «Southwest Florida’s favorite»? This is like a truck stop café hawking their«famous» chili, please provide some specifics on how you quantify your«favorite» status Again, thanks for the ignorant response that was devoid of facts or tact, I think that your response complements my original review very well. That fact is, Unilocal is a mechanism for consumers to state their opinions, that is exactly what I did, to a pretty significant level of specificity in fact. You seem to be offended by the fact that people are stating actual opinions, this is a democracy and a free market after all and, to that end, of course I am going to take my business elsewhere. That was the point of the review in the first place. Thanks again for the response, it was terrific. I hope people read that.

I’m not a fan of steak so I ordered seafood– the flounder stuffed with crab. Easily the best meal I’ve had in a very long time! It even came with crab legs on top — cracked already! The rest of my family ordered steaks. My sister did request well done and even though there was still some pink she ate it because it was THATGOOD. our server was Alli– so cheerful and funny! She made our dining experience one to remember! Before we sat for dinner we grabbed a drink at the bar. Tim was the bartender and he literally knows everything about drinks and alcohol– my mom and I had French martinis made by Tim — highly recommend it :) so delicious. Also– the crab mac and cheese is to die for! Only downside is that the menu doesn’t specify that your meal comes with a veggie and potatoes so I ordered a side of broccoli which went to waste. It’s also expensive so don’t come here if you’re looking for a cheap meal. Overall– well be back next time we’re in town :)

We went here for the first time as a special birthday dinner. Our server was great, we never went without anything. I had the chicken, which was amazing. The potatoes were good, mac&cheese was good, bread was good! It was all good. My boyfriend, aka birthday boy, had a steak that was cooked just how he liked it. We had the Hawaiian martini and it was perfect. Normally these are too sweet, this one was just right. I put in the memo when making my reservation on opentable that it was his birthday. We didn’t really want a big fuss made so we kept quiet and just enjoyed our dinner. Our server brought out one of the best desserts we’ve ever had without singing and all the hubbub. It was perfect! Chocolate brownie, peanut butter ice cream and some spun sugar somethingrather. We were amazingly full but we still ate the whole thing. They really did a great job and we’ll definitely be back!

We have been living in Estero, in season, for 15 years. We have been to every steak house from here to Naples. Chops is our favorite. We have not had a better steak anywhere. Perfectly cooked to your request. Always sooo good.
