Gelato Forte

I think they have closed. For this, one star. Popcorn was too good to happen.

Place is bunk. Smells bad. open whenever they want to. seems like more a hobby for them. Idk.

Their cheese popcorn ROCKS — I make a special trip to get a few bags to have on hand!!! I love cheese popcorn and am pretty picky — I think it is better then a little famous popcorn place in the city. Gelato is so tasty and great flavors. They also have a killer Green Tea Matcha Smoothie — my bliss. The owners are so super nice as well. Don’t delay make a point to stop here and try some goodness. They also have a small bakery selection, but I have yet to try any of the sweets.

OMG! YES, YEEESSSSS BABY! Being only 10 minutes from this wonderful place was shocking, because the goodies that is made scratch is SO delicious. Normally, I would’ve had to travel to Naperville or Chicago to get the excellent quality of desserts and snacks. The Green Apple with Caramel shake… BAAAABY…Mmmmmm…I was on cloud nine! I have to mention the gourmet popcorn was worth buying too. I know I’ll be returning and referring others to Gelato Forte.

I have been living in the «Brook» for about 9 months and never know this place existed until my sister turned me on to it. It is definitely undermarketed but they do over deliver. They are a really small family owned and operated business. I am so hooked on the Chicago mix popcorn that I haven’t bought anything else from there. I see the cakes which looks absolutely delicious but cake and caramel corn is too much sugar for me. I am not a gelato fan but I do plan to try theirs on my next visit. It is a little odd of the mixture of things that they sell but I have only heard good things about their food. I heard that the owner has cancer and was closed for a while during his treatments which caused him to lose a lot of business.

Good food, good cake, excellent popcorn, superior service. They just need to be consistent with hours. They are closed on Sunday when games are on and we always want popcorn that day. The gelato is a true European gelato. I’ve had some pretty bad gelato in Naperville but this is a true recipe it’s delicious. I love the fact that when I come in the store and they’re cooking or baking they have hair nets on. They’re cleanliness extends to when nobody is watching. Fabulous

FIRST AND FOREMOST Unilocal has the phone number wrong! It is 630−542−5800! Gelato Forte’s caramel corn mix is AWESOME! I have kicked Garrett’s to the curb. The owners are very personable and accommodating. My daughter loved their turkey panini. They offer you samples of the Gelato to try before buying and prices are very reasonable!

Oh, Gelato Forte, is there anything you can’t do? Each time I visit Gelato Forte I try to get something I haven’t tried (even if it’s a sample of a gelato flavor) and I have never been disappointed. I am not sure how many times I’ve eaten delicious things from here, but I believe it’s upwards of 20 visits.
Gelato: fantastically delicious with inventive flavors that are constantly changing (the coconut is my favorite)! Popcorn: cheese, spicy cheese, caramel or buttered; some of the best ever and always perfectly popped. Scones: both the sweet and savory scones I’ve tried are heavenly. Rich and flaky. Chocolates: I got a variety of filled chocolates for a dinner party I was having. Easily some of the freshest, best chocolates with bright, intense flavors that I have ever purchased. French macaroons: raspberry, vanilla, chocolate I’ve tried all have a crisp shell, tender interior and are perfectly executed. Cheesecake: I special ordered a caramel cheesecake and I practically force fed this to my over full family at the end of Thanksgiving when I noticed this untouched on the table. They unanimously declared this the best dessert of the night and wished they had started with this cheesecake. It was gone by the end of the next day.
In addition to the wonderful treats you can get here, the owners are so friendly and nice. You can tell how much pride they take in their work just from a brief chat with them. Great job, guys, keep doing what you do so well!

When I first found this place a few months ago, the gelato was great but that’s it. They never have the cakes ready when they say and the past few times I have come during business hours, there is a sign saying they are closed until a date in the future. I won’t be making anymore trips to Gelato Forte since they can’t be open during their advertised hours of operation.

The gelato here is amazing!!! I particularity liked the vanilla, cookies & cream, and black walnut. I’ve patronized a good number of gelato establishments and I could tell that the gelato here is of high quality. Pints had to of been about $ 7 each. Enjoyed talking to the owner as it felt like talking to a neighbor, which is how personable he was. He also encouraged sample taking, which were generous by the way.
Location is a little tricky as there isn’t a big sign, like the other adjacent storefronts in the stripmall, as the sign was from the window.

I must have my hidden gem radar turned up extra high this month– I’m rich with great finds!
Defo off the beaten path, but just a bit. You’ll find Gelato Forte in small strip mall just off Boughton Road at the far end of lot. Inside is a work in progress, but they’re fairly new so I can understand the lack of décor. The man making the gelato was unbelievably welcoming and not only let me try pretty much every flavor, but encouraged it.
The star flavors: tiramisu, strawberry cheesecake, sangria, and really, everything, Really.
One thing that I have to suggest is to work on a more detailed menu. It’s VERY vague and lists things like ‘Sandwich’ and ‘Soup’, yet doesn’t tell you what kind of soup or list any details whatsoever. I kind of guessed on the popcorn flavors but I don’t think those were labeled either. Even the Gelato had no flavors listed, though the shop man had no problem telling me and repeating them as needed.
I can’t wait to go back and I’m so glad it’s so (relatively) close to my house.

This place is the quintessential neighborhood gem! The location is a little bit out of the way, but worth the extra minute it might take to get there! The gelato and sorbets are AMAZING and made fresh! We had the pink grapefruit sorbet which had just the right level of tart & sweet. I had the cookies and cream which was yummy! And my wife had the tiramisu, which is odd because she doesn’t generally like tiramisu. So it must have been amazing!
When we were there, we happened to talk with one of the owners, who is extremely nice. He let us try all the different flavors before we picked what we wanted and he was very good with our son, even telling him how important math was in ice cream! Love it!
They also do homemade popcorn, pastries, cakes and sometime candies. all made fresh. The gelato and sorbets are definitely worth returning for, and we’ll have to try the other goodies on the menu as well, as they looked and smelled amazing!
Don’t waste any more time… get there now! We will definitely back!

This place is awesome! Their sorbets are just great! We definitely recommend this place. Everything is like homemade. The staff is friendly and you can call to order specialties… Next time, we’ll try the French croissant and apple turnover.

This place was fantastic. I had the cheesecake Gelato and my wife had the chocolate one. We were just picking up a pizza from a nearby place and saw this. My wife says it almost tastes like the Gelato from Italy. The prices were very reasonable and the staff was very friendly. It was a total fluke that we saw it but I am glad we did. This is going to become a regular place for us.

I LOVE this place! The owner & employees are great. Everything is made from scratch & The gelato is the BEST I’ve ever had. I’ve also tried the cheesecake & the lemon pound cake. Only one word could describe the cakes… DELICIOUS! I would recommend this place to everyone that’s looking for a GREAT local place for dessert. :)
