What a find. Traveling from Wheeling, WV to North Canton, OH on a business trip with a coworker and a busy Wheeling joint forces us on our way. I assumed that there was [ ] between the two locations and then I stumble upon Sublime Smoke via Unilocal.I figure, heck, it’s BBQ and it’s probably quick. We have about 20 minutes to get in and out. Well, we ended up staying a total of 35 minutes and were late for our next appointment because wow this place is good. Nothing not to like here. It’s quaint, the food truck is outside, there’s a big patio, and we were told they are expanding the inside. The small sandwiches are definitely as the name describes but for a quick lunch, I don’t think I’ve had better BBQ. The brisket sandwich had more flavor than any standard stuff I’ve had and a pronounces solid smoke ring. Nice selection of sauces and the fries were 10 out of 10. Only regret is we didn’t get to sample the cooler of craft beer.

Best brisket I have had in Ohio. Off the charts! Very cool little spot in Bolivar. Owner was very friendly. Drove 2 hrs from CBUS at the recommendation of a co worker. Will definitely hit this place up every time I am in the area. The loaded baked beans were solid as well.

Very good food. Pulled pork to Texas(beef) brisket. Burritos come in chicken, beef, and pulled pork. Lots of great sides from collard greens, Mac n Cheese, corn-spoonbread, cole slaw, etc. Loved the selection of 6 craft beers and a lot of choices of bottle beer. The inside is small, with limited seating. They have a picnic table seating 10 and three tables of 2 or 3 depending on how you move seats around. But, there is a lot of outdoor seating. This is definitely a great place to stop in off the interstate(I-77 Bolivar exit) or if you’re a local definitely come here for takeout or a great sit down lunch or dinner. Another thing I pay attention to, they have very clean bathrooms.

Finding good BBQ up here in the north is hard, hard work. But, to find delicious BBQ at a decent price with craft beer — that’s darn near impossible in Ohio! Just a few minutes south of Canton, in a little town called Bolivar, sits Sublime Smoke, the best BBQ that I have yet to find in Ohio. Great pulled pork, chicken, ribs, and brisket. Homemade sauces are wonderful. My personal favorite is the pepper trio. The best of the best is the Mac Daddy — homemade Mac and cheese topped with pulled pork and your choice of sauce for only $ 8. Great craft draft options andbottlez as well. Grab the peanut butter pie and send yourself into a full-on food coma! So good! Make the drive!

Sublime smoke is in my top 5BBQ joints of all time! Loved the baked macaroni and cheese, great flavor and texture. The hand cut fries were amazing, and the pulled pork had the best flavor. I’ll definitely come back and send others!

Mmmmm very tasty, a gem off the freeway they have many options for what bbq sauce to order. They are also beer geeks, with many different options for small brew companies. While we ate we could overhear their convocation with another patron and they really knew their local beer scene. Worth a stop.

We have eaten bbq in Texas, Tennessee and N Carolina(just to name a few) and it is refreshing to find good bbq north of the bbq belt. The smoked chicken had a nice flavor and was moist but firm enough for a sandwich, which is a relief because I am so tired of dried old chicken masquerading as bbq!!! The spoon corn bread had a jalapeño kick to it… Yummy! The brisket was really good… Again remember we are north of the bbq belt and finding good bbq is a pleasant surprise. Thank you(and thank you Ryan Miller for the suggestion) and we will be back… There are more items on the menu to try :)

I love good barbecue and most chain restaurant does not actually smoke on site and are serving frozen pork or brisket so I wanted to try this local joint. My wife tried the brisket and I had the pulled pork. Both were very good. He is actually smoking onsite and it the meat was fantastic. I really enjoyed the pork because the meat was sweet and juicy but also had some bark. I had the spicy sauce and it was a nice kick. My wife’s brisket was exceptional. It was tender and a decent smoke ring. We shared a large basket of hand cut fries which were great and I also had a small portion of baked beans which were good, very different(big carrots, celery, etc) and almost tasted like a soup. Different, not horrible but probably not get it again. Overall, awesome barbecue! I would have given the 5 stars for the meal but both my wife’s and my barbecue was just warm, not hot. Turn the warmers up a lot more and it would have been fantastic. Excellent choice for good, local barbecue.

Went to a rainy strawberry festival in Bolivar today. Decided to get some BBQ instead. So happy we did! I ordered a small pulled pork sandwich(around ~$ 4) and husband ordered a beef brisket sandwich. Ordered a large baked beans and large baked mac and cheese. Both were under $ 4 each. Husband ordered one of their many craft beers. They have beers on tap and very cool metal growlers to take them home. Total for meal was $ 21. VERY reasonable and very tasty!

This is a great spot for some delicious bbq. New creations each day. Also, they have a great craft beer selection now. 6 taps I believe and a lot of can and bottle selections. Very friendly service and the food is fresh.

I ate here last night(largely because a friend asked for a ribs recommendation and someone else suggested this place). This place is the truth! I prefer barbecue without sauce, but with or without this place will not disappoint. The mac and cheese is delicious(I’m still trying to figure what contributes to its unique flavor). The ribs are killer good. Brisket is awesome, def get ‘barked.’

First time there today for lunch. Great place. Food was wonderful. I had the MacDaddy which is Mac n Cheese topped with pulled pork and covered with choice of sauce. Really good. Co-workers had pulled pork sandwiches and they loved too. Nice choice of sides. Small clean place. Will go back for dinner and try the ribs. Service was great. Owner said he is waiting for a liquor license!
