Azteca Bakery

Very happy with this bakery. If you notice, it’s inside Fiesta grocery store. The employees at this bakery are very pleasant. We ordered a birthday cake for my brother and a few others in the past to say the least, and they have not disappointed us. Their cakes are reasonably priced and they’re delicious.

I liked this bakery when I first moved to Bolingbrook in 2007. Located in a grocery store so it was easy to get groceries and baked goods in one trip. Over the years I noticed the lack of freshness in the pastries and cake slices I once loved. The pastries especially tasted off, kind of like they were sitting in a box with produce. I still shop groceries from the store, but I have stopped purchasing baked goods for many years. I pass by and thou the treats look tempting and reasonably priced, I would rather save my money and go to pricier bakery for treats.

When we moved to Bolingbrook, I was happy to see a large Mexican grocery store nearby. I was even more delighted to see an awesome Mexican bakery inside called Azteca Bakery. Don’t be fooled by the fact that Azteca is inside Fiesta Market — this place is an awesome, legit bakery.
For the uninitiated, Mexican bakeries are possibly the best bakeries out there. First, there is always a gigantic variety of different things to try. Churros, empanadas, cakes, bread pudding, donuts, cookies, other stuff that I can’t pronounce, etc. And second, everything is crazy cheap. This place became my hidden secret for bringing baked goods to work or parties. You can feed gigantic crowds for little to no money (I spent $ 20 total to feed a staff of 50). Most everything is between 50 cents and 99 cents in the bakery cases and it’s all delicious. It’d be nice if signs described what some of the stuff is, but beggars can’t be choosers. And besides, because i don’t know what half the stuff is, it’s forced me to try new things that look delicious (and taste delicious) that I probably wouldn’t have picked out myself.
So while it’s fun to get a 4 dollar cupcake at other places every once in a while, Azteca has become my go-​to delicious and ridiculously affordable bakery in Bolingbrook.
